Hi sw, Rosa and beanie.....

Fatty family update - or should I say altercation number umpteen....
so the noise stops at 9pm and I sit there thinking "Thank heavens, a bit of peace and quiet" and it starts again at 9.15pm!!!!! So at 9.50pm, with mild mannered head on, I go downstairs and knock on the door, ring on the bell, knock on the door (get the picture) for over 5 minutes. Well... when she opened the door the noise was unbelievable. If the dryer noise is bad in my flat it was 5 times worse in hers and this is at 10pm at night on a weekday. There was also a friend staying (of course, the more the merrier). I ask her if it is possible to run the dryer off for the night to which she replies that she has only just turned it on!!!!!! I said that wasn't true as it had been on since I got home from work - over 4 hours. She was just denying it and so I asked if it was the washing machine (it had been both) and she said it MIGHT have been that.
I asked her why she had told Mediator lady that she doesn't use the washer/dryer at night when she does, every night and I was told "because I don't".... How do I deal with somone in self denial? But, she did turn it off and we will have to see what happens now.
I have to wait for noise recording equipment to be available but I think I am going to have to push for it now. The difference is astounding when she does turn these wretched machines off. I suffer from tinutis anyway and it doesn't help to have this continual rumbling in the background.
I agree beanie with the arrears thing - I think this may well be relevant here. I don't know people in work who could afford to run a dryer for hours on a daily basis, let alone on benefits... unless they aren't paying for it??????
MrT hates it when I go next door, I think he suspects that there is going to be a fall out. It must be the nervous vibes I am giving out, I do so hate confrontation, don't you?
My company are advertising 2 full time vacancies, but I haven't passed my probation yet and so I can't apply
Mind you, the closing date is not until June 30th so I should know by then. I do wonder if my current manager is delaying it as she doesn't want me to transfer. We move offices in a few weeks and it should make for a better working environment, we are very, very cramped at the moment and sharing a small office with another department.
On to happier things - payday today (minus overtime) in and out in the same day, thanks to rent and direct debits. It was good while it lasted!
No ex thoughts for a couple of days and I haven't contacted my friend who is due to come over.. thanks everyone for wielding the big stick. Frightened some sense into me.
I haven't got too much to write and I am not going to ramble so I will bid you farewell until tonight. Have a marvellous day everyone. May the sun shine on you.....

Horribly fatty family.

next time she is bothersome, just use your own tape recorder and time any noise incidents that occur. She will bluff and get away with it as she has done so far by saying she wasn't using it if she doesn't have evidence that you can accuse her with. See if you can catch her out now as by the time the HA give you equipment she will change her behaviour.

Fingers crossed you will pass your appraisal.

I have the day off today but have some prep to do for work and meetings tomorrow. I was ill in the night am going to reduce my insulin down for sure.

That was brave of you, going round to the neighbours'. You are, of course, keeping a diary of all this? I assume your electricity bills are OK and they aren't somehow tapping into your meter? I am so grateful that I have good neighbours. Home should be your sanctuary and it must be horrible to feel "invaded" like this.

Is it a company rule that you can't apply for full-time posts while still under probation? What would happen if you applied anyway? Are they jobs you actually want?

Rain lashed down last night and it is still very wet. This means that people can't get on to the bog to cut their turf for next winter's fuel. That is their reason for being grumpy today. Although if the weather was perfect for the bog, they would find something else to grumble about.

Well, I have got back from walking MrT to find high drama going on. There was an emergency ambulance outside the Fatty family flat but it has gone now, minus anyone on board.
I wonder what is occuring? It may mean that I get a bit of peace and quiet now if he is poorly, but I notice not poorly enough to stop the kids from continuing to play outside!

Wordsmith - Yes, it is a rule that we cannot apply for internal vacancies until probation is passed, that is why (suspicious old me) I am wondering if she is delaying it? I will give it a week or so and then will try to formalise it, getting HR involved if neccessary. There is no training or feedback going on so I am not quite sure what the hold up is.

I am keeping a diary as to the noise issues just in case, I just wish they would lead a quieter life in the evenings, that's all. I don't think it is too much to ask, surely? No, they aren't tapping into my meter... but I do wonder if and how they are paying for their leccy?

One more day at work and then 2 days off, hooray! I am feeling a bit "bluurrh" this week, like I just can't be bothered. I am not down or feeling ill... just "bluurrh" - I need to get me a bit of oomph!
Or a glass of wine? Off in search of inspiration, and a bit of supper...

Look forward to the two days off. I had the day off today and the rest has really helped me to feel better.

I do hope you can get one of theser permanent jobs good luck SA. Keep trying.

More action at the Fatty's, can't be good for their blood pressure. Maybe they panicked or rudimentary first aid was required. Hope you and Mr T get a bit of peace tonight.

I am so sorry i am laughing and cringing too. Maybe the ambulance people refused to give them first aid. Is that allowed?:o
