Apart from the baby what are you all looking forward to the most post birth? For me it'll be wearing "normal" clothes again and being able to move freely in bed (and wine!).
A nice, extremely bloody rare steak and a bottle of Corona. And not feeling like an over-ripe melon. Oh- and being able to get up off my nice low sofa all by myself!

I haven't yet either Bella but it kept saying my account wasn't recognised but then said my email address was already registered !!!!!!? I gave up then forgot so thanks for the reminder.
I tried vino and it gave me heartburn so that's probably good. I just hope it doesn't continue!0 -
Hi. No news from JCR yet? I hope she and bubs are ok and enjoying one anothers company?!
I hope one movement = one kick!! I don't think I've regularly had 10 bouts of kicking episodes throughout?? In saying that I probably haven't tried to count that.
Congrats on viability Lirin and hi to Debday!
I think there are a lot more boys generally at the mo. Lucky girls (and boys) in 18 years with all that choice!
I've been doing pretty much nothing today. After that ridiculous mound of ironing I ended up with horrendously swollen kankles and feet so I've been concentrating on keeping them up! It's actually v boring. I've managed to swerve daytime tv so far. Gotta head out for a food shop in a bit but not a mega one so shouldn't be too bad. I'm planning on batch cooking next Mon and Tues. DH should be around a fair bit so he can give me a hand with ideas and shopping. EDD is the Wed so hopefully that should keep me distracted.
We DTD the last night (first time in AGES) and it's given me a taster again! I'll have to get some in before bubs arrives as I imagine it'll go back off the menu for a while. Poor DH won't know if he's coming or going (no pun intended!).
It's so strange but I'm not missing work like I thought I would. Maybe it's because I'm uncomfy and not sleeping?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I was told it was 10 different movement periods within 24 hours, because u can't every kick/movement. Especially if the baby is still doing cartwheels like mine.
I would love to DTD at the moment! Have been like this for about 4 weeks now and is doing my head in! Unfortunately OH just isn't up for it. For some reason he has seriously gone off it, which he didn't do when I was expecting 1st time round... Dunno if it because I expecting a boy or what. Not good for my self esteem though... Just when I thought I might have a chance he went and hurt his back and now won't attempt ANYTHING until his back stops hurting! GRRRR
REALLY looking forward to getting back into my skinny clothes again. I have grown from a size 8 to a 14 and even these clothes are getting a bit tight! I was 8 stone 4lb when I conceived and am now 9 stone 8, so have put on 18lb so far! (and growing) I wouldn't have minded putting a little bit of weight on before, but now I am feeling like a prize heffa! lol
Has anyone else with an older child nticed them becoming more clingy?? My DD has to be with me constantly at the moment, sitting beside me, following me to loo, everything! Hope she starts getting better, because I am feeling chlostraphobic! (sp?)0 -
It's normal I think DebDay. How old is she? I found mine even at 6 to be quite clingy, but they are anyway.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I haven't either Bella! Empty bank account, payday looming lol!
There just isn't anything in the world like a large chunk of fillet steak, "cooked" blue with a drop of stilton sauce on the side! Oh my mouth is watering just thinking about it! And chorizo! Man, I'd forgotten about that - I used to live on that and parma ham! No wonder we're skint :rotfl:
I had a glass of wine the other night and it gave me heartburn too Dogloverand it was very watered down with soda so just not the same!
Have had some good news today, money wise. I'm not eligible for SMP due to having been on SSP since 9 weeks pregnant so I've applied for maternity allowance which, if I get it, would mean an effective payrise of nearly £200 a month :j! That will certainly make life easier (and mean we can afford that fillet steak)!

DS who is nearly 11 hasn't been clingy as such, but he's been really protective of me and very helpful - helping me out of the car, carrying shopping bags, hoovering etc. He's really been a little star. I've been trying to spend as much quality time with him as I can because for most of his life it's just been me and him (his dad has only had regular contact for about the past 2 years, since I married DH - coincidence? but thats for another thread) and I'm a tad worried about how he'll feel once babs arrives. I don't want him to feel pushed out, because obviously the baby will need a fair bit of attention.
I'm rambling, somebody stop me!0 -
delain - She has just turned 7. I thought it was normal, just very annoying at times! Especially when u are being followed to the loo for the 10th time that day! lol
Winnie - I wasn't entitled to SMP from work because I didn't earn enough. I only worked 10 hours a week. When I finally got my 'no' letter from work, I applied for SMA. I expected it to take weeks for it to come through. I posted it on a Thursday and rang the following Thursday to see if it had been received. They informed me that not only had it been received, but processed as well and I would get my first payment 23rd August! Yay! Got the confirmation letter and payment schedule 2 days later. Have never known a gov department with such a quick turn around!0 -
Winnie - DH and I have both sat down and explained that we won't love DD any less, that we will 'grow' more love. She has been 'trying' to help, but is often more of a hinderence because she is so little. (She tried to make herself some diluted juice the other day, and forgot to add the water. Full glass of concentrate! lol)0

Pigpen I found a copy of the letter they sent to my GP in the back of my postnatal notes :rotfl: I should really learn to read! Duration of labour was 3 hours 2 minutes and duration of 3rd stage was 38 minutes.Wife and mother :jGrocery budget
