just a quick update - got my refund from hotelopia today - only stayed in the hotel last weekend so pretty quick refund and all went smoothly
now on the lookout for the next bargain :TWiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
Good for u wishiwasarichgirl! We have been to the barcelona last weekend, but despiting checking the credit card online everday, hotelopia has paid in the difference yet......well I do remember they mentioned they will refund it with 28 days after you complete the stay, so can't chase them yet just have to wait!
About the findmeaccom.com claim, I'm a bit worried seeing easyjet refusing one claim as I just helped my friend put in one and its for about 600quid! But I can't really see how they can refuse the claim on the 2% credit card basis as last time when I claimed, I just simply added the charge on to the price findmeaccom website quoted, and calculate the difference between this and the easyjet quote, they accepted the claim without making much fuss. I recond it's more like now they are receiving so many claims, so are tightening the rules and being very strict.0 -
Budgetflyer, just went to check out your new article and noticed you have put reserveahotelonline on the site as well, if I remember correct, cumbrian male hasn't received confirmation from easyjet to accept his claim yet has he? Or you have used this site before and was accepted?0

I have had an email saying they will honour my claim but they haven't said if it is find rooms or reserve a hotel online. I have queried it and they have said will look into it. Difference is only £4 but I want confirmation that the site is good for comparison not bothered about £8.
So still waiting and will update hopefully before we go next weekend.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your e-mail. As far as I can see from the history of our correspondence you offered us two alternative web sites. Initially I was working on your first e-mail. It was for https://www.reserveahotelonline.com 309 GBP and I asked for screenshots, which you kindly provided. Few minutes after that I started to work on you second e-mail for https://www.find-rooms.com with the price of 313 GBP. I was able to gather all the information from https://www.find-rooms.com and I immediately sent an e-mail to our head department. In my opinion they validated your claim at 313 GBP(competitive price), but I will have to ask them one final time so I can be sure. This is getting a little bit messy because of the 2 alternatives, for which I apologize. What is important is that one of your two claims is approved and the difference is not so big- 4 GBP. I am about to find out how much exactly you are going to be reimbursed so we can provide you some final information. I want to thank you for all your patience. We will let you know for sure soon.
Best Regards

This is such a great idea
Thanks for those deals budgetflyer - will definitely consider those! Does anyone else have any suggestions for nice cities for romantic getaways? (which I may be able to find a cheap room by this method for!)

I'm just wondering if it would be helpful to have a separate thread detailing all the deals people have found eg
hotel name/location - price found cheaper etc
and this would help people looking to book instead of scrolling through the discussions what does everyone think?0 -
I think I've found a deal I like but am nervous as I may not have done it properly. I don't want to post it as it appears that Easyjet may be monitoring these boards! Would somebody be so kind as to PM me and check it for me? I'd be very grateful
Many thanks0 -

I think that would be a good idea, although someone mentioned that easyjet may be looking here and changing things as they're posted.0 -
New thread would be good
EJH watching unlikely, more likely they want to be competative with the other sites so they don't have so many claims.
Coconut man I will look at your deal if you like.I have a cunning plan!

jamesfinch wrote:I think I've found something with Thistle hotels in London.
Offer I've found is listed for 13/4 to 15/4:
£190 at Thistle Euston in London in Deluxe Double w/bfast
https://www.thistlehotels.com/thistle/hotels/booking/book.do
£450 at easyJet hotels in Deluxe Double w/bfast
Meaning a free stay.
The rate at which it's available on Thistle's site is the "leisure rate". Can anyone tell me if this is ok to be matched against easyJet?
Thanks
No because they don't price match hotel chain own websites, my bold.
3. ii) Refunds will only be made after completion of stay by the claimant at the named hotel for the named booking.
iii) Claims for any refund must be made within 24 hours of booking on easyJetHotels.
iv) easyJetHotels must be able to verify the alternative rate is both available and bookable online.
v) Claims for refunds must be based on a comparison of the same hotel for the same dates and same room type and occupancy, and be inclusive of the same services as those offered by easyJetHotels (for example service charges, taxes and breakfast etc.).
vi) On-request rooms are excluded from this price promise and rooms must be available for immediate retail consumer bookings online.
vii) easyJetHotels will not reimburse clients if the compared product is part of a package, is shown in a currency different to that quoted by easyJetHotels, if the competitor rate is not offered by a UK bonded travel agency and/or if the rate is offered on a branded hotel chain website.
viii) This double the difference refund Best Price Guarantee will cover bookings made for up to 4 customers and a maximum of 7 nights´ stay.
ix) The maximum amount refunded shall not exceed the total value of the booking made.
x) Only one claim can be made per person per month.
xi) easyJetHotels will administer this scheme.
xii) Reimbursement of double the difference will be made in the same currency and payment method as the booking made on easyJetHotels.I have a cunning plan!
