So how many people have you sued in court for £10,000?
He doesn't have to sue them, it's payable on demand. :rotfl:
Did you hear about the bloke who was putting a line of custard powder across the street? A puzzled bystander went up to him:
Puzzled Bystander: "Why are you putting a line of custard powder across the street?"
Custard Man: "It keeps the elephants away."
PB: "But there aren't any elephants around here!"
CM: "You see? It works!"
Funnily enough I've never had a parking ticket (council or private) and all I've got in my windscreen is a tax disc. That's often out-of-date too, not because I'm dishonest/stupid/a Freeman, but just because I'm lazy and disorganised. And do you know, I've never been done for that either!
Remarkable really. I must be blessed in some way!Je suis Charlie.0 -

Priceless, esmerobbo, freakin' priceless! I love the dork who actually thinks it matters that they can prove the PCSO saw the comedy notice in the windscreen!
Shame the halfwit didn't come back to tell them how the Plod reacted to his £10,000 invoice! I think he might've mentioned if they'd paid!
ROTFLMAO!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Oh dear, looks like MSE will not let you link to that dumb website. Can't say I'm surprised!
Never mind, here it is on another site:
So you just put that in your windscreen and, as if by magic, you never get any parking tickets!
Yep, that'll work!
PMSL!
The new legal notice will work in the majority of cases. If you do get a ticket or a clamp then you have the right to remove it, by force if necessary. If it's a PCN you have 3 days to reject that offer of contract. You also have the right to charge them £5000 for acting against your notice. If they fight it you send them your fee schedule for £1000 per hour or part thereof, plus £1000 per letter, and other fees you feel are appropriate. If you've done a free trademark/copyright on your name you can charge them £1,000,000 for each unauthorised use. Very few if any councils or private parking companies will try standing up to that - the risks to them are too great. Not just the £1,000,000 - a highly publicised court case would open the flood gates. There are huge numbers of people successfully refusing to pay council tax, car tax, TV license, etc. It's not a magic bullet - you have to do it carefully just as you have to drive a car or fly a plane carefully (I do both) - but do it properly and the authorities back down. They don't want to let the cat out of the bag - they have used statute law to impose these things on us. Most people blindly accept. But statute law only has standing on dry land if both parties agree to it. Otherwise, common law has precedence.
I know it sounds odd, but it is true - if you are prepared to research it thoroughly and apply it carefully. It is very easy to be tripped up into accepting statute law, so I cannot recommend these methods for most people. But I can recommend everyone research to see if it is worth the effort for them to become skilled in these methods.
FACT: I ENJOY FREE PARKING WITHOUT FEAR OF PCN'S OR CLAMPING. :j I do not expect anyone to believe that - I didn't when I first came across this free legal notice. But I did research it and I find it works. :j

NONE! They don't give me tickets or clamp my car! The notice has worked for me.
But if they did I would definitely pursue it totally, and not be put off by the inevitable quotes from statute law and other smokescreens they would use. You don't have to simply roll over and submit to what they say is true - fight it on your terms.

Oh wow, lawful, I take it all back, I'm actually grateful to you for bringing those forums to our attention. It's comedy gold!
There's another thread headed "Haringey Not Accepting Parking Notice?!" in which the OP whines:
"I spoke to a Wood Green (North London - Haringey) Traffic Warden today and showed him the Legal Notice placed in my car window and he advised that it doesnt mean anything to him and that it wouldnt stop him from giving me a ticket."
No s**t Sherlock! :rotfl:
Another poster chips in:
"I have a problem with this too my car got towed today even though I had a Parking Notice displayed clearly on it." :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
He's got the solution though:
"I want this Parking Notice to work for everyone so maybe an amended version is needed in light of my experience today."
Yep, that'll do it, fix the wording and it'll work like a charm! PMSL!
No worries though, they get some good advice from another poster:
"Always a good idea to have a camera. A phone camera will do. Video him as he makes his claim. If he asks, Make sure he knows you are collecting evidence."
Unfortunately Natalie omits to mention what to do with this evidence once you've collected it! LOL!
And the final gem in this wonderful thread:
"Have you billed them for unauthorized forced hire of your private conveyance? They have after all engaged in commerce with you without prior inquiring as to your trading terms/conditions/hire rates and more importantly, unauthorized hire fee schedule....oh now that does sound painfully expensive"
Oh it does, it really does sound sooooo expensive! I know, send 'em a bill, and they'll pay it! Yup, that'll work, job's a good 'un! :T
Jeez, I knew Freemen were funny but this is better than Live at the Apollo!Je suis Charlie.0 -

So first you come on here saying "Get this sticker on your windscreen and you'll never get another parking ticket" and now you're saying you can't recommend it for most people0 -

Many thanks for the link esmerobbo
So, the legal notice in the windscreen is not a magic shield! I am shocked - not! Inevitably some CSO's etc. will ignore it. But as the further posts on that thread say, you have to back up the notice with effective action. Done properly you'll win.

I know I'll regret asking this, but do you have some case references where anyone successfully sued a local council, plod, clamper, etc. for £10,000?Je Suis Cecil.0
