  • Wow Jcr, they are gorgeous. :T
I wish I was more artistic.

I did knit some cardigans & stuff for my previous babies but it's been so long i've forgotten how to do it. :o
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

  • Sorry you've been feeling so crappy. I've felt low on and off for the past few weeks, and then I feel guilty for feeling so low when I should be really happy, and then I feel worse. My husband has really bad depression and anxiety and a lot of the time I feel like I'm so busy supporting him and the kids, that no one ever looks out for me - who do I lean on? It's hard. I hope you get some relief after a good sleep or some medication. Like you say, not long until you're due then it will probably be easier to get some medication to help. xxx

That must be hard for you hun ((hugs)). :(

Do you have family that can help out?

I'm so grateful that I can come on here when i'm feeling good or bad & know that there are others that can understand. :A

They are really really nice. I'm not artistic at all. I can't sew, knit, nothing. I actually got banned from using sewing machines at one point at school because I broke so many :rotfl:

My parents are great, and I speak to my mum every day. She is my sounding board. I love him to bits, and I knew about his depression when we got together. Our family is well used to mental health issues as my nan has paranoid schizophrenia, so it's not something that scares me. But every now and again, it all gets a bit too much. There's only so many times you can walk over the egg shells! I've found it harder to cope during pregnancy as my own hormones and moods are all over the place, and I've felt low and depressed myself at times. I know once my own hormones settle, I won't find it so hard to cope with his mood swings. To be fair to him, he only flares up badly every 3 months or so, and usually all I need to say is 'I think you need to see the GP about your meds' and he gets the message that he is having a wobble. A couple of days later, and he is back to his normal self.

He is lucky to hae such a supportive wife. :A

I have asperger's syndrome (a form of autism) which effects my emotions alot.

Even though I know the things I think are irrational sometimes it's really hard to make myself think a different way.

I must be a complete nightmare to live with sometimes especially with pregnancy hormones added to the mix. :o

It can be, but when you say 'in sickness and in health' you take all the rough with the smooth, and I wouldn't be without him for the world. He is so loving and caring, the bad bits are far outweighed by the good bits. I'm glad really that at least he recognises he has a 'problem' and isn't bothered about seeking help for it, and taking medication. Unlike my nan who refuses to accept she is 'ill' and thinks we're all part of a mass conspiracy against her, and thinks her medication is lethal poison and we're all trying to bump her off! :o

MrsS that is very common with many types schitzophrenia.. my cousin is the same and the docs said that is usually the reason people go back in.

Someone posted up a link to an online test thing for Autism and for ADHD... apparently I am 'borderline' autistic (I was shocked it was on borderline TBH) but I have ADHD by all accounts.. Hhmm... maybe the only H I have is my first initial.. OH said it is obvious.. nice of him!

:wave:Hello new thread and hello newbies!

I hope Littlebit and Madbird are going through a positive labour experience and can share mummy cuddles soon!

    I'm just de-lurking to mention:
I got told off by the M&S bra-fitting lady for wearing underwired bras. I thought it was just a comfort issue, but apparently if you're hoping to breastfeed it can affect the way your ducts develop.

Also my heartburn has reached explosive levels. Can't eat or drink anything after 7pm, no citrus or chocolate at all. The only thing that helps me are Rennies Extra. Took a while to get confirmation that it's definitely safe in pregnancy, and I still only take one at night, but it really helps me.
My joints are sore, I've started to waddle and everything takes twice as long, but other than that I'm doing ok. Still nowhere near organised for baby... Not many June babies on the list, but I'm hoping to make the most of July. Last day of work July 15th for me, since they won't let me take my holidays after maternity leave next year.

    Nice week-end everyone!

Morning all. Sorry to hear about your situations BCS and Mrsspendalot- it's hard to live with depression. I have never had it, but was with someone for a very long time who was extremely bad- I know there's great high's and low's with it.

Missy76- I did the same. Could have sworn Fathers Day was next week, so will be going out to buy presents tonight. Will make a card I think, from Hitchhiker, with a pic of the scan I like best. Handy having an editing background when I realise how dozy and forgetful I've been!

Yestarday I felt uncomfortable waking up. My left side was weird. Just left it as I thought it was prob the way I had slept- by lunchtime it had developed into a slightly sharp pain, so I phoned the doc fast (midwife unit closed, community midwife off, doc closed for training, emergency number is an answerng machine.....typical!). Finally got the doc, who asked me to come straight in. Luckily, turned out to be a UTI, which I've been given antibiotics for. Surprised at the pain- if it had been only me I probably wouldn't have worried. Given that Hitchhiker's a part of things now, I'd rather get it looked at.
