  • Right.... finally managed to find a bit of time.

    So, where were we?

First things first - noise recording equipment is being installed today. Even though they are being mega quiet i have decided it is now or never. Even if I manage to record her tumble dryer I can prove how much it comes through into my flat, regardless of the time of day.

I spoke to HA BigWig on Monday and I think they are goind ahead with soundproofing as much of my flat as neccessary. My other neighbours will be very envious :D I think that if the kitchen floor and hall walls are done, that should be enough. Apparently it is quite a major job and of course my new carpet will have to come up :(

In my new role at the HA there will be lots of communication online due to my full time work and they are going to get me a laptop!!!!!
How is that for good timing? I am there next week for a meeting and they are going to try and sort one out for me by then, even though I don't take over officially until the end of October.

Current manager is bordering on tyrannical behaviour at the moment (no exaggeration) - I thought young, male colleague was going to walk out yesterday. I don't think that the setting of a date for my move has gone down particularly well and she is taking it out on everything and everyone around her. I think Managing People would be an ideal course for her to be sent on. Only 7 more working days though and I am out of there. I am taking a day off next week - don't see why I shouldn't - so I am ;)

I couldn't wait until the weekend so I bought my new TV last night. It is brilliant. Only a 26" screen but it seems ginormous after the ickle one that I have been watching. I watched The Great Bake Off in glorious big screen style. MrT had eyes like organ stops taking it all in (he watches TV, by the way) and didn't know quite what to make of it.

Painterman has been poorly apparently, so I am going to have to wait a little while for the bedroom to be painted but I can buy all the bits in advance and be ready for when he is. If he isn't better in a few weeks I have a retired neighbour who I am sure would be glad of the work and a bit of cash.

Still resolute - no contact with Ex. Final.

I have switched gas and electric suppliers and have been waiting for the "plenty of notice" that was promised in the blurb. So, I get a letter yesterday with a new card and key telling me that it is from tomorrow  I will have to find some cash to credit the meters and also lose the £50 credit that is on there - which I think is scandalous. Might look into that, it seems like robbery to me.

Not too much else to tell you, and if I had there is no time.

sw - How did you know I luuurve Tom Selleck - yummy!

    Have a good day everyone

    Hugs

  • Just popping in briefly to say that I like Tom Selleck - the older version. Georgeous as the boyfriend in Friends and then as the police Chief in the new Sky drama earlier this year. Love it, love him...... lots!
    Don't mind 'tache either.

Work was mega awful yesterday - feeling battered and bruised by the behaviour. Only 6 more working days to go.

Noise equipment installed yesterday - quiet from flat but very noisy from kids outside so they will get an idea from that.
The guy was very surprised that nobody from the Council had actually been round to listen to the noise from her dryer and how it sounds in my flat. I must admit that is one of the first things that I thought they would arrange. Like so many people now, work seems to be about sitting behind a desk staring at a computer monitor. What has happened to the world?

Will reply properly later. No time now as I am sitting behind a desk staring at a computer monitor.

Yay to the equipment being installed. Dont you worry they will return to their normal behaviour soon enough.

  • Hi everyone,

Hooray - last day of the working week :j Horrid again yesterday - so much so that young, male colleague is taking a day off today. So that leaves just me in the office. Current manger usually behaves a bit better when it is 1 against 1 - let's see.

Fatties are being ultra quiet - I don't mind as the end result has been achieved. If it doesn't stay that way I shall kick a*s again....and again.....and again until they are sick of me. They may soundproof the kitchen anyway. Who knows?

Got caught having a conversation with MrT (one sided) as we walked through woods last night :o As I was wearing my Ipod I expect it was louder than I would have liked..... the passer by gave me a very quizzical look. I scuttled away feeling very daft.

I have decided to go on a singles holiday to Italy next year. I want to go and see Pompeii again and do some sight seeing and it seems like the perfect time and something to really look forward to. Totally fascinated with the Romans and all things related - right up my street, and the hotel has a Spa too - OH YES :T Couldn't get any better really.

Nice weekend ahead, eye examination tomorrow for new glasses. Browse around shops and then cook a nice dinner and perhaps a couple of glasses of wine to accompany the launch of Strictly - love it! And all on my new big telly (big for me anyway) - Sunday will be chill day - I want to plan how the bedroom is going to be post-painting and make a list of the bits and bobs to buy. I got a new lamp from Argos this week thinking it would be great in the bedroom but the image was so different from the reality - the colour is really different so I have swopped it for one in the lounge and it seems to work. I love the lamp but the colour was wrong.

No, sw, I haven't heard from dojo - I hope he is OK. Perhaps he is just taking a break, like we all do from time to time. MSE is tidal and posters drift away then come back. Speaking of tides, poor David Walliams - who on Earth would want to swim 140 miles in the River Thames - yuk! Good Luck to him.

No more to report - catching up on everyones diaries tomorrow - sorry for the neglect, folks.

    Hugs
