Unfortunately there are a lot more columbo's on this site who's main objective is to point out flaws in everything anybody says about claiming benefits rather than trying to give help full advice, some try to act like they are giving constructive criticism but thats not really their objective their real objective is to make you feel like a criminal.
Op
The 1st thing i would advice you to do it look very closely at the criteria for each rate of DLA
You say you cant walk very far due you breathlessness, how far can you walk before you experience breathlessness?
If its less than 50 yards you will meet the criteria for high rate mobility but you will need supporting evidence that backs up your inability to walk.
Same with care needs look up the criteria and if you meet it get supporting evidence that proves this, i dot know if you will meet any of the critera or not but im not here to decide that or evern make assumptions thats the job of the dwp and the tribunals im just here to offer advice. i would also advise using the benifitsforwork forum, there are no trolls on that site and you will get much more helpfull replies than you will ever get on here the people on that site really know what they are talking about.0 -

And yet again you are judging, may be if you was to read my post properly it would clearly be seen to say that i wrote the post about DisneyLand on behalf of my Sister = so in other words it was written by my self about my sister thats why they are both written in the same style duh!!! As for spelling mistakes, no ones perfect!!!iluvmarmite wrote: »If the post about Euro Disney was on behalf of your sister you should have made that clear really, its been mentioned numerous times that staff from DWP, DLA WTC and CTC as well as other benefit organisations, read these forums, supposing, just supposing they have read your post, checked on the other posts you have made, put two and two together and found the real you? As in real name address etc, supposing someone you know, friend, maybe disgruntled relative (not saying you have any disgruntled relatives just using it as an example) have read what you have been posting and got in touch with DLA, you just never know.
As for mentioning the terminally ill patient going to Portugal, nothing wrong with that at all, as was said, there are organisations to help people go on holiday, those who have a terminal illness, those who are disabled through losing limbs and other such disibilities can, and have every right to go on holiday, its those who say they can barely get off the sofa, find it hard to look after their children, cant walk a few yards without collapsing or getting out of breath, they are the ones who look dubious and make doubt appear.
Yes of course you could have a carer with you, have a portable neb, but that wasnt mentioned in the holiday post, but then again you said it was written on behalf of your Sister so why should it be mentioned eh?
The porta neb was not mentioned in the Disney Land post because it was not about me therefore there was no need to ask questions about it in the Disney Land post.0 -

Love it, so true!!!0 -
Tell you what I'll do you a swap. This DLA claiming is a "trade" I wish I had been born in to it, that's all I can say.
You take on my unremitting chronic neuropathic pain, my loss of feeling in my right foot, my IBS, the constant falling, walking using a walking stick when able to do so, using a wheelchair if travelling more than 100 yards, depression, and take a cocktail of drugs everyday that leave you unable to think clearly, and then you can claim DLA whilst I get to finally live a pain free, normal, life where I can again run around playing sport, playing with my kids, enjoying the things people without disabilities take for granted.
Whats that........ No thanks.....
Didn't think so.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I can't believe I get the spanish inquisition for telling someone from the JCP that I was on a bus when I had claimed on my DLA form that I couldn't get around without help (and i was with my sister at the time btw) but then there are people who claim to be unable to walk a few yards and want DLA for asthma, unbelievable. I'll swap your asthma for my place on the heart transplant list any day of the week.0

You don't know what your talking about, you just saw the word 'asthma' and presume you know what it is. There are varying degrees and its not inconceivable that it can get severe enough to give serious mobility needs as described by the OP.
Really i'm surprised you'd post something so ignorant.0 -

I am so sorry to hear that you are waiting for a heart transplant.
However at the same time I feel so very angry that you have decided that Asthma is little more than having a cough or cold by your extremely erroneous perception.
My daughter had Asthma and was one of the worst sufferers known to the Asthma experts. At one, very black, time she spent as much time in hospital as she did at home. And every admission was an emergency with her becoming unconscious and turning blue due to lack of oxygen. Each of those times were dire as we never knew if she would survive.
She couldn't walk over the road without the risk of bringing on a severe attack and every attack was potentially life threatening. We met many in hospital that she befriended and some of them died.
So there are, in all disabilities and health conditions, huge variations so I suggest you be more open minded and less ignorant before you offend others like you have me.
Yes the OP had another questionable post that undermined her cause but that is no excuse.0 -
Completely agree. You don't know what your talking about, you just saw the word 'asthma' and presume you know what it is. There are varying degrees and its not inconceivable that it can get severe enough to give serious mobility needs as described by the OP.

TBH anyone who needs to carry round a nebuliser (I'm sure were talking full face mask job and not the little spray cannisters) has far worse symptoms than the ordinary asthma sufferer.
THB my time of asking for help on these boards for disability problems is coming to an end due to the increasing number of ignorant responses people get. Mainly from the Daily Mail readers/Conservative supporters who seem to believe (through listening to the vicious lies of the Tory government and it's propaganda outlet the Daily Mail) everyone claiming/attempting to claim DLA etc is a scrounger and isn't really disabled/ill.
IMO it is far better for people to join a forum which deals specifically with their illness/disability. There is likely to be lots of help re claiming the correct benefits on there from people who have very similar problems who can advise.
As with everything useful in this world, it is being spoiled by the ignorant minority.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Come on to God, I can't leave Glasgow city in case a heart appears out of nowhere. I am going to die, it's that simple. The OP has come on posting about going to France while being unable to walk a few yards - I bloody wish I could go to france, hell i'd kill for a day out in sunny saltcoats.0

So you are posting yet you don't see fit to offer an apology following my post at 8.31 this morning. Shame on you. After reading this forum for a very long time it seems those who suffer an ailment can have less sympathy than those who ar relatively fit?0
