    hi all :)

    Welcome debday :)

Mimi - hope your not to sore from your fall x

Hoping JCR is ok hopefully we will hear from her soon x

Just a quick question about moses basket mattresses, whats the difference between the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones for example

    http://www.mothercare.com/SAFEseal-Foam-Core-Mattress-Basket/dp/B001P5ZOPU?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_1&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-1&qid=1313146477&pf_rd_r=187MSKPTN7XMX5FYRWBX&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=231490887&pf_rd_s=center-7

    http://www.mothercare.com/SAFEseal-Mattress-Spacetec-COOLMAX-freshFX/dp/B0030SS9QQ?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_2&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-2&qid=1313146477&pf_rd_r=187MSKPTN7XMX5FYRWBX&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=231490887&pf_rd_s=center-7

except the price one is £9.99 the other £24.99 i'm presuming when you buy a moses basket new it only has a basic mattress with it which worked fine? i'm wondering if it is worth spending that extra money or if it will make any difference :o Any thoughts??

    xx

The cheap one has plastic on one side so dribble are left on the skin making them sore. it will get dents very quickly where baby lays, it isnt washable only wipeable.

the expensive one a washable outer layer, isnt plastic covered so baby will be less likely to overheat = reduce SIDs risk. It is also firmer foam so less likely to get dents where the head and bottom are. it is probably a litte deeper as well.

Hi. No news from JCR yet? I hope she and bubs are ok and enjoying one anothers company?!

I hope one movement = one kick!! I don't think I've regularly had 10 bouts of kicking episodes throughout?? In saying that I probably haven't tried to count that.

Congrats on viability Lirin and hi to Debday!

I think there are a lot more boys generally at the mo. Lucky girls (and boys) in 18 years with all that choice!

I've been doing pretty much nothing today. After that ridiculous mound of ironing I ended up with horrendously swollen kankles and feet so I've been concentrating on keeping them up! It's actually v boring. I've managed to swerve daytime tv so far. Gotta head out for a food shop in a bit but not a mega one so shouldn't be too bad. I'm planning on batch cooking next Mon and Tues. DH should be around a fair bit so he can give me a hand with ideas and shopping. EDD is the Wed so hopefully that should keep me distracted.

We DTD the last night (first time in AGES) and it's given me a taster again! I'll have to get some in before bubs arrives as I imagine it'll go back off the menu for a while. Poor DH won't know if he's coming or going (no pun intended!).

It's so strange but I'm not missing work like I thought I would. Maybe it's because I'm uncomfy and not sleeping?

Apart from the baby what are you all looking forward to the most post birth? For me it'll be wearing "normal" clothes again and being able to move freely in bed (and wine!).

I keep asking DH to DTD but he is refusing :o he says I am too big and he can't see how it would work:eek: I am desperate to get this baby out though so I may have to insist next week!!

Claire - I've not had a show yet either but I'm a few days behind you. I keep knicker checking as I want to think something will be happening in the next few days.

Also, re sweep - I have one booked for next Friday which is due date. Quite a few people have told me to leave it for a few days but I really am the most impatient person and anything to help things along I'm willing to try.

I get a few squirmy kick things I think every so often, except at 4am which seems to be the new time to dance on my bladder and wake me up......

My ankles have swollen a little, and I can't wear my wedding ring anymore (tbh, I'm scatty about wearing it anyway. I keep forgetting I have it on, so it's been sanded by accident, minimal damage, painted over, plastered, left in places I can never remember).... Not wearing it isn't a big thing, I might sling it on a chain around my neck.

Dh has got into the idea of batch cooking, and despite being 24 weeks, we have a freezer already stocked with stews, soups, curries, etc

    Wine, rare steak and walking!

I made the effort to try to DTD to cheer DH up about a fortnight ago. Ended up in floods of tears and so much pain I couldn't get off the bed for about 3 days :( poor bloke hasn't come anywhere near me since!

Lirin you have a v good DH! My DH would happily keep us stocked up on KFC, mcdonalds etc!!

Claireloo - I did most the "work" before DTD so that it was only about ten mins before the big finish. It certainly wasn't missionary either so perhaps you could try that on your DH. Sort of get him to the point of no return and only give him one option for the finish?! Sorry for the detail!!

I'm keen to meet this baby but not convinced he's making his way down as I still seem to get jabs fairly high up. I'll be knocking up a curry tonight, followed by pineapple and more DTD but suspect I'll just end up with heart burn!

I'm getting plug loss slowly but nothing resembling anything show like, not even the tiniest trickle of blood. I had awful cramping yesterday morn but that passed fairly quickly. I think this little one will rock up when he's good and ready and not a second before.

Winnie I forgot about rare steak! Yum (if I remember correctly!).

My DH has been moaning that all his friends' wives have turned into randy mares when preg and I'm the opposite. Apparently se* was one of my specialist skills!! Cheeky s0d! I also said that I suspect some of his mates were probably fibbing because I'd say it's about 50/50 on the randyness/off se* ratio that I can work out.

Being able to lie on my tummy and roll over in bed. Not having to pee every hour. Not feeling like an OAP when i get up or walk anywhere. And being able to eat rare steak and shellfish and runny eggs and unpasturised cheese... (I like my food). :D
    Only 7 weeks to go...

Claire - With DD I didn't lose my plug or waters til i was 10 cm and ready to push. I knew labour was imminent when i paced up and down the house for 2 nights instead of sitting on the sofa.

I remember in the early days being all chilled about rare steak, vino, runny eggs, seafood etc and convincing myself that 9 months isn't long but, OMG it feels like an age!!

I didn't really give any thought to stretch marks, kankles and being uncomfortably large - just added bonuses (not). Hey ho, not too long left and I shouldn't moan but sometimes it good to! Mmmmm paella with massive prawns and chorizo
