They usually count labour from 5cm dilated.. did you not get a discharge letter with all the details on?
Really?? In that case I had a 7 hour labour I think. Is that short?

I am curious...after 9 children does it get easier? As in because your body has done it lots of times it kinda just goes, labour? Ok BOOM

Hi there. Have any of you ladies who have children had a baby who slept all the time ? My daughters son was born 2 days ago by caesarian and they have to either undress him or give him a bath to wake him up to try and get him to breast feed most of the time. I never had any of that with my 3 lol.

I've moaned to anyone that'll listen today Pigpen lol!! Even the receptionist (who I swear was a pitbull in a previous life) got an ear bashing while I was waiting to moan at the midwife!

Sorry to go on about it, but is 2/5ths palpable the same as 2/5ths engaged? Bloody jargon....

*Winnie hobbles off moaning to herself coz she's bored everyone else to tears*

Palpable is how much they can feel above your pelvis. Engaged is how much is in the pelvis. I know it's very confusing and I only know because I looked it up when deciphering my notes. I'm annoyed that this fidget has gone from 1/5 engaged to free and is now dancing around doing tue twist in there. He keeps twisting from bum forward to back to back and back again many times a day.

Section babies are dragged out without any preparation or squishing the fluid out of them.. they have pounding headaches for a few days plus some of the drugs they give you can make them a bit sleepy. Mine improved at about 5 days..

Anyone else had their sickness return later on in pregnancy?
I had really bad sickness up until about 15 weeks, I have been fine since, but for the last week or so I have felt it returning. Just the smell of food cooking at the minute is making me feel ill!!

Sorry if this is a bit wierd..

Has anyone else noticed that they smell different, and that it keeps changing? I promise that i am washing very regularly (esp as i feel so hot all the time), but i've really noticed that i have a different smell to pre-PG.

Before about 14 weeks, i could sort of smell a vaguely irony smell, a bit like you get from raw minced beef (sounds great i know !) not very strong but i could smell it. Then it seemed to change to more like a floury smell, rather like uncooked dough (reminded me of my days waitressing at Pizza Hell!), now, as of today it smells sort of like buttery sweet popcorn ( which i think is the best version so far!).

Its not what i've eaten, as i ate no red meat from about week 3 and still less than once a fortnight now, i've had maybe 2 pizza's since PG, and cant remember the last popcorn i had. Might seem odd, but the smell seems strongest round my boobies.

DH says he cant smell anything, whcih makes me think maybe i'm mad. I know they say pregnancy can make you smell different, but these changes are just bizarre!:(

  • :( I've fell down the stairs this evening. Landed on my back and bum, hurt my foot, wrist and elbow trying to stop myself falling.

Rang emergency midwife who said that as i didnt go down on my stomach, ive not got stomach pains or bleeding then to wait until the morning and ring midwife to check me. Mum came and sat with me for a bit and has gone now.

Rang OH and told him - both him and my dad are asking why i "wasnt more careful" - anyone would think i threw myself down them on purpose!

Keep imagining I have somach ache now! (I dont - its flumpettte wriggling!"

Flower - my sickness has never really gone away but it did get slightly better between weeks 25 and 27. It's now back with a vengeance :( so much so that I have had to start my maternity leave early :(

Mimi - I also had a fall at around 22 weeks or so. I tripped over the dog and landed on my hands and knees really hard. I got checked out at the community hospital near us and the doctor said not to worry as the baby was well protected and as long as you don't fall on your tummy they're usually ok and well cushioned :) do go and checked out though if you're worrying, the doctors would rather you got checked out than worry needlessly :)

I had to go into work this afternoon to take my laptop back now I'm on maternity leave. It was a bit weird as it seemed like ages since I was in the office but it was only a couple of weeks ago. They made a fuss of me with cards and flowers so it was quite nice going back in :) felt very weird to say see you next year when I was leaving!!!

    Hope everyone is well :)
