  • Had a bad day today but feeling a bit silly now. :o

My mental health seems to be declining rapidly & I appear to of worried everyone without meaning to.

I had an appointment at the antenatal assessment unit today but after driving around the hospital grounds for 30 mins I was too upset so went home.

Sat in the bath crying for 30 mins feeling sorry for myself thinking alsorts of crazy ideas that would probably shock you all.

Tbh i've been feeling really low for a couple of weeks now & have actually felt suicidal a couple of times recently but didn't want to worry anyone. :o

Anyway i've never had so many phone calls as i've had this afternoon & after breaking down on the phone to one of the hospital midwives i've now got quite a few more medical appointments in the next week.

I think everything has gotten on top of me & the lack of sleep coupled with no meds for my depression for the last 7 months has taken it's toll.

Sorry for feeling sorry for myself everyone but I just had to get everything off my chest so I can try to move forward.

Fingers crossed I feel abit better tomorrow.

I hope everyone is feeling as well as possible bar all the usual aches & pains. :A

  • I want to cry :(

Just been to the midwife and my usual one was on holiday. This one was lovely though, really really nice. Anyway, I am anaemic so need iron tablets, have thrush and tested positive for Group B Strep :(:(:(

Just so fed up now as even without any further rise in my antibody levels, which I might get tomorrow when I see my consultant, I have a 48hr stay in hospital guaranteed and antibiotics on drip through labour :(

I can't believe how many problems I've had this pregnancy. I'm thinking I might mention the induction word tomorrow afterall and see what they think about giving me a date.

On the plus side, the midwife measured me at 36 weeks (I'm 38 on Saturday) and said she doesn't see why the consultant was concerned over the growth. She said perhaps they are being over-cautious because of my antibodies, as they don't come across people 'like me' very often and it tends to send them into a panic.

Better go and start my iron tablets :(

    Big gentle (Hugs)) hun.

Nope - it's not just you! So many people have said to me "oh, i loved being pregant, enjoy it!" I also feel that I'm odd for not especially enjoying being permanently tired yet not being able to sleep, ever increasing in size, having regular heartburn/indigestion, having to pee constantly and then every so often a little fiesta starts up in my insides which just feels plain weird... I enjoy the concept of being pregnant and I'm very much looking foward to the end product, but in the meantime, i can't honestly say that I'm *enjoying* myself... no...

    Exactly how I feel! :o

I live in a rented house too & were not allowed to decorate so i'm going to get some of those big sticker things you can unpeal & restick.

Because I wanted to show it for the scaremongering that it is ;) We can all make our own minds up about 'research'...

We are all different I guess - personally I don't want to log on to a pregnancy support thread and see links like that - it's not useful for me - that said this thread isn't what it used to be and has gone to the dogs a bit in my opinion so I tend to post elsewhere and think I will stick to my grabbits on mse from now on since the folks I find supportive and want to keep in touch with are on the facebook group anyway ;)

Good luck to all ladies with their bumps and babies - wish you all well for the future ;)

BCS.. why have you not had meds for the last 7 months. There are some that are quite safe in pregnancy and you should have been changed to those if you already taking some. It is hardly surprising you are not a happy chicky.. you have had so much going on related to the pregnancy and then unrelated to it too.. My sister had a terrible scare with cervical cancer when pregnant with my neice, then had various problems with her employer and then the delivery and then the baby had fits and was in and out of hospital.. she is now 2.5 and always in and out with fits etc.. and she was diagnosed with PNI when DN was 6 months old.. it is totally understandable you are feeling low. I am so pleased you have managed to sort some help for yourself it will hopefully see you through the next couple of weeks and hopefully things will look brighter once you are holding that little one tight and safe.

Flower.. I'd go with pale lemon with a border or stickers maybe.

MrsS ... You can have a mobile IV so you can still walk about in labour.. just be firm and insist on what you want ... the hospital are providing a service for you.. you are not doing them the favour!! Thrush.. try to reduce your sugar intake, keep the nethers cool and dry.. cotton undies and if necessary change them a couple of times a day. There are homeopathic things you can try which are very good... I can't remember what it is without getting up.. I have some in the fridge.. I'll edit it in next time I remember. Anaemia.. I can't take any tabets/liquids etc... ask them about the injections.. TBH it takes weeks to have any effect on your Hb and it is the serum ferritin that is a proper indicator of anaemia as this is the store of iron your body has, if this is low you are actually anaemic if it is within normal ranges the chances are within days of delivery your body will get your Hb back to a normal level. Mine went from 8.1-9 in about 8 hours after I had squeak.
