  • Hi slm, how are you getting on with the paperwork with the cccs? Have you heard anything back from them yet? I have another review due soon, i seem to have one every other month because I have no tenants at the moment :( !! However having just cleared out our emergency funds to do the rented house up i'm hoping it will be rented by xmas and i can get the cccs off my back for constant reviews lol

Hi all - i am a very happy bunny as car passed MOT this morning so i have a car back - cant afford petrol really but i have it back!

I am slowly getting things to the CCCS. As bits come in i send them to them so hoping it will all be sorted soon. Not sure OH is quite on board with everything yet but will keep working on it. He has got a contract until christmas with one of the agencies but still not great money, although greatful knowing we will have work all week. Still seem to be poor even though not paying debts - i think OH low wages have kind of stopped it from making much of a difference.

Anyway looking on positives today as car passed! Its also DS 4th birthday so celebrations all round - we bought him a scooter in the end (9.99 from argos) so that was a low spend. He seems pleased with it so happy about that. We were hoping to go to Eastern Farm Park as they have halloween week for his birthday treat, but will depend on petrol - already got ticket and planned on taking pack up.

Going well with the NSD's as not got money spare to spend - really need to go food shopping but that can wait i think, although need to pay for MOT as well so may pop in there on way home :)

Hi there yes we made our trip today and i somehow managed to get petrol money. We had a lovely day and apart from the petrol we spent nothing - we took our soup, bread rolls and fruit for lunch and avoided anything that required extra money. Ticket was bought months ago so nothing there either.

I am starting afresh on 1st Nov and sticking to the new budget. Most of my payments come out either on the 1st or the 15th of the month so will have 2 poor weeks and 2 where i will in theory be saving. May ring some of the bill people and try to move some the the clear weeks to even things out. Have written to OH's bank telling them to cancel his DD for loan as he wont get round to doing it. Need him to sign this and then hand money over to me! I even have my post office card ready to pay money into for car tax next time it comes round. Will do this last week of each month once all bills have been paid. I will be taking the food and petrol monthly and keeping it seperate and perhaps only taking so much out with me each week. Havent even thought how i will pay for xmas yet - its going to be a cheap one if i can.

Keeping a much better eye on the food budget, because although i am caareful i have been stocking up on items when they are on special deals and perhaps overspending there - i do save in the long run but perhaps i shouldnt stock up as much as i have - also finding it very difficult to put things away as so much cupboard bit. I do need to buy meat soon as this seems to be what we dont have much of in the freezer. Asda coke now tastes as good as real coke (well as far as i can remember - its fizzy and has caffine in it!)- i have therefore overcome a big spend of mine.

its strange because i have always done this sort of thing. It mainly the i want things now part of me and OH that got us started with the debt and it went from there. Childrens learning books and games etc are my downfall - think i have enough to educate or set up shop to be honest. Although most is from the CS its still money that i dont need to be spending. Anyway enough from me, i hope we all have a good NSD :)

  • yey well done you, you sound like you've got a plan now :) i also get my car tax on my post office card and i was so pleased in sept when i got my first car tax since i was about 22 not on credit (stupid thing is when i was younger i used to stick to a budget and save for everything like this....not sure where it all went wrong!)

I'm also the same with the cola now lol i was literally addicted to diet pepsi and hated the taste of shop cola at first but now it tastes the same to me :p chocolate as well i buy te$co own bars for about 40p instead of galaxy........unfortunately i can tell the difference still lol but i do persevere :)

As for xmas, do you have a clubcard, they are sending out the latest vouchers soon and there is a double up deal perhaps you can get some things in that if you have enough vouchers?

I've decided that in december's budget I am going to not pay into the school fee fund and use the extra £150 for food & alcohol for xmas :) we have to treat ourselves every now and then, right? ;) (and don't worry I already have enough in the fund so know we'll be ok to pay the bill come jan lol)
