I have worn nursing bras for about 14 years off and on and my boobs stay where they are.. so long as they fit correctly and are supportive enough for the weight they stay put.

Droopy boobs are caued by the ligaments tha support them being stretched due to not wearing a bra or one which is not supportive enough.. ligaments unlike muscle cannot be toned or repaired so those who have saggy boobs a lot of it is genetic but a large percentage have done it themseves.. such as my sister who rarely wears a bra so hers are like those of a native tribeswoman.

The one they gave me to try on felt terrible... I'm sure they measured me wrong because the size they told me was way out and it was just really baggy, I was wondering how the hell that was going to be any different to going bra-less:eek:

Maybe I should see another fitter without a chip on her shoulder :rotfl:

I still love my underwires though. And I get my underwear from Tesco, I love their seasonal knickers :o so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.

ETA: I haven't noticed this thread going to the dogs? Unless it was me arriving that did it!

I havent noticed either  I dont think it was a very nice comment really lol.

Ive been wanting to get some nursing bras but have no idea how to work out sizes!

With regard to blankets, we have a few fleecy ones, a cellular one, some swaddle ones, but not sure really what is entirely needed. Not going to bother getting everything for the cot since he wont be in it at first. Its best to just take notice of Pigpen sometimes I think, since she is the dab hand at this baby lark :D

Ah ok, I have seen coverlet mentioned in a few of the bedding ranges. I quite like the Next Little Chickie one but at £70 I think I will just mix and match some other bits I see and like! :)

Are you a squeamish first time expectant mother?

I most definitely was! I gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Monday morning.

I can't wear M&S bras.. they are made for people with Dallas style shoulders.. which I don't have an the straps slip constantly. I don' think they are supportive enough either.

I have Royce ones which give me cone boobs.. but they are supportive and comfy, a hotmilk one which is lovely.. a panache one which is quite definitely my favourite.. gives a lovely shape, good support and easy to feed in.. Mothercare sizes are way way out. Emma Jane are nice supportive bras but big sizes so get a smaller cup ;) Miriam stoppard bras are nice but not supportive enough and small sizes... band and cup!

I have tried them all can you tell?

Freya do some nice ones but I want to try them before buying any as their usual bras fit oddly.

Well you are certainly the person to ask! Lol. I had the bra fitting ages ago so couldn't ask you because I did not know who you were :rotfl:

I have the shoulders, sadly, and the arms! Not so bad now I'm in a 14.16 top but when I was size 8/10 I couldn't get hoodies or tops with long sleeves because the shoulders were always tiny and the arms were always short!

Where is the best place to go for a fitting then? Not going to M&S again!

I love Bravissimo and they told me two weeks ago that they have been advised by various medical bodies that underwires are ok in pregnancy so long as they fit well. They are D+ only though and about the only place I can walk in and buy a bra :rotfl:

I would never go to M&S to get measured, they never measure you properly. Far better to go to a decent underwear supplier (normally a small privately owned shop rather than a chain) and get them to measure you. The one that i go to measures by eye rather than using a tape measure and then when i know my correct size i can shop around.

Also dont forget your boobs are only going to get bigger, so get yourself measured every couple of months or when your bra's are starting to feel uncomfortable xx

    Afternoon ladies and babies

Well after having a complete meltdown at 1am this morning with pain, heartburn and general feeling crappy, I went and had my consultant appointment on the day assessment unit.

I have a date for induction :D (sorry to queue jump) and am booked in for 26th June (39+1). I'm seeing the consultant on the 24th though and she is going to give me a stretch and sweep, and thinks that at 39 weeks with my 4th baby a sweep should be enough to get me started. I've never had a sweep before, so hope it works. I'm really pleased I have an end point now. She said that she would see me next week and then discuss a date, but I asked if I could just have a date now so I had something to focus on because I was struggling. She was more than happy to just book it there and then. I wasn't going to be allowed to go over anyway because of my antibodies, but somehow having an actual date makes it all seem so much better now :j Oh, and I've got some ranitidine (sp?) for my heartburn and reflux so I should get some relief from that too for the next few days.

We celebrated our new 'due date' by going for a pub lunch which was nice (stuffed now). Tomorrow is our 1st Wedding Anniversary so we're having a chinese and a small glass of wine with my parents, which I'm looking forward to. Now I just need to work out how to tell the ex-husband nicely that I'm in hospital next weekend when he has the kids and he may need to keep hold of them a bit longer than normal on Sunday, or return them early on Saturday night if that's too much effort for him :p

Re bras - I've been in maternity bras since about 10/11 weeks for comfort. I got them from Next. My nursing bras are from Mothercare. I've always been happy with M&S bras. Last pregnancy I actually just bought cheap non-wired bras from Matalan which were comfy.

Re bedding, we got the Little Puppy range from next and bought the 'bed in a bag' set for £70 which has a fitted sheet, coverlet, bumper and fleece blanket in. Also bought the matching quilt for when baby is a bit older, and a pack of extra matching fitted sheets. We really splashed out and got the curtains, rug, lightshade and wall canvas to match too :o:o:o But it looks so cute, and I've never had a baby nursery before (despite being on #4) so I wanted it perfect. I got a couple of cellular blankets from Asda really cheap, and some flat sheets too just in case I need them. I've probably bought far too much, which is the usual case with me! :rotfl:

We used to have a really good little shop here called Sadie the Bra Lady and it was wonderful. Like you say, they measure you by sight and they were pretty spot on! I went in with a friend once to get her fitted for a strapless bra, and whilst my friend was trying her bra on, the lady looked at me and told me I was wearing the wrong size and T-shirt bras did nothing for my chest. I went quite red at the time, but it was worth having her tell me what size I actually needed
