I'm pretty much the same with nightwear - I have a vest top and large sized nightshirt for the birth and they're non maternity, just bigger sizes from sainsburys. I figured that'd do and I'd wear my over sized non maternity PJs after the birth (unless I can get dressed and go?!). It was much cheaper this way.
Just sorted my TENS - I decided to hire it in the end and it should be here by next Wed. Also just booked my bikini wax which I'm dreading although I know I'll feel much happier once it's done.
Like Clareloo I've got a fair bit booked for next week but I'd like to finish washing the Baby's clothes so I'm totally organised.0 -
Nappies: Im going through more than I thought I would as he poops during every feed! I dont really like Pampers as they tend to stick to his bottom even though they are changed often? Morrisons brand were nice but at the minute Im using Asda Little Angels just because theres 44 in a pack for £3 odd.:j0

30mls of water = 1 scoop of formula..
Yes of course it is fine to make up less!!!
Once he is draining the full lot add another 30mls and another scoop..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I'm so glad I only have 6.5 days left at work, though I think I'll be dead by the time we've thrown out all the files/stationery etc and moved all the furniture! Then two weeks into august I'm moving house  I don't have a problem with what I'm going to do with my time off - sleep! I can sleep 12 hours a night at the moment & still wake up shattered
The troble with nightwear is finding something bf friendly that won't show anything and long/big enough as I'm plus size before you add bump!
I've been stocking up on the Huggies wipes offers in Co-op & Sainsburys - buy 1 get 2 free, but I'm not buying anymore until I know Giblet is ok with them. Must start on the nappies - might buy a brand & an Asda/Morrisons pack as I've got reuseables after the first week or so to use.0 -
Twilight - I feel exactly the same as you! I'm 5ft and look like a beach ball with cocktail sticks poking out apparently. Funny enough though since it's move southwards I don't feel that big!
I don't think I'm going to bother with a dressing gown in hospital. Depends on the thickness/length of your nightshirts though.
I put mine on when I got home to see if it fits and haven't taken it off yet... I'm contemplating the style of it with leggings to wear normally!Bump due 22nd September0 -
I think this is what my baby will look like...
Sorry totally immature and that but made me chuckle! xBump due 22nd September0 -
supermaiden wrote: »No I very much appreciate it, thankyou. I am having a bit of a tough time to be honest. Im struggling more than I thought I would. I guess its with the way the birth went and being rushed in for emergency c-section and Im just struggling with missing the start of baby's life. My parents are worried about me and told me I have to tell the health visitor tomorrow how Im feeling so I guess I will do that. I dont know if its PND or what but I dont want to be taking anything, I just need someone to talk to I think. It was all very traumatic for me so I do think that is the problem.
With regards to feeds Im just going to feed him when he wants it so I know hes not going hungry. I dont feel guilty (now) for giving him formula as we tried so hard with breastfeeding. Im still expressing but only been doing it once on a morning and thenbefore bed, getting quite sore at times but hoping to drop it off to once a day if
I can. Its a shame as I get 150mls each 10 min express and Im now not sure what to do with it, maybe I will give him it during the day for some feeds.
Im wondering with the formula: it says 90mls water to 3 scoops powder, this is like 1 scoop per 30mls, since he is only drinking approx 60mls can I drop a scoop and only put 60mls water/2 scoops? Or is this not to be done? I feel like such a newbie where this is all concerned!
Glad you arent feeling guilty about FF, i always try and remember the saying 'we ain't perfect, we're parents' just do your best and remember the first 6 weeks are the toughest. I had a similar birth to yours, 72 hour labour which ended in EMCS and i defo had PND afterwards, i think a lot of it is due to sheer exhaustion.
As his tummy gets bigger and he drinks more he will go longer between feeds, try and make his last feed around 10.30pm so when he does start having a longer stretch at night it is from 10.30 onwards rather than 8pm onwards as they can manage one long stretch from around 6 weeks - i always gave DD a 'dream feed' at 10.30pm and it really helped get her into a good routine of having a long sleep from this time.
You sound like you are doing a fantastic job, just rest when you can and take every bit of help offered xxxDue 26th July, team yellow0 -
urgh, what a day, had my appt at dr's about the dizzy spells, was meant to be seen at 11am, right on que i started to feel very faint, light headed and sick, by 11.20 i asked the receptionist how long i was gonna be waiting "at least another 45 mins, he's running behind" i explained how i was feeling and she said well if anything happens youre in the right place!!!!! anyway, was finally seen at 12.30 and by then i felt as right as rain!!!! they took more bloods off me and then hooked me up to a ecg(?) machine to monitor my heart, that came back ok so just gotta wait on the blood results now.
because i was in there way longer than i expected i didnt have enough food on me for my daughter who is diabetic (i had planned on going into town straight after and getting dinner there) so her blood sugar dropped, i only had biscuits on me and she wolfed them down but was still hungry and started to complain, i had to ring my mam who lives 5 mins away from the Drs, she came armed with sandwiches, juice and fruit for her.
finally got to town, feeling very stressed but hoping i can get everything i need for my hospital bag,and little legs starts to complain she feels sick and dizzy (join the club) she didnt look well at all so we get a taxi, which she proceeds to throw up in:(
ive just spent the past 20 mins cleaning her up, and myself, and have rung the hospital as her blood sugar and keytone readings arent what i expect them to be, i've got to keep checking her hourly til 5 then the nurse will call back and see whats what.
i am soooo tired and stressed, i keep thinking about all i need to get for the baby, plus school uniforms for my other two kids, i really hate going into town at the best of times and while the kids are off it's just murder.
i cant leave little legs with anyone as she'll only let me do her injections and blood tests and the thought of traipsing round town again fills me with dread..............
apart from that, i'm fine
hope everyone else is happy an well xSkint, but happy (ish):p0 -
Sounds like a stressful day twinkle. How annoying that the doctors messed you around and you had to wait. Could your mum go to town with you one day so it's less of an ordeal?0

Twinkle hope you and little legs are ok now!!!!
Supermaiden hope the appointment tomorrow helps and that you feel better soon, i am pleased you are getting support from your parentsseafarers_wife wrote: »Puzzled, what do you normally do to relax yourself?
Im not big on the relaxing, normally its walks with OH around the woods, odd bit of cross stitch/knitting/diy/housework.
For the past 10 years i have either been working/studying or combining both!
Im on week 3 of being signed off work and have pottered round the house doing bits. ok it helps that ive got lots to do due to having moved not that long ago, but i read a fair bit, watch telly, do cross stitch, have sorted through some boxes of unpacking, have sorted through clothes & bedding to be charity shopped, have had a friend round for dinner, have popped to library, am planning on doing some baking and when im further along, am planning on doing some batch cooking and freezing meals so that when bubs is here we can grab lasagne or whatever out the freezer that morning and bung it in the oven to cook that night.
oooh, hadnt thought about batch cookingthanks
there is also lots of passing time on facebook playing games and internet shopping to be done or even just internet window shopping.
a girl can only do so much, normally my facebook time is maxed out at 30 mins and thats with games!!!
hope everything goes well at the midwife later today.
midwife went fine thanks, Elvis is all good, although we are now back to back with head down, mw said at 32 +4 not too much to worry about as still time to turn, but if Elvis is still b2b in a few weeks i get some exercises to do
hope you have had a good dayPuzzled I was the same as you - really worried about how to fill my time when not working. All I know is I don't want to be sitting in front of the TV all day every day for 4 (potentially 6) weeks. BUT I am finishing work tomorrow and I cannot wait now. I am too tired to work (the drive is killing me apart from anything else). Already next week is filling up nicely with lunch with some of the girls from my NHS ante- natal group, meeting my other friend and her little girl for a coffee another day and treating myself to a well overdue pedicure as well. That's before I've even thought about things like washing baby clothes and making room in the kitchen cupboards for steriliser, bottles etc.
I also do scrapbooking and make cards so that helps to fill the time if I'm really bored. And I have been Sky+ing films to watch if times get really desperate.
I can't wait. :j
ooooh, congratsive got no friends to meet
but am going to be doing everything i can to find some

Puzzled, sounds crap, how long are you off work for?
am off at the mo becuase of the accident but back to work on Monday, then work for 3 weeks, home for 4 weeks before due date and then OH and i are planning for me to be off for a year - hoping that when Elvis has left the womb i will be more entertained/exhasuted and wont notice the boredom lol0
