  • My Carphone Warehouse cashback for the 2 free Lebara sims promotion has declined today - And reading through other threads on the forum everyone that ordered these sims has been declined too.

Originally i submitted a claim as my order tracked at £0.00 - The claim was closed and i was told not to worry it would change to £8 when ready to be paid and now its been declined:mad:Also when you raise a cashback claim for them you can only claim for 1 sim [£4] even though i ordered 2 so should be £8

This was a big promotion on Quidco and mentioned throughout the site several times - Any advice Jules? Or any reason behind why 100% of transactions seem to have been declined?

Have they taken their £5 annual charge? You might have had a further £1.50 confirmed which they have taken along with an additional £3.50 perhaps?

That was my initial thought - Carphone Warehouse decline all of the transactions in the hope people won't challenge the decision and anyone that ordered will just being happy with the free credit - Carphone Warehouse then get to drag their heels with anyone that does raise a claim and take several months before actually paying up! • This was posted in the 'Help' section on Quidco when people initially questioned why the Carphone Warehouse transactions were tracking at £0.00 rather than £4 or £8 for the Lebara sims -
It's normal for Carphone Warehouse purchases to track at the wrong rate initially before updating automatically a little later on.

Here's the wording from their Terms and Conditions on our site:
"Cashback may initially track at a higher or lower rate then stated. This will be updated to the full cashback rate upon confirmation."

Therefore there's no need to take any further action at this time as we'll keep an eye on this for you.

      Good morning,

Strange! I posted on here on Friday and it seems to have disappeared. Oh well, here goes again (of of course I’ll answer any posts that have arrived since then!)

@MDStalker – Vodafone do accept cashback claims for purchases but not, I’m afraid, for free SIMS. We do make this clear on their page on our site so I’m sorry if you didn’t spot it. I’ve pasted the working below for you:

“Please ensure you clear the cookies on your web browser before logging in to Quidco and proceeding with your Vodafone transaction as Cashback Claims are not accepted on this retailer.”

As regards your RAC query, the BACS rule applies to the method of payment you select for cashback to be paid to you by Quidco and not to the actual method of payment for your purchase. You can pay by card etc. but you do have to pay the annual premium in full to qualify for cashback from RAC.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had tracking problems lately. Unfortunately we don’t carry out tracking ourselves; that’s done by the affiliate networks used by the retailers on our site. Clearing cookies will minimise the risk of tracking failure but I’m afraid we can never guarantee it altogether which is why we are happy to send off a cashback claim to for you if the retailer accepts claims.

@watto1990 – I’m sorry you’ve been waiting so long. We are chasing these payments up. We can never promise that cashback will be paid or that it will be paid within a certain period as there are no guaranteed payment times within the cashback industry. If a payment takes longer than we would expect, we do of course chase it up for you as we don’t like cashback to be delayed for our customers.

@iduno86 – the good news is that the affiliate network used by these merchants has advised us that they are sending a payment this week, which will bring all transactions to back within their normal payment times. We met personally with the network the other week to stress the urgency for our customers, and they have been getting up to date with these after a long processing delay caused by large systems and personnel changes. We agree that this delay has been unacceptable too and we are hopeful that the payment will arrive as promised so that we can get it applied to relevant Quidco accounts in time for the payment run on 15 August.

@MorrisonsEmployee & @Silk – we are looking into this at the moment as they have declined all of these. Please don’t raise a claim for now as we’re trying to get it rectified without the need for this, In the meantime, we are taking this very seriously and we hope to get a response for you as soon as possible. I’m sorry for any concern this has caused.

@ctykid5. It sounds as though this could be part of your admin fee, which is £5 annually. If you can’t see a reference to that on your account pages, please contact the Quidcare Team and they will be able to advise you. The question you want is:

“I have cashback in “confirmed” status – Why has Quidco not paid me?”

      Kind regards,

      Jules

Then why was I given the 60 day estimate in the first place then? If Quidco knew there was no way to make such an estimate with any accuracy at all?

It feels more and more that I've been strung along until Quidco could get their hands on my membership fee...

My last correspondence with customer services tells me that:
I am pleased to inform you that your transaction has been approved by the merchant.

Once the cashback has been received from the merchant the status will change to confirmed and once confirmed it will be ready to be paid.
Yet my tracked cashback stubbornly remains at £0.00.

This experience has been utterly infuriating, and a harsh lesson about "the cashback industry" has been learnt.

But hey, you've got another membership fee and Three got me to buy a phone and sign a two year contract I wouldn't have even considered paying for without that £106 cashback so win-win all round!

      Hi Jules,

Good to hear there is some movement. As the network are sending the payments through can you ensure these are prioritised for application to the account in time for the 15th August. This has taken since December (over 8 months) for this situation to be resolved.
    • I seem to be really unlucky with cashback for breakdown cover Last year i bought AA breakdown cover as the cashback was more than the RAC and this never got paid to me even though i put in a claim and got e-mail saying they were looking into why lots of people didn't get there cashback After a few months i got another e-mail saying that cashback was declined and that was that No money tough luck/ I had a call last week from the AA asking why i wasn't renewing this year i told them because i hadn't been paid my cashback The guy on the phone told me it was down to quidco not the AA i hadn't been paid and the AA weren't happy they had lost business as people not just me had not renewed there policy So who is to blame really Quidco or the AA
This year i though i would try the RAC and get cashback from them This has been declined Again i paid it in full went through quidco all in one go I have done nothing different to all the other purchases i do going through quidco Yet surprise surrprise again my cashback has been declined I have had to appeal again I doubt i will get my cashback this time either as other people seem to be having the same problem I suppose quidco will blame RAC and Rac will blame quidco
I really hope my car ins quidco gets paid out i bet it doesn't as everything i purchase online for my car seems to get declined If it gets declined that's £100 cashback i have lost out on and at the minute every single penny counts
