Congratulations on 24 weeks Lirin
my bump likes the sound of flash guns too - I missed a beauty of a shot the other day due to a wallop in the ribs lol! I've been asked to pose for some bump shots, not sure I fancy it tbh, belly looks like a road map of stretch marks!
Hope everything went ok for JCR yesterday, bless her.
Welcome to the thread DebDay! I think thats four or five of us due in the same week now
Hugs Mimi, can you put your feet up and try to relax today?
I don't think I've been told about this 10 kicks/movememts a day thing? Then again I don't think I've got anything to worry about on that score, this bump is on the go non-stop!
Went to collect the car seat from MIL yesterday and I'm going to make a start packing my hospital bag today. It's hopefully a bit early but after the convo's with the MW yesterday I think I'd rather be safe than sorry. Have got my mum lined up to buy and wash some tiny clothes if he comes very early. I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing but I have to have plans in place for everything otherwise it'll all come crashing down.
Promise I'll try not to moan today0 -
My husband and I already have a beautiful 7 year old daughter and I am now 31 weeks pregnant with our little boy. I am due on October the 13th!
Whoever said that babies move less in 3rd trimester lied! My little un is going to play for England one day, he has me sooooo sore sometimes. Never mind a happy baby is an active baby. :AHi DebDay
Welcome to the threadwe're almost bump twins as I'm due just 5 days before you
I'm also expecting a little boy and he will be our first baby, sooooooo excited!

How exciting seeing so many babies due around the same time! Hello DebDay! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with a little wriggler in the 3rd Trimester. I thought they were supposed to run out of space, but this one seems to find plenty. I was sleeping on my left side all night and when i woke this morning all the bump was on the left of my belly button. Still, at least he wasn't on my bladder as usual. I spent ten minutes on my back watching the bump wriggle back into the middle of my body - bit weird looking!!:D
I've not been told to monitor kicks or anything. Haven't really been given any advice at all, just leaflets etc, in the early stages.
I'm also wondering how JCR got on yesterday. Hope she had nicer people treating her this time.
10 days of work left, whoop whoop.First Baby born January 2007

Hi have just found this thread and I think it is great!
My husband and I already have a beautiful 7 year old daughter and I am now 31 weeks pregnant with our little boy. I am due on October the 13th! I am getting excited now! 7 years is a long time and most of the time everything is new to me again! lol
I think we have just about everything ready. Haven't bought any baby clothes (apart from socks) as friends have kindly given us loads of 2nd hand stuff. Think he will be pretty much sorted in that department until around 3 months. (hows that for money saving?) Just need a few more nappies etc and we are good to go!
Whoever said that babies move less in 3rd trimester lied! My little un is going to play for England one day, he has me sooooo sore sometimes. Never mind a happy baby is an active baby. :A
welcome to the thread and congratulations.
theres a few of us on here with a long break in between, we have two boys aged 11 and 9 and now have about 6 weeks left to go till this littlen gets here.

I got a copy of the same letter the gp got.. I opened it to make sure.. not handing over a letter concerning me without knowing what it said! As it happened I dont think the dr got the letter anyway.. I never had a postnatal visit and couldnt have walked there myself.
you know it never occurred to me to read it, I wish I had :rotfl:

Can I ask a really stupid question? You know when your midwife says that yous should feel 10 movements in a 24 hour period, is one kick classed as one movement, or is it one period of kicks classed as one movement? I assume it is one kick is one movement but I was lying in bed thinking abut this this morning and got myself all confused.
I'm still suffering with back pain and sleep deprived so forgive my idiocy!
I was told 1 kick = 1 movement.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all and welcome DebDay. There's a lot of boys due in October! Congrats on viability Lirin - you are exactly 5 weeks behind me as I'm 29 weeks today!
Feel so sick today. DS2 said he felt sick yesterday and had a high temp and I'm wondering if I've caught it. Not actually been sick either of us so that's something. He has to be well for Monday as it's his birthday.
Had a letter from the consultant anaesthetist changing my appointment that I changed back to the original time and day! Jeez, are these people thick or what - if I couldn't make that one originally how am I now supposed to make it!?!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -

WW, I was told one kick is one movement too. I hate having to keep an eye on movements as my baby doesn't seem to like routines and just moves when it feels it which isn't great when you get worried and start obsessively waiting for kicks or flips. I'm another one who has had a more active baby in the third tri, mine didn't really move a lot until then but now when baby decides to get moving its like a non stop party in there for half an hour:rotfl:I had loads of movement yesterday and last night (so much for there being no room left) and my bump looks totally different this morning - its gone in at the sides and way out at the front and top. It looks so weird as its not the shape I'm used to and its more uncomfortable too:( My nausea is much more constant through the day now and despite still being on the anti sickness meds I keep being sick up into my mouth. This last stage is sooooooooooooooooooo not glamorous at all ladies:rotfl:
I have my appt with the MW this afternoon and as I'll be 39+5 she said I could have a sweep but I think I'll pass. I'm seeing my consultant on Monday anyway and I know I'll get another chance then if I want one. I just don't like the idea of it tbh, and I'm in no rush to get baby out so don't see the point. I'm not missing something, am I? Also I've still no sign of losing my mucus plug or having a show. Does this happen to everyone before going into labour or do some people not get that? Sorry for all the questions, I'll probe the MW later as well anyway:p
Welcome debday and congrats on reaching 24 weeks Lirin. Hope all is well with jcr, I can't even imagine how worried she must have been yesterday over the way her situation was handled:(:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
hi all
Welcome debday
Mimi - hope your not to sore from your fall x
Hoping JCR is ok hopefully we will hear from her soon x
Just a quick question about moses basket mattresses, whats the difference between the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones for example
http://www.mothercare.com/SAFEseal-Foam-Core-Mattress-Basket/dp/B001P5ZOPU?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_1&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-1&qid=1313146477&pf_rd_r=187MSKPTN7XMX5FYRWBX&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=231490887&pf_rd_s=center-7
http://www.mothercare.com/SAFEseal-Mattress-Spacetec-COOLMAX-freshFX/dp/B0030SS9QQ?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_2&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-2&qid=1313146477&pf_rd_r=187MSKPTN7XMX5FYRWBX&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=231490887&pf_rd_s=center-7
except the price one is £9.99 the other £24.99 i'm presuming when you buy a moses basket new it only has a basic mattress with it which worked fine? i'm wondering if it is worth spending that extra money or if it will make any differenceAny thoughts??
