I can't really knock Asda neither....
A couple of weeks ago, I bought a leg of lamb costing £13.Something....
Got it home and cooked it, only to find that it was heavily fatty...like loads more than you expect it to be.....
Anyway...didn't pursue it further, until next week I was chatting to their in store butcher about it and he said "raise it with customer services".
So I took the receipt to customer services from the week before......
(YES! FROM THE WEEK BEFORE! ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS! YOU'LL ALL LEARN!!!)
......and explained that the leg of lamb I bought was c**p and I want a refund, explaining the obvious that I couldn't bring the item back once it had been cooked and carved (and eaten!).
The girl told me to get another leg and they gave me it via customer services in replacement....free!
so it's not all bad (apart from the initial leg that is!!!!) :rotfl:Click COLOR=Red]HERE[/COLOR to participate in my latest finger exercise program!!0 -
glad wrote:I opened a pack of asda tortillas and found them to be mouldy although within date, the store would only offer to refund the cost so I emailed asda and had a standard email back saying the same,
I then wrote another email detailing the bother this had caused, the meal it had spoiled etc and how their customer care seemed to have deteriorated since being taken over by walmart, I received £25 asda vouchers in the post.
Emails won't cost so it may be worth persuing it.
Another option could be to use this complaints service http://www.howtocomplain.co.uk/ which I've used in the past.
sorry to sound a killjoy but they offered you a refund with no hassle?
that sounds pretty good to me!!!
some places could do to follow that for an examplethings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I gotta agree with Adsa have the best of the big chain customer service. I recently got a bottle of wine scanned twice at the checkout, but as it was on a booze trip and didn't really notice the extra £7. After checking the bill, I phoned up the store and was told to come in and they would refund. Turned up with my bill and informed customer services and they refunded no questioned asked and give me a gift card with £5 worth of credit! :beer:0

I *ALWAYS* check my receipt after shopping at ANY of the big supermarkets. Tesco and Sainsbury's (only these, I think) will refund the money and let you keep the item if they overcharge you - last Christmas I got a free bottle of whiskey because they overcharged and a few months ago got 25 quid of chicken breasts because of a mistake.
What massively irritates me (and I complain pretty much every time I go in - esp Tesco's) is they'll have an offer, which may sell out then restock the shelf with similar but different products, but leave the offer sign up. It happens so often, I'm sure it must be on purpose. You have to be so careful you don't get duped.

i am fuming with the customer service at ASDA lately,
no checkouts open and massive queues in the end i left the trolley and walked out (unfortunately i forgot id had to put a £1 in it - another of my hates) So £1 out of pocket but I'll live
then today in another store, a top which was the wrong size (read the hanger not the label) cost £9, £9 it said on the tag reduced from 14 when i took it back i was told the till says £7 and we always reduce to half price so you must of paid £7 (reciept lost) so now ive got £7 credit for a shop i dont want to shop in cause they are c**p. and a further £2 out of pocket.
And to naff me off more the "assistant" made me and a queue of 3 others wait while she hung up the returned items of the person before - customer service - i dont think so...grrr..
ASDA will never get another penny out of me, including petrol!! Show your distaste at their terrible attitude towards you by going elsewhere.Ready to Go Go!0 -

i find that there are such massive differences in stores that it's like a whole other company at different stores.
i wouldn't go to my local one 'cos they expect you to pay to park then claim the money back (subject to minimum spend), but would shop at another one 5 miles away where the people are really friendly, park for as long as you want and it's cheaper than any other supermarket (bar netto or somewhere like that)things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I put a thread on the 5* board for Asda.
I bought a pack of gammon steaks only to find out that one was huge and one was miniscule (not two evenly sized portions as I had expected).
I wrote to Asda, addressing my letter to the head of customer services (name from internet) and within a few days had a letter of apology and a £10 gift card.
Can't grumble about that!Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

some places could do to follow that for an example
but I was cooking a dinner for 4 guests and all other food was prepared, beef and prawn fajitas aren't quite the same without the tortillas, and a bit embarrassing with guests there too,I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I now check all recipts when i have been shopping, Then whilst completed a survey I came across a company called AC Nielsen I completed there survey and they asked me if I would be a panel member and scan all my home shopping Yes I said. Now got my scanner I check and scan shopping and they give you points which you convert to gifts. I have to admit it take about 10 minutes with a big shop to scan everything and maybe 2 years for the big gifts but just think longterm when your washing machine breaksdown and you cannot afford a new, USE the pointsEgg Loan £15000
