well 1st day in october and yay i have managed a NSD. Its been too hot to do much so been doing the washing and pottering around the house so therefore no oportunities to spend. Bad news is that i havent managed my make £5 a day for today yet. Got brothers camera so need to photograph everything for ebay and hopefully that will help with this challenge.

Some of OH's friends have been saying that their firms are looking for drivers so will get him to ring those on monday to apply. Its definately my mission to get him a job by end of week latest :)

sorry in advance for this rant - i know you cant do anything i just need to vent my frustration.

OH has man flu and wont get out of bed to find a job. He says that he is already with agency and when they have work for him they will ring him. Told him hhe needs to ring the one more relevant for his new qualification but he doesnt want the hassel! I need the money to pay the bills so he will have to pull his finger out but is getting angry that i am talking money (he has never liked this) but i need to or we will have no house!

Sorry to be negative, i am sure he will get out of bed eventually when its his idea (such a man thing). all spare money has now been used up so its totally down to him. Feel like getting a job myself and leaving him at home.

Hopefully back to my norma self tomorrow :)

ok well he is out of bed and has gone off. Just got a text message saying he has been to the job centre and the only jobs available are through the agency that i told him to ring - shock horror as i had been on job centre website - When will he ever listen? Still not rung them but he is now off visiting local lorry places and asking them. Still think he should be ringing but never mind at least he is up and trying

  • Well done on hubby for passing :D but give him a firm kick up the backside now! DH is the same if i talk about money, goes all huffy and won't talk to me, sigh! I kind of give up and just get on with things as best as i can until he comes round! I hope he gets a job soon and no harm in applying for the 57k one! I would! All good experience even if he only gets an interview :)

Good luck with your £5 a day, i saw the £10 a day thread and thought, no way! Be nice if i could make that much extra each day, even if only for one month!

    Keep smiling :) x

thanks DFW for your kind words - its great to know i am not the only one banging head against wall sometimes.

Well agency found him some work today but i really feel yesterday was a wasted oportunity. He did look for 10 mins in job centre and around a few of the local lorry companies with no success, but then spent most of the day down the yard helping out with friends cars! I really feel sorting our car out ready for its MOT in a few weeks would be more constructive. Also have a lot of gardening he could be finishing off ready for the sun to disappear.

Anyway enough moaning about him, i did a survey last night for £3 so will count that as part of my make £5 a day. Not doing that well yet but i guess its £3/£20 so its a start. Also hope today will be a NSD as dont need anything. Would like some diet coke but will try to resist as i cant afford it really. Also need to get last few books in for avon as need to place order tomorrow. Lets hope for a few last orders :)

Hope everyone has a good day

Hi slm - I would be ranting too.... Hopefully he will sort himself out soon. It is a really delicate balance between motivating people enough to take action and pushing them into rebellion.... I struggle sometimes with that Hopefully your OH will come round.... he could be scared of change, not sure he's good enough etc and perhaps scared of rejection - it may not be something as simple as laziness or man flu! Hope for your peace of mind it all gets sorted soon

thank you for that i do have to remember although he acts all tough on the outside he is quite delicate on the inside and not good at new things even when he actually wants it.

    Thanks again

  • slm next time you do the weekly shop buy your cola from the supermarket and own brand! I drink this all the time now (56p or something in tesco) and put a slice of lemon in and some ice cubes and you honestly can't tell the taste difference ;) - i buy 4 a week :o it's my guilty sin lol, but if i didn't buy it i would usually crack and end up paying silly money at the local shop for it, so now it goes into the budget lol, i need it :p

I also spent the afternoon in the garden sorting out the shed! That was DH's job, ooooh, 6 months ago. Never did it, and i'm not surprised either! Now i just think, if i want something doing, do it myself! ;)

At the moment I've kicked fizzy soft drinks out of the budget - and buy smartprice pure orange instead...

If we do have fizzy drinks I get them from HomeBargain for 40-50% off
