I actually left feeling convinced I wasn't!! Unfortunately the surgery doesn't have many doctors but maybe I could ask to see another one?
I've looked on the NHS website and thats the only one thats listed but to be honest Im surprised as I live in quite a populated area!!
See a better doctor, preferably someone qualified. Of course you can fall pregnant whilst on the pill, it isn't failproof. Cant believe she spoke to you that way.
You will need a referral but as I understand it if your only local hospital is private the NHS will still pay for it to be done.
I was quite saddened that you dont feel able to turn to your friends. You are only needing some advice and support. Surely they would want to help you and be there for you. We are all here though if this is something you would rather not discuss with them

If an abortion is done on the NHS it's usually done by/in the local gynaecology ward so wouldn't be down in the phone book as an abortion clinic.
Contact your nearest family planning clinic as soon as possible (if you can't find it if you ring the GP surgery they tend to have the details of times of clinics etc)
The digital tests say 3weeks+ as the maximum, it is also possible you could be too far gone to have an abortion0 -

I've just found out im pregnant and Im not in a situation to even dream of keeping it
I have no idea how far gone I am as I was on the pill (yeh great, thanks for not working!) but the clearblue said +3 weeks so thats anything really!
I havent spoken to the dad in 4 weeks due to rather a nasty breakup but I know he doesn't want kids (I will obviously talk to him about it) so know he will agree that an abortion is the right answer for us. Me? Well Im not in any situation to bring up a child. Im currently out of work and have been for a few months (I relocated to be with boyfriend and have now come back to 'home') and am currently sofa surfing with very nice friends!
I have nothing against people who don't work and have kids but I really do not want to bring a child up in these situations. I don't unfortunately have family around me, so it's just my friends (who are great, but not like that. Lol).
I've looked online and it appears the only abortion clinic in my area is at a private hospital? Will they still do it on the NHS? Im a bit confused!!
Just needed to tell someone as my friends won't understand
Please don't turn this into a pro v anti abortion argument as I will just ignore it.
I know what I have to do, Im just not sure how to do it.
Thank you for listening.
Chances are that you will be scanned so they can determine how far gone you are so they can determine the best way to go as far as the abortion goes.
I would definitely go and try and see a different doc at your surgery though as the sooner you can receive counseling and treatment

Thank you everyone. I rang the GP and explained the situ and they had an appointment tomorrow morning with my old nice doctor (she put me on the pill when I was 15) so I'm very happy it's her!
My only pro throught about the 3+ week thing is I did a test about 3 weeks ago (not because of lack of period but general not feeling good) and it was negative. I'd like to think this meant I was too early to show up?0 -

That sound positive as this means you could still be very early no more than 5 weeks, but without wanting to worry you there are women out there who can pee on as many sticks as they like but haven't got a positive result until they have been much further on a lady ive spoken to has bee over the 12 week mark before she got her positive on the pee sticks, her pregnancy was confirmed via blood tests.
ETA this is also the reason they will scan you, so they know exactly how far gone you are.It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

This is very true, my partner had a feeling she was pregnant a few years back, must have had at least 8 of these tests over a 3 week period, none came up positive. A week later she had to be rushed into hospital and had a misscarriage.Per Mare Per Terram0 -
How long since you last had sex OP, and when was your last period?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I last had sex about a month ago, and before then was regular.
I've been on the pill since I was 15 but last month was my last one and I've been having periods fine. I finished my pack about 27th April, had a period and havent took a pill since (last sex was before this date) or had a period.
I know it's hard to tell when your on the pill as they produce 'fake periods' as such.
I know you don't want to scare me but I'm praying im not too far gone!!
Edit to add: I will not regret this as I know it's the right decision for me. I've been thinking about it good and hard and know I am doing what is right in my head and heart.0 -
Im really glad you are now booked in to see a doctor you trust and feel comfy with. I wish you well with this.0
