Post no1 of the new diary of SA - the middle aged person who just refuses to grow up......
This is going to be a diary of positivity, I hope, unless it is one of THOSE days - and then it will be whinge, moan and vent my spleen.
To all my friends - hello  I had to close the old diary but it seems right to start another and start over....
For anyone that wasn't a part of my old diary, let me introduce the cast of characters..... I live alone with a small terrier that I call MrT (not his real name, but he doesn't want to be identified). MrT and I both have a number of issues and it seems only right that we have ended up together in our middle age. MrT has had nearly as many homes as I have - and that is saying something!
I live in a flat in the North of England. My neighbours are the bain of my life since they moved in 18 months ago and life is a constant struggle between keeping the peace and stopping myself from waging war on them.
I work in a chocolate warehouse (tough, but someone has to do it) and am very involved with the Tenant Groups of the Housing Association that I rent my flat from.
I am an anti social so and so and my idea of bliss is to curl up on the settee with MrT, a glass of red and watch a good TV drama. I have had some very dramatic, exciting times in my life of which I leak little bits now and then but have settled down enough to know that at my age I should know better...
I am an ex bankrupt and was horribly in debt for some time and found MSE at my lowest point a few years ago. Some great members nursed me through pre and post BR and here I am a couple of years on, debt free but skint and starting over - in my mid fifties!!!!
I am honest and post truthfully and from the heart. I don't tell lies and I don't appreciate time wasters or drama queens - I am what I am.
I love horses and used to ride to a high standard - now I just treat myself a couple of times a month to a long ride on the Yorkshire Moors - certainly blows any cobwebs away.
I walk MrT for about 2 hours a day, more if he and I can manage it, and go all over with him. We have to walk as he is a monster in the car! Actually, he is a monster quite a lot of the time.
My aim is to stay healthy, which I am sort of managing with a bit of assistance from my lovely GP, debt free, which I am sort of managing with the help of MSE, content - which is still a work in progress
and to be more settled.... after a life time of dropping everything and chasing rainbows, I have decided that a bit of stability is long overdue.
My two great buddies are savingwannabe and Wordsmith who are just so funny in their own different ways - dojoman is the lurker and there are lots of other lovely peeps who drop in and laugh and cry along the way with me.
So fasten your seatbelts, I am sure it is going to be a bit of a bumpy ride at times, but we will have a laugh or two, I am sure.
Hugs

Yet again,
I wrote a big long post and my computer froze and I lost it! I think my poor old machine needs putting out to grass - it is a bit feeble these days, I am afraid.
I have got a day off - only a 2 day week this week! My manager is off but I wasn't asked to do extra and I am certainly not volunteering any more. If it was full time on a permanent basis, that would be great, but bits and bobs of extra hours just cause headaches with the HB. Sad, but true - it is a disincentive. Mr Cameron, are your reading this?
Speaking of work, I find it really uncomfortable when colleagues call each other names and talk behind peoples backs which is something that tends to happen in my workplace. I tend to stay quiet and keep my head down and then I get accused of non communication - help? I was bought up with a strong work ethic and to have respect for others and it doesn't seem to figure too much these days - especially with the younger generation. I went back to work this week to find my office co-worker had rung in sick with no explanation, leaving me on my own for the day. I wasn't too pleased especially when he walked into work yesterday with an overnight bag! Hmmm....
Anyway, a day off today - cleaning the flat and tidying the garden and then a tootle off to Focus to see just how much of a "clearance" they are having. If it is cheap enough I will get some paint for the kitchen. I can't believe it is 2 years since I moved in. Time flies.
Tomorrow I am off to the HA to take part in quite a highbrow project - I am feeling very important, I can tell youThey have such a nice working environment there, everyone seems to get on and it has a real "team" feel to it. I might see if I can get a few tips. We certainly need it.
MrT has been nagging at me to take him out for walk no2 and I have persuaded him to wait a while and go and sunbathe. So... he is now out in the garden shouting at every poor person, animal and car that passes by. He is turning into a grumpy old man, in canine form.
Time is getting on and I have a few errands to do - walk the mutt, feed the ducklings, buy flowers in the market and a couple of pigs ears if MrT and I are still on good terms by then.
Speak soon,

Have a good day, SA. Any news on more hours for work? Do the HA have paid posts? Sounds like it would be nice to work for them.
Meant to say yesterday, I like the title of your new diary. So true."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0
