Thank you for this info - I'm so cross that I'll be taking this route too - any letter templates out there for this?

You don't really need a template letter to be honest.
Give them a call and register your complaint. Tell them you believe you have been mis sold a contract due to the non payment of their affiliate marketing. Not the easiest company to deal with and even the FOS had headaches! They have a duty to investigate complaints and you will receive a final response within 8 weeks. If that's negative, head to the FOS.
Cashback sites like Quidco and TCB are regulated by the FCA. You can register a complaint against them and Direct Line (UK Insurance). The more complaints registered the better, or else this 'scandal' will go on and on.
Quidco is a trading style of Maple Syrup Media Ltd which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for General Insurance mediation under register number 533105 and holds Interim Permission as a Credit Broker (interim permission number: 659018). Quidco does not charge any fees to customers in relation to Credit Broking activities.

I'll be very proactive this year with any issues and will chase up any payment delays from financial product purchases. Always chase up after 4 months max. Remember, they still have 8 weeks to investigate a complaint!
Firstly though, I'd get final confirmation from Quidco that they haven't received your owed monies. Direct Line can then be given a copy of the response. Saves a bit of time.
    Good luck.
No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.

A request to all cashback sites reading this that you STOP listing Direct Line - they make up their own minds whether to pay out. They apparently give no explanation to either the cashback site or consumer!

    Not much chance of this!
The higher tier rates cashback sites receive are massive and they won't want to give those up easily!
Complaining to the regulatory bodies (FCA and FOS) may be better options.

Could someone please confirm that Quidco do encrypt the data held on their databases ?
If they do - what level ?
If not - they run a huge risk of being another TalkTalk....
They have several million credit card and bank account details.

Exactly the same has happened to me. I'm furious!!
£70-£75 may not be a lot to some people but I was relying on this money to be paid back to me!

  • Hi,
On 12/1/16, I went through quidco to buy 2 hotel room reservation for 1 night at Marriott.
I received email from Marriott, saying reservation confirmed £199.80 charged.
But today(13/1/16) I have seen quidco activity, it showing tracked Purchase from Marriott is £6240.53.
and it keeps changing hourly, as in the morning it was £6237.18.
Is somebody hacked my account. Or is it Quidco is messing around?
In the morning I also open a case in Quidco, but I need quick answer for this.

    Hi @baks77

Thank you for your post and I am sorry to hear you have had this issue. Please be assured the likelihood of your account having been hacked is extremely slim. However I would highly recommend contacting the Quidco support team as they will be able to advise further on this.

    Hello.
I have Sky 6mb broadband, line rental and anytime calls package.
I want to change from Sky to a FIBRE isp and noticed TalkTalk.
Can somebody tell what cashback do i click through as it wiil be the same as Sky but with fibre instead of slow 6mb broadband.
I see there is an offer for simply broadband but i did a dummy order and that said Simply fibre broadband, line rental and calls on the dummy order.
I have a phone line now but if i get fibre it will be a new fibre connection. I am not sure of the cashback amounts as theye seem to be not very clear.

    Really ?
Nobody voluntarily joins talktalk these days !!
I would pick Sky any day over talktalk
Don't fall for tt's sweet talking / offers / freebies - unless you want the whole thing to come crashing down on your head !

We are realy unhappy at Quidco. We saw your Carex ClickSnap offer at Tesco, bought the product, went to submit it. Only then do we discover that the retailer isn't Tesco as displayed on your page. It is Tesco.com.

(You will doubtless say we could have clicked through into the 'offer details' before buying, but they are never worth clicking, because they never add anything. All you need - the timespan, product, cashback and retailer are in the main offer page.)

You just displayed the wrong retailer. This is mis-selling. and we will be making a claim for a goodwill payment of £1.50. And a suggestion to get the retailer correct in future.
