Put some hair remover on her eyebrows too then she can look like a proper egg head.

Dont forget to use some pliers and pierce her nose, then put a ring through it.

Think the pliers might wake her unless you managed to slip her some diazepam :rotfl::rotfl:

Don't do that, in case you shake the bottle too hard, lol.

Well if we're now starting with diazepam, I can think of much better things to do to her!

    Anyway, back on topic!

I'd be having words with your OH, tell him to grow some balls and tell your MIL where she went wrong and why. Least you should get is an apology from her!

  • Awww I feel so sorry for your little girl. I remember watching a baby about the same age as yours get her ears pierced. She was a gorgeous happy little baby and when the needle went in she screamed the place down. Her mother could not pacify her. I felt so sorry it seemed so barbaric.

As for your mother-in -law I would be absolutely fuming. What on earth was she thinking??????

ps(Hope your baby is ok...bless her) xxx

It would be the very last time she ever looked after any of my children.

OP I hope your little girl has a settled night. Probably far better than you will I should think. If you need some more moral support tomorrow please come back on :)

I took the earrings out immediately, apart from the fact i dont like the look of earrings on babies, i also dont want to risk infection.

Shes had a pattern shaved on my sons hair before that i didnt appreciate but wasnt as big of a deal because it wasnt painful or permanent.

OH hates causing a fuss about anything but particulary because his mother is very good to us in regards to money ( gave us a lump sum towards our house deposit a few years ago) which of course i appreciate but i cant just let this one go.

Shes not talking to us now because i swore at her earlier on but i dont feel she has the right to huff and i certainly dont feel i should be the one to make up!

I'm glad she's good to you, why shouldn't she help out her beloved son and family? It's her cash, her choice, hurrah.

that does not mean she has carte blanche to do as she pleases with your offspring. Supposing she decided to convert to another religion, would she think it ok to have your son circumcised? Extreme example, but the same sense of mutilation of a beautiful child ~ as if babies aren't gorgeous enough?

Your OH really needs to tell her, peaceably and tactfully that hairdos, outfits etc are one thing, but permanent changes are absolutely out of bounds, unless clarified by both of you first.

As for the sulking, she'll get over it, and maybe once you've clamed down, for the sake of peace, if she's not already done so, you could apologise for swearing, but not for being upset about the piercings, and hopefully she will then realise how serious this actually is, and never ever repeat it!

Good idea to let the ears heal. DD was 9 when she had her ears pierced, she nagged for ages and ages. She developed an infection in one ear, it was painful, swollen, oozing gloop..... I took them out and she let them heal, although she has since had them done again. But as you say, old enough to ask, and if they nag, I reckon they know they want it, and they're plenty old enough by 9yrs to understand that it will hurt.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

15 posts and the newbie badge is still there..so you are wrong...again? How much else are you wrong about on MSE?

    It's gone.

Reported you for being completely useless, and probably failing to be a troll.
