GOOD LUCK, SA. I'm so pleased you're excited - I am, too, on your behalf. I am sure there is no need to bribe your new colleagues (but I hope the biscuits are chocolate, just to be sure). Have a great week.

  • Not too much time to post but I AM going to log on tonight and update you. I want to give it a second day as well before I post my thoughts.
Following on from my writing about how people are having to downsize in jobs, I am noticing a theme running through the jobs that I have been doing since a) moving to the north and b) working in a position that I can do standing on my head, blindfolded. I actually think that the people I am working with feel threatened or wary (?)
As I said, I am going to give it another day and post tonight, honestly and thoughtfully. Just musings - don't get me wrong - I am not desperately unhappy or not enjoying it but it is strange to see and receive peoples reactions to the "newbie" in the office.
    Let you know more tonight.....
    Hugs

The first few days are always dodgy - wanting to get the right balance of showing what you can do without making the others feel threatened, wanting to ask to make sure you're doing what they want without seeming to not know how to do something. It'll calm down. Newbies are always treated with suspicion until they've shown what they're made of. Good luck.

  • Petal you stay calm and be yourself. I hate this part of a new job you have to wait for the approval of others who may have their own agendas. Do your job, be cheery and dont let any creeps get you down. I work in a wierd environment my students keep me going I gave up with my immediate colleagues long ago although every other dept loves me! Have faith in yourself and dont let them get you down. Think of the shorter commuting distance and the discount. Fingers crossed you will meet someone just as nice as you soon. Remember we all think you are great ok.

Big hug from all of us. SA stay strong and stay positive. If they have any intelligence they will accept you very soon. images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSg550VO6_Z07nc9at_QX5szAeqDzmvACn-p9Um_COAmHB786UkoeQhwyED
