Hi everyone,
Thanks for the bra info, I'm growing at a rate of knots up there so really need to get sorted! I also usually buy my undies from Tesco, they're just so pretty! If anyone sees any nice maternity swimwear while bra shopping I'd be grateful of the pointer!
Just back from the hospital after having the fibronectin (I think thats what they said) test to see if I was eligible for the full trial, and the good news is it came back negative so I'm not in the highest risk group for pre-term labour, or at least not right now which is good news especially seeing as I'm only 23 weeks! Looking forward to V-day on Monday though
Hope everyone's aches and pains are feeling better today, hugs to those who need them and labour vibes to the boldies0 -
Oh gosh i've got heart burn yet again. Eewww . milk works a treat and it goes quickly. but i do dislike this part of pregnancy.
Well guess means my baby will have hair again, lol. But hey i'm still all excited and bubbly. i know time is wizzing and i do have a while to go. but i can't wait till our little boy is here.0 -
Hi all,
Been lurking for a while and not posting but thought I would today.
Leaky boobs - I'm glad I'm not the only early leaker - my MW actually asked me if I was sure that was what it was as it was very early! She also said not to be tempted to express it or fiddle too much as it could result in early labour due to the hormones.
Just had a very embarrassing "episode" in Next resulting the poor lad on the tills having to help me to a seat and get me some water. Bless him!
Sorry to hear people have been down. Not too much longer and we'll all be having mummy cuddles - then we'll be grumpy because we've been kept up all night a puked on and our nipples are cracking and bleeding.
Just spent 2 hours (literally) calling a hospital to get put through to the radiotherapy unit - kept being put through to everything but. Hubby's Grandma is having radiotherapy in a couple of weeks and I said I'd share the driving with Grandad, but needed to check there wouldn't be any complications for bump. Apparently, Radiotherapy is fine but there are treatements that aren't.
Verbaudet - I ordered some clothes from there. I had a code for 50% off and a free gift, the clothes got cancelled but they still sent the free gift and charged me for it! (How that makes it free I don't know!) The free gift was a cheap looking hat, bib and booties so not very impressed.
Bedding - have got a few bits from Matalan - sheets etc. And cellular blankets from Mothercare.
I'm getting/have got - 3 moses basket fitted sheets, and 2 cellular blankets. 4 fitted cotbed sheets and 4 grow bags, with one large cellular blanket if it's really cold. 2 knitted pram blankets. (Make sure you check your sheets fit your mattress before you wash them- got some from mothercare and they didn't stretch to the size on the packet, but had already washed them and had a bit of hassle getting them changed)
Decoration - We've painted two walls "pebble" (light brown) and 2 walls cream. Put a neutral carpet down, getting a cream roller black out blind from argos, and some cream curtains. The theme is Girraffes. Matalan have a "My friends" range with has girraffes so getting the cot bumper/duvet set from there, also the changing mat and some grow bags. Also have a few bits in "Elli and Raff" which are cute. Haven't found any nursery stickers I like yet so may copy the design off the duvet onto a canvas for the wall and put a couple of the girraffes on the curtains.
What Pram/Pushchair is everyone getting? We've ordered the Mothercare My4. It's arriving on the 30th August unless we call them to say we need it sooner!
Getting really impatient now. And convinced baby is due earlier than 22nd Sept. My bump is huge!!! Not been measured yet and not going until 4th July so we'll see.
Got a lovely black Maternity Skirt from Next - really comfy and only £16. Hopefully it'll last.
Also on Maternity Clothes... New look mix the Maternity Sale in with either the plus sized sale stock or the ordinary sale stock but it's worth looking through, I got a 3 pack of tank tops £4.80, 2x short sleeve linen blouses (one purple, one white) for £4 each, a black smock type thing for £5, a plain beige tshirt for £5. And not maternity but they have some strappy tops, £1.99 each, that are long and stretchy and the hem at the bottom is stretchy too, got them in the next size up and they're great :-)
Discovered Heartburn this week... also discovered Gaviscon :-) and that you can get it on prescription!!! :-))
Don't forget if you order a free M&P catalogue you get £5 gift card - no minimum spend.
Had a dance lesson this morning - was totally exhausted afterwards!!! Not sure how much longer I'll be able to go for but hopefully a little while yet!
Also went back to the Osteopath - can't recommend it highly enough to anyone with back ache, slept brilliantly last night, and woke up with no aches.
Hopefully getting a new bathroom after pay day :-) OH is not quite convinced but I neeeeeeeeed to be able to wallow in the bath! And the current bathroom is not somewhere you could wallow. At all.
Sorry what a ramble!!!Bump due 22nd September0 -
Asda is pretty much the only place locally doing bras in my size- the problem I have is most places seem to go up in rib size as they go up in cup size. I'm getting massive in cup size (DH isn't complaining!), but rib size isn't changing- so I'm farily limited for choice. Saying that, I've some very, very pretty ones from Asda- anything above a G cup from M&S is horrible and white....
Hayleythedaisy- My DH and I are great at DIY. We updated our horrible bathroom a couple of years back (pink, orange and brown, the 70's really had no taste), for a lovely white and black. We plumbed/tiled/laid flooring/electrics ourselves, and with the money we saved by not having someone do that, we plumped for an 8-jet and whirlpool bath- it really is very enjoyable!0 -
OOOh how heavenly! We'll be doing it ourselves, although may get someone else to tile it - I'll see how up to it I feel. We are lucky that hubby's sister works for one of the big DIY/Builders shops so we're getting a massive discount on the suite - but currently there's a yellow suite, peach and grey tiles and pine panelling everywhere else... it did have grey and maroon carpet tiles until I pulled them up 2 weeks ago! Oh and the either doesn't flush or continues to flush for hours, and because of the positioning, we can't lift the cistern lid to stop it!
(We were going to have to wait for baby to come and save up but I'm having inward paddy's over it now and want it done now, so having the basic suite etc, just so long as it's functional!)Bump due 22nd September0 -
This is the bedding set from Matalan. It's £40, I've seen it in the store and it feels nice.
Bump due 22nd September0 -
This bedding stuff has got me really confused as to what to buy. Sheets, blankets, growbag etc! My mini brain can't figure out what I will need.0

She is talking rubbish you would have to spending 45 minutes out of every hour a day fidding with your nips and then it is still unlikely to have an effectLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi all just popping on to say hi before I go off packing again! Been in hospital most of the day!! DS2 decided to climb on top of the wooden playhouse yesterday afternoon and he fell off! He didn't cry that much and slept all night last night but this morning his wrist was bruised and swollen so took him to the doctors. Hospital and x-rays later he's only gone and broken his arm!! Feel so bad but he didn't complain about it at all. So now he's all plastered up just in time for our holiday aaaarrrrgghhhhhh!!!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0
