Hello,
Well, everything seems to be going a bit pear shaped today. A good friend of mine was supposed to be coming on Tuesday, which I was *really* looking forward to - just got a text saying he would rather go and see Kasabien instead, so thanks a lot!
In offering our place for everyone to crash at tomorrow night, I simply asked that they let me know if they were/were not staying a couple of days in advance so that I could get food in etc. Have they? No! So they can starve for all I care. Why try and be a good hostess to ignorant guests?
Bought my car insurance (Kwik Fit) through TopCashBack - they wouldn't let me buy the policy online, I had to ring them up to arrange it instead. Now they won't pay me my cashback (£36) because I rang them instead of buying it online.
So, as you can see, its all getting on top of me today. Its only lots of tea and the British stiff upper lip thats stopping me bursting into tears. Might go ice skating in a minute to cheer myself up.
Have done a couple of washloads today, went into town to pick up sewing scissors so NOW I can make OH's stocking . He has finished wrapping all my presents! (at the expense of writing the Xmas cards though). Might do the ironing later.
Breakfast Toast
Lunch: All Day Breakfast Butty - Hash Browns made from left over mashed potato
Dinner: Lasagne and salad
Hope you all had a good day.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Yes, that is what struck me about this thread - how nice everyone is!
OH and I are both at home at the moment - both been made redundant, but it does mean I am way ahead with all Christmas preparations.
All pressies bought and wrapped. All cards made (I make my own and start about May each year to spread the load). All cards written and sent.
Meals planned up to 3 Jan 07 (how scary organised am I?) - using up storecupboard stuff as per OS.
I already made 1 big Christmas cake (10") and divided into 4, iced 3 (amateurishly), decorated all 4 - 3 are gifts for ballroom buddies, one for me.
Tomorrow my sister, BIL and gorgeous 7 yr old niece arrive from Gibraltar :j We are just a 24 hour stopover as they head for South Africa to spend Christmas with my Mom and Dad, but I have not seen them since Jan, so I am well excited!
Prepared rooms for them
Roasted some chicken thighs today to shred as sarnie fillers for guests.
Leftover marzipan (from cakes) used to make cookie shapes, and coated in melted chocolate today (with some little silver decorating balls)
One load washing done.
Guess I should go start some tea now!Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

I have just remembered how utterly rubbish at sewing I am - couldn't cut straight if my life depended on it - my cut lines are all ragged  This wouldn't be so bad if the stocking had a seam, but it doesn't, its fleece so is just being sewn straight together.
Tell me it will look better when its sewn...should I have pinned it better (it did seem to be quite 'wrinkled' where I pinned it, but no matter which way/how many/few pins I used it was always the same.
When I have a job, I'm investing in sewing lessons  This is what happens when you take GCSE Electronics instead of Textiles/Food.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
