Scottish Power Energy reward tariff

I've still not got mine either:(
It's giving me a headache deciding what to do...I don't want to miss out on the reward, but can't help but think that switching to a fixed deal (looking at npower go fix 6) is the right move for me!
I've emailed them tonight to clarify that I will get my reward payment and won't be charged if I switch.....I await a response!!
If you read the thread and your terms and conditions you will see that the qualifying has passed a long time ago.
You are free to move.0 -

As to timing of receipt of the Reward, this is what they told me today:
'Your current service package is Online Energy Reward which is due to expire on 31st July 2011 and there will be no cancellation charges if you will change your supplier after this date.
Your cash back amount of £105 will be credited to your account and will show on your bill after 1st August 2011.'

Looks like a load of rubbish as I have pointed out to them.
The letter we all received said:
'If you notify us that you wish to do this before 1st August 2011 and we receive a request for your supply from another supplier within 15 working days, we will not move you to our standard monthly Direct Debit prices or charge the agreed cancellation fee.'
It's about time, we had a consistent and definitive response from the Reps and that they sort out their incompetent call centre.

How bad is this?! I can't believe all this date changing. All this confirms that I made the right decision moving to another provider. This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

I'm confused,so are we free to start the move to suppliers without any penalty now or do we have to wait until after the 1st August, and if we start to move now will we still get our reward.0

Yes you will still get the reward. In any case if you start a move now it will easily take til late August or into September for the switch to go through. Also notify SP that you are switching and they should keep you on your current tariff until the move to another supplier takes place.0 -

As the Scottish Power Reps seem to have given up on this one, I will give you an answer.
You have a letter which clearly says you can switch prior to the end of the contract without penalty.
If you give them notice in writing, they will also hold prices until the switch goes through providing the new supplier lets them know within 15 working days.
Finally, the qualifying date to earn the reward of £105 was 7th June which has passed so that amount is safe.
When the Reward will be credited to your account is another matter and no one,not even Scottish Power, seem to have any consistent advice !
Crediting of the Reward has nothing to do with the switching process.
It is disappointing that other Customers have to give advice on such matters.0 -
The Scottish Power Rep looked at this thread at around 10.00 a.m. this morning.
I have been out since then and expected to see a helpful reply on my return.
I guess they are leaving their customers to sort it out for themselves as its all too difficult.0 -
Following my complaint, I have now received the email confirming what should happen:
'I have forwarded your request for the right to cancel in order to avoid the cancellation charge and increased unit prices. You will be contacted shortly.
If we receive a request for your supply from another supplier within 15 days we will not apply the price increase or the cancellation fee for your product.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.'
I hope this gives some reassurance to other switching customers.:)0 -

Thank you once again backfoot:)
I do hope you are submitting a bill to SP for doing the job of the SP rep who appears to have gone AWOL:p
I have bitten the bullet and arranged to switch and your above post could prove very useful should I have any problems!!
Many thanks:)0
