  • Morning everyone,

Thank you to sw for her detailed comments to each of my updates :D just showing off that you can do that fancy stuff with the quotes, aren't you? Hee Hee.

Hi Rosa, aren't work issues a bore - especially when HR aren't as arbitary as they could be ;) small companies, small minds, I am afraid in this neck of the woods.

Finally managed to put some credit in my phone and so I will get in touch with Painterman today and get that organised. Just as B&Q are doing a 3 for 2 on paint - the time is right. I am doing the whole lot - walls, lamps, rugs. I have still got my lovely wooden blinds looking as good as the day they were put up and the curtains, although 5 years old, are georgeous and not for changing. It will look so nice, I know. The only slight niggle is that I will be moving my "office" into the bigger bedroom which is above the room where MrF spends all his time - large plasma screen, playstation, disco music etc. I shall just have to crank up the radio and beat him at his own game. I can't have one of the biggest rooms in my flat out of bounds because of him.

sw - you are right about the ex. He is very clever (I suspect) because he never actually "asks" for anything but manages to tell me all about the problems he has, the people that are chasing him for repaying his debts, the constant rain which means he can't work as hard as he wants to blah, blah, blah, knowing that I am a big softie and ultra generous and you can guess the rest. Well it a'int gonna happen this time:naughty:

I have drawn a line under it

There..... thought it, said it and now I am going to do it.

Only a half day at work today as I am off to HA for a meeting. I take over in October as Chair which gives me time to get a laptop and do a bit of research. Very excited. All sorts of new things going on.

I hope everyone is well and had a good weekend.

    Hugs

Good on your new boss! That's a good start. And a proper date that you can properly look forward to. Hope you got the letter today.

Well done on being elected chair of the Tenants' Association. In my mind you already had been! I'm sure it will be tough, but very worthwhile, and I am sure you will do a brilliant job. I hope you post about it on here. And how fab to have an excuse to buy a new laptop! Of course you must have one. Will anybody give you money towards it, since it is an essential bit of kit for doing the job (which itself, I presume, is voluntary?)? Maybe you've already answered this and I was not paying attention.

Will you have to take time off work to attend meetings, or will they be in the evening?

As for ex, you have done a very good thing. It seems that you are seeing him for what he is, which doesn't mean you won't still yearn for him (or for what was), but hopefully the times will get shorter and less frequent. And if not, well, SW and I are always here to frown and nag.

What about the holiday in February, though?

I am looking forward to hearing about your new bedroom. Lots of new starts. Exciting times indeed.

Don't know what to suggest about the F family. How long do you keep the noise monitoring equipment for? If they are being quiet, you might have to resort to taking your washing down to them and telling them your machine is broken and could they tumble dry it for you, but not until after 11 pm as you want to watch TV. Don't worry, I'm sure between us we can come up with a cunning plan.

I am sooo pleased that new boss lady stamped her foot and HR have now given you a proper date to move to your new job.

Bah humbug to the Fatties - get that recording equipment in though because they won't keep quiet for long.

As for ex - in the words of Hilary Devey - "I can feel my foot itching":rotfl:

Congrats on the Chairperson's job - you will be ace.

Foraging for food is fun and that sauce sounds divine. I may be foraging myself on Thursday night - it seems that there is a free foraging thing going on in Kings Heath, Bham from 6.30pm so I am heading off on that - I have a sneaky suspicion that it is picking fruit from people's gardens when they don't pick it themselves.

The noise monitoring equipment I had when i had a problem family next to me stayed for 3 months i think. Dont worry they will catch them in the act. And this time hopefully the rowdies will be moved.

Any ideas for decorating your bedroom? Mine is all cream. It is very relaxing but i am boring. Do you like bright colours?

You are nothing but a tease! When you have news to share, you get up earlier in order to share it, and not leave us tantalising messages. How am I supposed to work now? Tsk.

I hope you are not spending bedroom time with Tom Selleck as we are about to come and knock on your door.
