Right as i now have no spare money again and all emergency pots and savings pots are empty due to car, holiday and a rush on birthdays, i now need to stop spending money on little things, as these little things soon add up to big overspends. I have a notebook where i will be writing my spends for the month to see where most of it is going. I think the key is to stay at home as much as possible so i cant spend!

I have been looking through other threads for cheap ideas for food, entertainment etc. Hoping to take on a few ideas to keep costs low. My budget looks good and i could in theory get some good savings. I need to buy some mince for cheap meals and some cheap cuts of meat and then it will only be milk fruit and bread that i should need each week as i have a lot of stock i can use up - well thats the plan :)

I will also be putting money towards next years holiday so we can afford a few nice treats - but as i have a whole year i can do this gradually and not a mad rush like this year. Forgot to mention we emptied our penny jar and had just over £21 that was for treats on hol. This is pennies and bits that we find on the floor throughout the year, plus OH doesnt like pennies so tends to leave them for us. Also when he is preparing his banger cars and pulls everything out there are more often than not sseveral pennies under seats and carpets. These go straight in to the pot and will continue to do so ready for next year.

Just one more useless bit of information before i leave you. This summer hols we are having an alphabet holiday. We are working our way though A - Z and each day we have to do and eat things that begin with the letter. Today is H so they are currently making hama bead hearts and it was ham sandwiches for lunch. Will also be doing handprints, hopscotch if time and maybe housework if i can get them to do this! - keeps them entertained and no two days are the same

Right sorry for so many long posts x

Ok as well have run out of treats until our AP order arrives i have made some muffins so i dont go to the shops. I am however very low on washing liquid and milk, but will try to eek these out until weekend. Have had no caffine today so i am feeling a little short tempered - poor kids - will have to wait until weekend if i can though as no money for anything and hopefully if i sent OH he will pay as i didnt get much housekeeping this week off him - it was his week he pays bills plus basic pay week as he had holiday so not much left!

Really do feel like we are sturggling at the mo, and lots of little things keep popping up like kids birthday parties - got 5 this month and one of those is twins so 6 pressies to buy / make.

I also owe Avon a little bit of money as i didnt pay them for my last order but had to use it for urgent bills - things are under control but only just. Need OH to get some good hours in which is just not happening at the mo - very slow some days so he is home earlier than normal. I will scrip and save and see what we can do without.

On a positive today will be a NSD - number 3 of the month as were not going anywhere so cant spend :)

Hi there i saw it on pin interest a while back but have since seen on the email for here its one of their cheap ideas. We have played I spy today and i told them to be invisible! and eaten ice lollies. Thought it might help DS in the preperation for school although he isnt really interested in that part but does like the food bits. Found out my AP order will arrive tomorrow. Willl be interested to see the quality of whats arriving - i already know a few bits out of stock so they have credited my account ready for next time.

I am hoping i can stay focused by writing everything down - its strange that i always check everyone elses diaries each day but cant keep my one going for more than a week at a time!

Got curry tonight but may have a rethink as i have some nann bread and mango chutney arriving tomorrow that would go really nicely with it - although bit late in the day to change my mind now. Oh well think we will be having it quite a lot with the quantities i have bought :)

Must go see what kids are up to as it has suddenly gone very quiet

i am looking forward to it too :) No popadoms though. Have just been told by OH that this week is the holiday pay so looks like i wont get any or very little money this week either plus apparently he owes more people money. Not sure how we will cope. Got hardly anything else to sell and no way to make money. Seems like its one step forward and 2 steps back.

Hopefully it will seem better in the morning :)

Have just exchanged £5 worth of my Mr T vouchers to buy DS school shoes so i dont have to find real money. Now only need shorts for DS, shoes for DD and socks for both kids as we have a sock eating monster in the house it would appear. DD also needs a new lunchbox as it would apear its only dirty as i dont give her a wipe for her mouth - only taken 2 years for her to ask for one - did tell her she could have gone to the bathroom and washed her face! The inside has also disintergrated but will be providing her with a packet of wipes this year :)

Might write a shopping list for food and clothes etc in the morning for time between now and when they go back to school. Need to find money from somewhere so might ask around for the shorts from soe mums who have older kids.

DD can make do with plastic tub for a while if need be and might get away with last years shoes for another few weeks, but seriously need socks.

Got all name tags so better get sewing them in or i will be buying new uniform before the 1st half term is out! Need to write lists - always feel better with lists :)
