Morning everyone
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th Dec 06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hello all, hope everyone is as well as can be - especially those who are in low spirits at the moment...be kind to yourselves.
My day yesterday was OK, though I was not at all impressed by the customer who wanted help with his shopping to his car. It was raining, but the twit couldn't find his car. He had me walking round in circles pushing a trolley full of booze for around 20 minutes. He decided it had been stolen and was getting in a right flap, and even blamed the car park for being "stupid" and "impossible". Once I'd persuaded him to let me stand inside with the shopping he then walked up and down the rows looking at the cars rather than relying on his key fob to activate the lights on his car he found it:mad:. He didn't have the wit to use his eyeballs in the first place - it turned out we'd passed his car several times. Grrr!! And do you think he bothered to say thank you, especially as I was cold and wet because of him? Well of course not!! Rant over!!!!!
Today is another day at w*r* of course, but with an earlier finish at 5.30 pm. I'll use some time this evening to do a spot of housework - if I can keep my eyes open that is. Being up in the middle of the night like I am at the moment isn't at all conducive to being productive later in the day.
Have a fabulous Thursday everyone. Again, big hugs to those feeling bad whether physically, emotionally, spiritually - or any combination of those. Please keep checking in here, we're very good listeners.
Bye all.

Morning Snowyowl and all that follow.
Snowyowl, I too have done the "my car has been stolen" routine in a car park. It was a multi storey and I was *sure* I parked on the bottom floor. Searched all over and couldn't find the car so pressed the help button in the car park and a lovely attendent came to assist who persauded me to check on another floor. Lo and behold the car was there. Of course I insisted someone must have moved it
Wouldn't have been just has bad if the week before I hadn't locked my car (and house keys) in the same car park thinking it was open until 8pm and not 6pm
Can't sleep here. Racking cough is keeping me awake and don't want to disturb hubby too much. I can always have a nap later.
No work today but lots to do:
- One or two loads of washing
- Clean bathroom
- Ironing
- Few bits of paperwork and admin type stuff
- Try and clean a few grubby marks on sofa
- Hopefully finish wrapping presents
- All other rooms a quick tidy, hoover and dust
Just remembered meant to take a chicken out to defrost for dinner and forgot so need to plan something else.
Well, off for a browse
Have a great day0 -
Morning SnowyOwl ans Skystar
SnowyOwl - That is so rude, I really would have to bite my toungue extremely hard if I was in your position and it would be 50/50 as to whether I would snap.
Skystar - Sounds like we are having a similar night
Well my poor ds is really under the weather, I have been up with him since 2am and he is now snuggled up fast asleep in my bed after having some calpol. He has actually lost his little voice and has a raging temperature which is not good as he is supposedly narrating the school christmas play this afternoon. I just can't see him being able to do it and I was really looking forwards to seeing it especially as they only do a performance every 2 years. I will have to call the teacher and see if she wants us to bring him in for the play this afternoon if he is better. I have a feeling if I am going to get it, it is probably going to hiy me bang on christmas day.
So, I have been lying in bed for 2 hours with my mind buzzing.First thought was what to have fror dinnerand so I have just taken out some mince to make a healing shepherds pie later. Oh and I have been mulling over a few moneyspinning ideas lately and one of them has good potential so I have been going over that again and again.
I'm guessing if ds is at home I might be making a visit to the video shop (still call it that even though we use dvd's!), I might even treat him to some of their naughty, rich and overpriced icecream if his throat is still really sore. I doubt whether I am going to go back to sleep now especially as ds is now snoring his head off so might go and get productive downstairs before crashing later.
I hope everyone has a good dayand my thoughts go out to those that are poorly, down, anxious and tired.

It is afternoon here in malaysia and I am here for my nephew's wedding on the 23rd.
I was at the bank today and I could see this european gentleman was getting het up over directions to the post office which the bank person was trying to tell him.
I went up to him and volunteered to take him if he allows me to do so.
Turned out he's a recovering alchoholic and not allowed to drive.
So we went out and I then give him directions on how to walk there and he told me he was from holland and the for the next 1/2 hour he told me about himself, about buying property and I then had to put up my umbrella as it was so hot.
Eventually he went on his way and I hope he got there as I kept wondering
whether he would remember what I said as he was so animated talking about himself and his friend's properties.I even told him what the .p.office looks like as it is in our malay language.
Regarding the car park fiasco, 2 years ago 3 of us were at a great shopping mall in K.L. Again we were here for another nephew's wedding.Well when we came out, none of us could remember which floor the car was and guess what, my brother(he lives in australia) who also happens to be the driver blamed my sister and I.Honestly!
We did find it in the end.
Good day to you all.0 -

Morning Guys!
Not feeling well this morning and think I have a head cold.
DW has been emptied and toilet cleaned. WM doesnt need to go on and we have only done 4 loads since last Saturday so this bigger WM seems to be doing its job:D
DD off to Germany tonight:eek:      ....but Im sure she will be ok;) We are planning on a film and a salad bar from Morrisons and then we have been invited to nephews for an Indian...their treat for our anniversary. Its going to be quiet without her here, but want to have a good time too, or I will be pining after her:rolleyes: Grandparents gave her 40 Euros and we changed up another 15 yesterday, so it has cost us hrdly anything....we have been very lucky. Have got her some grub for the trip but they eat a big breakie in the morning and can buy whatever over there. Have her passport and the number we need to give them for the medical service if needed over there...gulp!! Im so nervous and feel sick whenever I think of it.
Manged to secure an Asda slot for next friday but dont know if I really need it or not...I have nearly everything and have a ton of vouchers for Waitrose so can shop there as many vouchers need using. I have a £10 off a £50 shop at asda, so may treat ourselves to some Baileys/booze if theres nothing else I need....well...it is xmas!
Today I must crack on with my 2 essays and have a couple of videos to watch to help with this...lovely:p
OH has some stuff to do round the house and my kitchen is looking lovely. The lighter colours make it look bigger and brighter.
Anyway, I have to get ready for my jabs (GP coming out at 8) and have a shower. He's trying to boost me up for the Xmas period.
Breakie: Bacon Roll
Lunch: Baked Spud, Ham and salad
Dinner: Roast Lamb, Roasties, Mash, Yorkies, Carrots, Green Beans, Stuffing & Mint Gravy
Have a great day everyone. HUgs to all.

Good morning everyone,
while I had a few minutes spare this morning I thought I'd come and say hello - it's not something that happens often in the morning!
Off to work soon, where I'm getting some orders put together, then I think I really should try and get the christmas decorations put up when I come home  Then must get the WM on and sort out the cupboards to see exactly whats in there
*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please - hope you all have as good a day as possible.0 -

Goodmorning all,
I'm here Amandafeeling grotty & sandy. My hair's like straw. Off for another night of work at the house. Thought I'd post here first as it will be late until I get home. Done quite a lot today but the painting won't get done as we run out of undercoat. Not too sure how the cricket is going but I have faith we're doing well.
It's easy to lose your car Snowy.I've done it on numerous occassions. Fancy him being so rude to you. I would have said something.
Better go and put my *easy* tea on
(((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to those who are under the weather. Catch ya later. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
