Sorry, didnt realise that the links didnt work - the EJH Hotel one is quoted a s double/twin but the Otel.com is quoted as a Double room booking.....

Will they pick up on this one then? Even if its the same room?

    Thanks for replying!

afraid they will throw that out, must say double/twin standard to be sure!

Re my ongoing saga with my lastminute.com price match.
I got through to someone today (Beryl???), and she was very helpful, confirmed that my emails from last monday had been received, but nothing done!

She promised to pass them onto head office, and she also mentioned the fact that she knows they have honoured lastminute.com as a comparison on bookings, so fingers x'd.

On another note, I have another hotel I'm looking at and wanted to ask the seasons hotel go'ers:

EJH state Double Standard room, Superbreak state Double room

All other criteria are the same, would EJH be likely to dismiss the claim on the wording of the rooms? Or should it be ok to go for it?
  • I have found when searching for hotel rooms in London that a lot of the time, various Thistle Hotels are something like £225 per night inc breakfast on EasyJet Hotels and around £110 per night with suppliers such as https://www.diytravel.co.uk. I realise that Thistle properties tend to be a bit worn and dated but if its a freebie in Central London, I could slum it!

If using https://www.hotelscomparison.com, do as budgetflyer has suggested previously and search for 4* hotels and upwards.

    Hi Bazcab,

My claim was accepted by EJH (MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh - very nice BTW) and it showed 'standard double' on EJH and 'Double Room' on both Superbreak and Hotelconnect.com (still not sure which was accepted, I'm guessing both as they asked for screenshots when I had only claimed against Superbreak).

That hotel only has rooms that are: 'classic - double or twin', 'feature - double or twin' or 'executive - double or twin' so they aren't actually worded as just 'standard' or 'double' on the MacDonald hotels site anyway.

    Good luck,
    Caz x

(ps I'm already getting itchy feet again!!)

I have booked a hotel in Inverness for 5 days over Easter last week, not a freebe, but only £121. Still waiting for a reply, have not received a mail that it had been passed to HQ, but hoping I'll get it soon :(

Hotel Details: Thistle Inverness 3 STARS
    Arrival Date: 04.04.2007
    Departure Date: 09.04.2007
    Adults per room: 2
    Price : 665 GBP
