What a petty thread this has turned into, you should hear yourselves. My disease is bigger and better than your disease.

Well said and I fully agree with you.

I just want to let any new readers know that Luminated, GlasweJen and I were not talking to ourselves, there were posts asking questions and making accusations in between ours that have since been deleted... and are probably what soccermom is referring too.
    may your good days grow

Has Beller been banned today by any chance as i cant see any posts actually by him, all i could see where quotes from him especially from walper, its a bit strange how one disappears or is banned and hey presto today the next troll appears !
  • Edit I'll change that to within this weekend

The consultants have told me that I wouldn't ever have children because of major problems with blood circulation. Even with a heart transplant the blood flow to my pelvis probably wouldn't be adequate to support a pregnancy. Couple that with the immunosupressive drugs and the cocktail I need to take to stay functioning it probably wont ever happen.

That sucks, but it doesn't give you the right to be hateful and willfully ignorant about others who are also ill. Neither does the high-functioning autism. Sorry. However, if for medical reasons you are genuinely not able to refrain from being [EDITED] 'very unpleasant' in threads like this, then spare us and don't post in threads like this.

Fact, asthma is a killer condition. It does not matter whether you normally have it mildly or very bad it can still kill! So, this original poster has the condition very badly pretty much 24/7. Ok, go to appeal and make sure you only tell them about what your condition is like at the worst of times but do not elaborate this. This is very important and you are only telling them an answer to what they ask, it is not fudging or lying. Do not offer any insight into how you manage to cope with your condition as this will go against you. Many of us who get DLA have devised ways of 'coping' with our conditions; we've had to otherwise we wouldn't be living we'd be existing.

As for those deluded people who seem to come out of the woodwork and think we are 'lucky' to be able to claim DLA, well, I pity you. I would be more than happy to have my health back and to be able to work for my living and be proud about it. I'm not going to go into my health problems as that is not relevant all I will say is that I wish I did not have them simple as that. Relying on DLA is no joke and it is certainly not a nice little earner.

So my advice is to get help from CAB and do the Asthma Association give advice. Yes go for the appeal and find support from friends, family or this forum.

    My best wishes to you.

IMPORTANT! If you are aged 50 or over, AGE UK (formerly Age Concern) will give you all the help you need! They have been wonderful for both myself and my OH. She was turned down for DLA, but appealed with help from Age UK, and she succeeded. Age UK also checked on what I was getting and I had my benefits increased dramatically. Just ask them to do a benefits check for you. They are worth their weight in gold.:T

Nothing to do with the OP or any of the other comments just wanted to comment on what a remarkable society we live in. We have millions of people starving around the world and thousands dying every day due to no access to clean water.....and here in the UK people feel they should be entitled to money because they are a bit poorly/very ill. Most people on this forum are lucky beyond most of the rest of the world's wildest dreams.

You sound very embittered.:naughty: I had four jobs all at the same time - now I can't even do one. Would you like to swap places with me?

I won't comment on your use of the word embittered, that would make me sound pretentious. If you can't work but you have enough to eat and drink and a television then maybe I would consider swapping places with you as I work 40 hours a week plus overtime and then have to do a bar job at the weekends to pay my CSA.

...and I've been doing that for 5 years this August....
