Today has been really busy.  I have dropped off children's clothes to local shop that sells them on my behalf and we split the takings.  You have to make an appointment to take a bag in now so been waiting for over a month to take it in as previous appointment was during lockdown.  I have completed the new shelving unit and placed in the garage - not bad if i do say so.  I read the measurements, but its not as big as i had imagined.  I need to find a space saving idea for scooters and their sports bags (very large and too big for shelving units).  Got bike rack type things arriving soon and that will clear another space.   I've also been to my dads to collect the last of OH's things as far as i can see, so he can take it back when he drops off the children.  I swapped bikes for youngest DD as dad had a better sized one.  Need to sell small one and it can go towards garage makeover / mortgage fund.  I've went shopping for the few bits i can only get at Lid!.  Weeded and planted some lavender that has been sitting in the pots from supermarket for at least 2 weeks if not more.  Its now where it can grown and smell lovely.
Still no child maintenance even though due today.  I will give him a week to see.
Anyway feeling pretty good at what i have achieved today.  Going to have a shower and watch film in bed i think :)

Hi everyone, not managed much today as i was waiting for brother to come round to help with a few bits.  Turns out that he was working today and then got distracted.  Anyway we will try again tomorrow.  DS is getting a haircut at the barbers tomorrow as i haven't quite mastered it yet.  I will be paying attention on how its done, if i'm allowed to stay.
Still no child support from OH - really don't want to go down the chasing for it, but he may leave me no choice :(  Also no news or progress on divorce - surely cant be much longer before something happens.  Oh well lots to do before my uncle arrives on thursday so best get early night

Well i have sent OH a polite reminder about child support.  No doubt it wont be seen in that way but there we go, I await the abusive text back.  He wont be able to say i haven't given him fair warning if it goes down the collection through his wages route.  Fingers crossed today is the day that there is some sign of movement on the mortgage.  Please all cross those fingers lol

Well polite answers so far....he thought child support would transfer money from his account to mine.  Did he not see the nice big balance building up in his account.  Anyway i have sent another polite text back saying no you need to tfr money to me, unless he wants them to collect direct from his wages, but it will cost him another £100 per month so perhaps he should do it!  I have said i am happy if it is done weekly as he is paid weekly so it makes sense, plus i know i am more likely to get the full amount then and he wont have spent it by the due date.  Anyway after he text again saying he doesn't have their number, so cant speak to them, i have now found and given the number to him.  Its like he is living here again and i am sorting it all out for him, and i know he has an email of the letter so i am sure the same number is probably on the top of it.  Really hope that wasn't a silly move and they don't believe his sob story.  I guess we will see.

Well i'm not sure if he spoke to them but he has just asked how much i was supposed to get and its now in my bank account.  I am definitely going to make a spreadsheet to track payments as i am sure some will be forgotten or missed and he may need a nudge every now and again.  Plus if he does go down the route of weekly payments there will be a lot more to keep track of. Glad i didn't need to go down the route of getting them to chase it.  Think i will leave him working out how much pension he has for the finance form, for another day.  I think / know that would push him over the edge lol

Thanks Aspiration, that's what i am hoping.  Not sure if it was he couldn't get through to them or they told him tough pay up lol.  Either way its in the bank.  My bank account was looking a little low and i know i am only going to get a very small pay packet this month as I've done very few hours compared to the same time last year.  I can still afford everything, but some of the savings pots might not get as much as first thought and had hoped.  Next month i will get paid for 2 weeks worth of holiday, but not sure if its based on normal weeks hours or current weeks hours.  Either was it will be 2 very low months wages.

Nothing much to report today other than we went to see OH lovely Nana (perhaps the only family member that does love us enough to keep on touch).  We took her to the beach - had a pound each on the 2p machines, a bag of chips and then played on the beach.  It was a high tide so lots of people on the smallish bit of beach left.  We did find a spot that was safe and away from people but i would have preferred it a little less crowded.  We hadn't intended on going to the beach, but when she suggested it we jumped at the idea.  I felt very unprepared but found picnic blanket in boot of car and Nana had some old buckets.  We all had great fun, and were too tired to tidy ready for our visitor tomorrow.  Thankfully he isn't coming until late afternoon, so we have a little while tomorrow to straighten things up. I am however sun burnt as i didn't have cream on as thought we would stay indoors at hers and not be in the hot sun most of the day.  Never mind after sun now applied.  Nana paid for the chips, so only 2ps and petrol to come out of the holiday funds.

I'm melting!  Too hot for me and the kids.  We haven't really done much other than open the windows and doors and sit in clothing that i would not leave the house in (and hoping we don't get any visitors at the door).  We have 3 windows that wont open.  OH has been meaning to speak with his uncle who fits windows for a living (ours included years ago) to get him to come and mend them.  Well obviously he never did and uncle now wont answer the phone, so i have called a local company who are coming round tomorrow as i need them open in this heat.  I'm hoping they wont be too expensive but something else that needed doing.  After 3+ years it will be great to open them.
My Uncle had fun at the weekend when he came to stay.  He taught me how to use the drill correctly and i have put up the 4 bike stands in the garage all by myself - another victory for me.  He also helped paint bathroom a little and clean the light fitting in the kitchen.  Not really a rest for him, but he isn't one for sitting around.
I guess at least in this heatwave we haven't been anywhere to spend any money so that's a bonus.  The tomatoes, lettuce and strawberries are all doing really well in the garden.  I did cash out £58 from the survey site and have squirreled it away for another day.  Also bough mum's xmas present so i can send it in plenty of time.  Might need a little something to add to it, but the main bit is there.
I have been trying to get to grips with the home voucher the government will be offering in Sept.  I would love solar panels, but don't think they are included for some reason.  Also as house is still in both mine and OH's name would i get the lower voucher rather than the higher voucher as he isn't low income or benefits, and would i need to get his permission to do the work?  Lots to find out.
