Congratulations on your new grandson emerald:D

Good luck with the breastfeeding abby, you're doing a great job.

Nothing much going on with me, am feeling a little bit unsettled at the moment though I suppose thats to be expected this close to the end. I rearranged my hospital bags into one for labour, one for after and one for the baby and feel much more organised now. They're now in the boot and the car seat base is fitted in the car so its all seeming very real now:eek: My pram is all set up as well and I just can't stop looking at it, its so pretty:D The dog is not so enamoured with it though and keeps running away when you move it:rotfl: so need to spend some time getting him used to it.

Oh and while I remember do I need to pack a little cardigan in the baby bag. I've packed some vests, sleepsuits, hats, scratchsuits and a cellular blanket but I'm not sure if thats enough? x

Thank you and i hope everything goes well for you too:):)

Claire I'd say yes to the cardigan :) though our hospital do have a supply that they will just pop on the baby if they think s/he is cold.

I think they are donated, they are hand knitted anyway. Keeps the elderly out of trouble. I did mention to a lady I chat to on the bus who said she loves knitting baby things that the hospital take them in normal baby sizes and tiny sizes as Poole has TCU and SCBU.

If you're in hospital any length of time you'll find that you come away with a lot more than you went in with. I know I have every time.

Abby well done on the bf. Hope it gets sorted for you soon. Have they checked Joshua for tounge tie?

    Emerald congrats :)

    Monring all :)

Hope BF sorts itself out for you abby! :) dont really have any advice as I gave up after 3 days because I just had no milk and DS just lost so much weight

Yesterday I just felt horrendous, was up at 4:30 I was sick loads, was exhausted had to take DS for eye test, found out he needs glasses so was a bit upset about that (not that its the end of the world but I didnt think he'd need any and I was in a bit of a state anyways :( ) I didnt think OH was being very supportive so that just made me cry :( and we ended up bickering.

But fast forward to today feeling much better I managed to sleep from 8:30 til 3:30 then from 4:30 til 8am which was good :) just waiting in for my matalan delivery to come i missed it yesterday, so will have moses basket sheets and a lovely fleecy blanket, the cellular ones I ordered are now out of stock so will have to get them from somewhere else now. Got baby a little strippey hoody from peacocks for £2 and DS wanted to buy him some socks :) very cute!

so better crack on with my jobs whilst i'm feeling ok :) have a good day all xx

    congrats sequeena and abby.
re breastfeeding, wilson wouldnt latch for the first 24 hours even though he suckled just after birth for an hour, due to mucus in his airways that c section babies get.
try different positions, i found holding him like a rugby ball in the first few days helped him latch on. there were a few moments where i wanted to give up.
i was never told to wake him for a feed. in fact i was told to never wake a sleeping baby and feed on demand. wilson didnt lose any of his birth weight and his weight progress is birth-7lbs 13oz
    6 days- 7lbs 13oz
    11 days- 8lbs 3oz
    24days- 9lbs 6oz
    31days- 10lbs 3oz

    Morning all.

Just back from Haemophiliac clinic, where I had 15 or so vials of blood taken.

I've been told my platelet count is so low- 52 now- that I will not be offered epidural or spinal (didn't like the look of them anyway, to be honest!), and caeserean is out unless done under general anaesthetic. He expects the count to drop to 20-30 before labour. Said I'd likely only be offered the self-administering drug starting with R- Rhemphaynol or something is the name- someone mentioned it on here a few pages ago.
Been referred for further tests, but they don't anticipate any problems really, though was told extra blood etc would be on standby during the labour.

I'll go read back the last couple of pages now!

I'm the same twinkle, went to my mums yesterday she said oooooo your looking wonderful, I said who you trying to kid! my hairs a mess my skin is horrible and scaby, and I feel dreadful! I know she was just trying to make me feel better but really I'd rather her say I looked awful it would make me feel at least people could see how much I was suffering :o

Anyways just gutted downstairs waiting for floors to dry then I might do some ironing, my backs hurting now and I feel worn out but if I make a start on the ironing it will make me feel better mentally :D

Lirin - at least you know where you stand, pain relief wise and there prepared if anything was to happen :)

question none pregnancy related - anyone who's kids have glasses - when DS went to opticians yesterday they gave him eye drops to make his pupils bigger, they said the effect should wear off after 24 hours but it hasnt it looks very strange rang optician he said should take 24 hours but because his eyes are blue it might take longer?? does this sound right any thoughts??

    xx

Aw Lirin i usually get about 5/6 vials of blood taken when i go see my various consultants i think 15 must be somekind of record? if my pregnancy consultant ever decides if i will need a caesearean mine will be done under a general, because of my funny head/eyes , which am not sure if i like the sound of it to be honest waking up to a baby, i would need some kind of video/photographic evidence to know it was my baby... lol

morning ladies, well another awful night.

hubby was late for work as i had to have another bath just to be able to move, the pressure is sooo bad. can't shift the back ache either. but on good news mw did came her my A/N and baby is engaged which surprised me after last week getting told my muscle prob arent' strong enugh to hold him there after 3 sections.

My Bp Is raised, and i'm in agony.

But she said i must go up at any time and get checked out as the pain might just be the start of things. she thinks baby will be here by monday but i guess we will have to just see.

so today i'm not going on the woodland walk with kids as planned as i knew it was pushing it anyway but i'm struggling to walk from one room to the other at the mo, so may not be the most wise idea to go to middle of no where, with no mobile signal and 3 kids, lol.

Oh i remember these drops well, all my glasses were choose with the drops in so i ended up with the biggest most colourful deirde barlow glasses you can imagine, bearing in mind the last time i had the drops was october they do take a while for the pupils to start dilating again properly even on my brown eyes it took a day or do, so i can see the logic in the blue eyes taking a longer effect with it having low amounts of melanin (i think thats what its called)

sorry am waffeling i hope this helped a little :o
