I am sorry everyone .... my shiny new diary and I just couldn't summon up any energy, time or inclination to post yesterday. It was such a full on day and let me tell you why....
I was invited to help with interviewing applicants for a big new project at my HA (there was only 2 of us) and I felt very priviledged to be asked. But in order to get everything done I had to get up at 5.00amto do my little second job, walk MrT, get ready and drive the 50 miles there. I am tired just thinking about it. But it was a good day and we picked the right person, I know and there was a very good second applicant should the first one not take up the offer. A very constructive day. I also got to chat to one of the "high up" managers about the Fatty family and the ongoing trials and tribulations.
Having told Mediator lady that she washes and dries through the day, she decided to do over 2 hours of tumble drying LAST NIGHT, ON THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR! starting at 9.20pm. Very neighbourly, huh? Anyway, back to Manager man - and just like others - he immediately wondered how they could afford to run a tumble dryer on a daily basis for hours on end? I think a meter inspection may be on the cards, somehow.
I also get the impression that things may be moving on now without my help, so I am going to take a back seat and just watch how things develop.
After dashing round like a headless chicken on Thursday getting all manner of things done I suddenly got an awful muscle spasm in my back in the evening and hardly slept a wink... Urgh! I have always had problems with my back one way or another and actually had surgery on my spine a few years back and it does tend to cramp up sometimes. I took a couple of max strength ibuprofen and it is gradually softening up, thank heavens. Added to anti histamines for hayfever, other pills that I have to take following my big op 18 mionths ago, I am a regular rattler! I used to pride myself on how healthy I was (and still am, I suppose) but it does take a fair amount of help to keep 4 wheels on my wagon, these days!
The day started beautifully today bit it has actually clouded over now and looks like it is even stevens as to whether it would burn off or pour down. Strange.
No horse riding this weekend, I am trying to go every two weeks as then it is not too expensive. I do enjoy it though.
Budgetting is back on for the next few months - Car tax this month and service and MOT next month and then the TV licence. I have to be very careful to know exactly what is coming in and going out otherwise the ends just don't meetEspecially when I employ my "reverse saving" system. I can't, and have never been able to, save and so if I think I can afford it I buy something and then really live frugally for the next month or so to pay for it. It is so tempting to put extra items in a supermarket basket or buy a magazine or some other treat, I would rather not have the money to buy it in the first place. Works for me, most of the time....
Anyone doing anything nice this weekend? I just want to chill and let the world pass by.
Speak soon

Morning, SA. Sounds like you had a productive, though tiring, day yesterday. Hope you get a good rest today. Will duck-feeding be involved? I am a shop girl all weekend (bank holiday weekend here), so not "nice" particularly, but I don't mind. Hope you have a good one."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Hi Wordsmith....
Just posted on yours, and here you are on mine!
Yep, just waiting for a loaf to defrost so that we can go and feed the ducklings. They see Mr T strolling down the road towards the river and come waddling up to meet us, it is so endearing and Yes, I know that bread is not particularly good for ducks, but it is that or nowt.
MrT has developed a very annoying little habit - he is refusing to "do a poo" when he goes out for his first walk early in the morning and absolutely wont go in the garden. So.... my lovely bit of time after breakfast on a day off spent sitting down reading the paper, drinking tea and perusing the diaries is interrupted by a small terrier nagging away "but I have to go NOW!" God love him... what sort of a monster have I created?
Wordsmith (and everyone else) an old friend of mine, a Brit, is coming to the UK for a fortnights holiday at the end of the month - she lives in the village that my ex lives in. My mind is playing tricks on me and I am in danger of buying him a present and sending it back with her. STOP ME SOMONE! I have already asked after him in emails and I DON'T WANT TO! Please let me grow strong and grow up over this.
Why does life have to be so tricky some times?
Big Sigh

Noooooooooo. DON'T DO IT. I am going to come on here and say this every day until you promise. And don't pump your friend for information. Gosh, I think I might send you a ticket for a flight to Ireland and keep you captive until your friend has gone back, presentless. Or I will capture and hold MrT to ransom (being the promise). Or ... or ... or ... other stuff that will stop you. DON'T DO IT."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
I hate to say this SA but if she was a true friend she would know how mean he has been to you. And wouldn't talk about him.
Focus on happy things you can do with her. Sightseeing and nice treats so you can both have fun.
I am meeting a friend in town but have a lot of food shopping to do too. Dont know how i will manage to do both but I shall have a darn good try.
It is the last of the good weather here. The sun has shined almost every day and has cheered me up so much.
Have a good'un everyone.:D:D:D

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!
Is that enough of a reminder!

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks to my lovely friends - and yep, Chev, that is a great "reminder"
I am actually having quite a few sane periods where I wonder what on earth I am thinking about, but it is those odd weak moments - you know? I was even thinking about saving my hard earned and going over for a week later on this year - What planet am I on?
I think I need to keep disposing of my spare cash each month on the flat and garden and not make it possible to even consider buying a flight. A bit like an alcoholic pouring drink down the sink - get rid, get rid!
Well, bread defrosted, ducks fed including 6 new tiny, yellow, fluffy ones - I hope they don't get bullied.
MrT has attended to his toilet duties and is now having a nap, a bit of peace for me. Wordsmith, don't worry about kidnapping him - I will send him to to you..... haha
I have just got my payslip and my overtime has been missed off. Grrr.... I only earn peanuts and now I am about £50 short. I do get angry at sloppiness where peoples wages are concerned. Now I will have to wait a month for it to be paid - I suppose it will save rocking the HB boat...
I will now attempt to read another couple of pages of my newspaper, while "you know who" is having his snooze....
Hugs

Hello startagain -
officially de-lurking here to add my sentiments to the matter of 'the ex' ...
NEVER go back, EVER - you will unravel all the different elements of yourself that you have knitted together that make a whole new you.
By turning back you are killing off all new opportunities.
Sorry for lecturing, but as the Queen of second, third, fourth etc chances I can say without a doubt that you will always have that niggle of doubt as to how life could have turned out if you had just carried on marching into the future.
Would have saved myself a lot of time, money & aggro if I had learnt this in my twenties :wall:
Enjoy your day

Thank you Lula-Hula - that has summed it all up really. Super post and you are so right - it would be a real unravel. It would also screw his life up as well. When I leave him alone, he goes back to his "old life" and manages just fine.
Why is it that we can all be wise old sages dishing out the advice to everyone else but still manage to c*ck everything up back at home?
Hey Ho
