    Morning (just)

hugs to Mrs MH and Qasar.

Just been to DSs nativity play. They were all brilliant. 'Specially considering most of them are not even 5 yet. DS only picked his nose right at the end!

DH away for a couple of days. Slept like a log last night. DH is such a fidget, I like to get in my bed and stay there - in the morning I can almost slide out and it's already made.

    No cooking to do today.

Need to sort out childcare vouchers - does anyone know if you can cancel partway through the year? Or change to another nursery? I'm gonna have to brave my "filing system" and find all the info on them.

    take care everyone.

  • Right - I'm going to see what I actually achieve today:

Hoover throughout (again) - part done
    [STRIKE]Vax dining room and DS1's carpets [/STRIKE]
Put fresh bedding on spare bed and generally nake it welcoming/warm
Make a sausage casserole for tea
    [STRIKE]
Take more photos of the stuff I'm selling on ebay and email them off to the "watchers"
    [/STRIKE]Clean kitchen
Make soup using some limp looking celery and leeks.
Anything else that I see that needs doing.

Also, cleaned out gerbils, put DW on, tidied living room (for a change :D) and sorted mail. First load is in WM, dry stuff taken off rads and brought up stairs and d/s loo cleaned.

Coffee drunk - best get on :D

Sorry, no time to read all the posts this morning, but hope that you are all well. Today I've made spag bol for tea tonight, made a couple of jars of lemon curd from a HF-W recipe. First time at making anything like that, so hopefully it'll be ok, it does smell delish. Just time for a quick butty for lunch, then off to school for DS nativity play. Kitchen looks like a bombs dropped, but it'll have to wait until tonight to be done. Will be working every day now right up to Xmas Eve so a few really busy days ahead. We're trying to keep the house tidy, so we don't need to blitz it on Christmas Eve, but we're failing dismally!! Never mind, worse things going on in the world than a few inches of dust......

    Morning all :)

Well, the builders have just finished plastering the wall, so now DH can re-construct the staircase (hopefully).

I've almost finished stripping the office, so it's all coming on ... house still looks like a bombsite and I'm sick of all the dust, but until DH has stopped bashing there really is no point tackling it.

I have told him that Sunday is the last day, so that I have the whole week to sort this yukky mess out.

Christmas cards are all written (hurrah!), but 'photo's still have not arrived (boo!), so can't send them yet.

Wheat bags are made, well the inner bits anyway, so now I need to make the covers to go with them ...

Turkey should be arriving tomorrow, going to go and buy sausagemeat this afternoon for the stuffing (anyone know if I can make the stuffing then freeze it?!)

MrsMH - sorry to hear life is getting you so down, my DH got made redundant on Christmas Eve once, at the time it was awful, but in retrospect has the been the best thing to have ever happened.

VickyA - re, your landlord and broken window - yeh - tell him that you will get the window fixed and deduct the payment from the rent to save him the bother ..........

gingin - I know the feeling about your-almost-3yr old, ours keep on a-visiting .... and fidgets for Britain, nor will she go near DH, insists on cuddling mummy (which at times feels more like a stranglehold!), how come they go from "sweetness and light" to "demon" children in the night ;) Tonight, is the night we tackle it (so, says us every night .. LOL).

Right, I have 1hr14mins before DD needs collecting from nursery so I'd best get on with the stripping.

    Have fun y'all.

B - HM flapjack and coffee
    L - Cheese / ham sarnie
    D - Meatballs I think.

The last one did me for 3 years of pretty heavy printing so I suppose it all balances out
    Nels xx

 At the first read through I read this as HEAVY PETTING not heavy printing:eek: No wonder they keep ya on the road so much I thought to myself:rotfl: PMSL I really do need to get new reading glasses!

Mrs Mortenharket - Hugs! Mrs MATH was made redundant last year, we didn't expect it and I know how upsetting it can be, especially at this time of year. If a quick moan on here keeps you sane then full steam ahead and post! post! post! I know the support OS'rs gave me was great and coupled with lots of long walks on the beach and plenty of shouting at the sea got me through. LOL Although we are not in the financial position we were before the redundancy we are starting to get back to normal.

Anyway! Grey and breezy here in the emids. Miss MATH is still off school (just to make sure she's back to full strength). She was determined to go back today but I put my foot down and forced her to lie on the sofa and eat some medicinal chocolate. What's wrong with kidz of today? I never needed telling twice to stay off school!

Most things today are done and the SC is bubbling away with minced beef casserole in it. Just the peas and dumplings to add this afto so I may cuddle down with Miss MATH for a mammoth reading session befor collecting the boys from school.

BLUUURGH! One of my cats has just been sick at the foot of the stairs *MATH pads off with damp cloth in hand* Remind me again why I keep these furry varmits!! Have a good day Y'all

Awww thanks to all who "hugged" me on account of poor little Charlie. However after reading Mrs Mortenharket's post, I feel that she needs much bigger (((((((((hugs)))))))) - So sorry to hear of your situation, Mrs MH! I hope the light at the end of the tunnel comes very soon for you!

And as usual I'm late going out because I can't resist logging in to MSE when I check my emails....

    See you all later

    Hello Everyone

Feeling depressed today. Found out I've got to sit with the boss and the miserable people at the Christmas do. Great.

Got to work late again tonight. Will probably finish around 10pm so a nice 12 hour day. I'm putting in for overtime, I don't care what they say

Well I'm still in an "I can't be bothered" mood at work and will probably stay that way until the new year at the earliest

    Hope everyone's ok

:grouphug: to Quasar, MrsMortenHarket and Snowy :grouphug:

also chicken soup to everyone who is poorly like me.. unless of course you have a stomachbug, then you would have to do without.

got a stinking rotten cold and this has kinda put the kibosh on doing anything MSE. I've been trying to do things like making lists ready for christmas, the list of what to take to the Netherlands with us, etc., things that don't really require me to move much so i can sit here, sniffle and feel sorry for myself. However, i've got to go out later: its the last posting day not only for parcels but also for mail to the netherlands, so i've got to post both OH's family christmas cards and a couple of parcels. So i shall have to drag myself up the road, which i am not looking forward to. I bet i even know who i got the cold off - this staff worker in Wilkos who was coughing *without putting a hand over her mouth* which i think is pretty disgraceful, not to mention terribly unhygenic.

on the plus side, i got my hair cut yesterday. Had about 8 inches off, but it was all straggly, split ends and stuff, and got told by the hairdresser that in order to cure the thinness, i have to stop tying my hair back. So i slept with it loose last night.. and it was better than i thought it would be. so now i just have to get it dyed before christmas, undecided about colour though. either purple or red i think.

hope everyone has a good day!

    xx
