Isnt this effectively only fixed until April 2013 as their are no early termination fees after 31st March 2013.

    Or am i missing something.
Fixed Price 2014 prices are fixed until 31st March 2014. Cancellation penalties on this tariff vary depending on if and when you leave this tariff before the contract end date of 31/03/2014: £35 per fuel before 31 March 2012, £15 per fuel before 31 March 2013, No cancellation fees after 31 March 2013

    Just switched to EDF 2014

Their breakdown was Electric + 35% increase over the fixed period and Gas + 12.5%. We are in the NW.

' Can I have just the Gas please'--NO, but you can have the Electric on its own. Swings and roundabouts!

Our DD will be another £8 per month (we overpay slightly to stay ahead) so we've swopped.

I've just done exactly the same, increased my DD to £80 combined, up from £73. Also in the North West. At least we know what we will be paying for the next nearly 3 yrs. In reality you are only tied in until March 2013, after that you can leave or change without penalties.

Just spoken to Eon and they say there is nothing they can do, no supervisor I can speak to etc to get me from FixOnline 8 onto Price Protection 2014:cool:.
I guess I'll be off to EDF too...before they pull it!

I'm busy trying to work out if this is worth my while.

How do I find out which area I am in? I'm London/Surrey border, so not sure if London or Seeboard for prices.

    If London:
    FP2014
    Year 1 = £1095, Year 2 = £1095, Year 3 = £1095
    FP V2
    Year 1 = £918, Year 2 = ?, Year 3 = ?

    Total for 3 years on FP2014 = £3285

In order for FP V2 to cost the same over the 3 years, Year 2 and 3 would need to see a price rise of 18% each year.

    How likely would that be?

    If Seeboard:
    FP2014
    Year 1 = £1095, Year 2 = £1095, Year 3 = £1095
    FP V2
    Year 1 = £878, Year 2 = ?, Year 3 = ?

    Total for 3 years on FP2014 = £3285

In order for FP V2 to cost the same over the 3 years, Year 2 and 3 would need to see a price rise of 23% each year.

I tried looking for historical prices rises for EDF over the past few years, but my Google-Fu is weak :(

If someone is already with EDF and try to switch tarrifs via "USWITCH" for example with the "fixed 2014", do the freebies still apply?

Also, does anyone know if there are any capped rates that do not incur standing charges?

Thats the most depessing thing about this whole EON mess.Depends who you speak to at Cust. Services. I phoned yesterday and was assured that there were no hidden tariffs other than the ones shown on my online account, even when I said I'D PROBABLY BE LEAVING.......Yet today people are STILL being offered obsolete, withdrawn tariffs!!!!
