Hi, I switched to the OES 14 only last week am I right in thinking there isn't a hike on this tarrif, because surely there is? Does anyone know if there is a "cooling-off" period and I can back-out and find a fixed deal elsewhere?
I just switched and it says on the site it is not affected by the price rises.Just in time.

    Hi,

I moved to SP OES12 in February.
Following advice on here, I have finally managed to log in to change plans.

There appears to be two capped 2013 offers, with one having no standing charge. Do I assume this is the better deal? I currently pay £72 per month for gas and electricity.

The only way to save any money is just not to use as much...

I started doing it that way but they get you again because you don't drop down to their tier 2 cheaper rate because, you've used less!.

I went for the no standing charge option.

Gas prices for me in Birmingham are:7.802 p for the first 670 kWh per quarter, and 3.091 p thereafter

Ekectricity is 21.902 p for the first 225 kWh per quarter, and 11.426 p thereafter

    this is with the VAT
  • I'm also on the online saver 12, but when I've just done the sums on the capped 2013, it comes out as more expensive, especially on the electricity and the primary figure than the online saver with the 10% and 19% increases applied. Does this sound likely? I wonder what the chances are of escaping the exit charge?

http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/PDF/OLESaver12_v2.pdf will list the new prices

Don't just assume that 10% and 19% will be added. In my case with online saver 11 it was a lot more

Sorry to be thick, but I don't have an area code as I don't have a paper bill.
I'm in Newcastle, so assume I'm NORTHERN.

    I currently pay (inc VAT)
Electricity 18.035p for first 225 kwh, then 8.185p
    Gas 5.216p for first 670kwh then 2.710p

Can anyone help me work out if I'm better staying on OES12 or moving please?

    Thank you.

So how does that compare with the capped 2013 with no standing charge deal please?

Thanks very much for that. Man alive, you're not kidding about the extent of the increases.
