Morning SA,
glad to hear you're on the case with sorting out troublesome neighbours. It's a really horrible depressing feeling to be so unhappy in your own home. It's like an invasion of your sanctuary.
I had 2 years of hell when chavtastic woman bought the place below me. She had a grown up daughter & grandchild but would regularly host late night week end parties . The music would start up at about 2.30 am & go on until 5
I rang the EHO one night and he could hear it all down the phone including whoops & shouts & the most vile language imaginable ( & I'm no prude). Not quite sure what action was taken after that but I would make sure I was up & hoovering loudly by 7am the next morning to help with their hangovers.
Finally she met a a chavtastic fellow & moved in with him & now rents her place to a lovely family of 2 parents & 3 little ones. One of the babies was a midnight screamer but seems to have gown out of it now :j.
Great news on applying for another job, always good to give yourself options for new opportunities.
Totally with you re Nadal mmmmmmmm
Enjoy your day

Hi gang
Today I went to the village a) to drop off stuff to the charity shop which includes clothes and carrier bags, b) to go to the post office to get a leaflet showing postage costs (am sick of my local post office never having any) and c) to pick up the remainder of my prescription and now my fridge is full again with no room for food.
Need to get my head around ebay selling again - I have horror DVDs that belong to twerp, some CDs that belong to me when I managed the band (they never paid me so I kept their CDs and I have 16 of them to flog). Need to get the auction stuff listed that I bought last year but was too lazy to do anything about:o
Carwise - it isnt anything posh - a Y reg Toyota Yaris that I got new (paid for with compensation from a car accident).
Need to jiggle money around - must ask business bank if they will grant me a temporary overdraft. I hate being skint even though I have some money coming in it isnt anywhere near enough - must find another job or some self employed contract work.
Got back from village and found a crowd of studenty types hanging around outside - they had been to view one of the flats..I inwardly groaned because we want professional people in the flats not noisy students (they may not appear to be noisy on first meeting them but they will morph into noisy monsters - guaranteed). Gawd I sound like an old whingebag today.
Fingers crossed SA for your letter to the council - try not to fret about it, don't fret about mongrel boss either she will get her comeuppance soon enough. MrsF sounds wierd - maybe an anonymous call to the NSPCC wouldn't go amiss either.
Hope you and MrT have a fab day today.0 -
Sorry for hijacking your diary SA.
Thought you could all do with a laugh...I was mooching on gumtree yesterday for a job and I came across an advert for female wrestlers wanted - no experience required. I am not applying but thought that it was a strange thing to want.
I have found an 8hr a week post that I will be applying for (have done my CV now doing the covering letter) as an administrator for a music festival - basically organising it, sorting out licences, funding, accommodations etc. It pays £8-£10 an hour - so fingers crossed that I get it because it is more than I am getting for current client. Now I could have two regular clients and then continue with the other part of my business.0 -
A female wrestler - now, there's a thought.... wouldn't suit me, not enough ballast or padding but MrsF might be interested. She has ALL the neccessary attributes :rotfl:
Good luck with the job application. I spent two hours yesterday tidying up my CV and writing a job application for the Administrator vacancy I was talking about. I have emailed that off - fingers crossed. You can never have enough options open, can you? I am quite pleased with the letter - I would interview and employ me, for sure!
I went walking with MrT for over 2 hours yesterday afternoon/evening so it is a lazy day today. We will amble off to feed the ducks shortly and then settle down to watch the Wimbledon final. Good luck Rafa! :T
Not too bad a week ahead - a half day tomorrow, as I am off to HA for a meeting of the Tenants Federation. Then just one full day in my normal office, followed by a half day in the office that I am hoping to be able to move to eventually - if nothing else comes along before that.
Sausage and mash for Sunday lunch today. I don't know why, just fancy a bit of comfort food. Lots of gravy, and followed by bananas and custard - yummy.
Payday this week, not that it lasts very long. Part time wages, the new Sky d/d and the car bill to pay means that it is going to be a very tight month. Please, please let there be a full time job soon.
There was NO noise from downstairs last night. I went to bed and slept from 10pm until 6.30am and felt so refreshed. It made me realise just how much my sleep is being affected by the noise from MrF and his TV and game playing at nights.
The kids have already assembled outside the flat downstairs and will be there for the day/evening. MrsF took a bunch of them to the local river yesterday for a few hours - so much for being her husbands carer and unable to leave him. It gets weirder by the day.
Have a good day everyone, enjoy the sun.
Hugs

I like the thought of Mrs F as a wrestler - maybe you should give her the application form and offer to give a reference. I agree that the situation with the children seems very odd - isn't it a shame that we are so suspicious these days? However, there is friendliness and there is friendliness and this adult's behaviour does sound rather inappropriate.
I hope this week at work isn't too torturous for you. At least you are not under Madame Upstart's management all week. Good luck with the job application. I'm glad your second boss helped your confidence - it is all very well us doing it, but it means so much more when a real life person says it, especially one you work for."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Hope you have a good week SA.
I too can imagine MrsF as a wrestler:rotfl:
My business bank has given me a small overdraft which will help me out of a hole (not that I really need it but every little helps). Had a bonus yesterday, had a breakfast meet booked and the venue which is a not for profit decided not to charge me so that was £40 pure profit for me:cool:
I decided that I am going to spoil myself on Monday next. I was going to the Palladium on the coach and coming back the same day on the coach but I decided that would be too stressful. I have booked into a 5 star hotel:eek: thankfully, I have only had to pay £100 for the room including breakfast which isnt bad for London. Am staying in a boutique hotel in Earls Court - I get a free newspaper and a free bottle of water too. What amazed me was the price of some of the hotels - I thought The Comfort Inn was a budget place but they were offering a single room for £108 and I would have to have paid an additional £12.95 for breakfast...I could have driven there and parked (it was in Vauxhall which is a particulary cruddy part of the city too). Instead I have nice boutique hotel with breakfast included in the price, discounted coach fares (so no hassles with parking and driving there) and then I can have some cab spends and maybe use the bus as have Oyster card will travel. Saved on my Palladium ticket too so happy Horace all round:j
Now suffering from noisy neighbours in adjacent block again - Sunday night I went into my bedroom and could hear a loud war/horror type film on a tv (I don't have a tv in my bedroom because that room is for sleeping in). I worked out it was coming from Block 1310 Flat 6 so I got my glasses case and banged on the wall with it..tv was turned down but I think they thought I had gone to sleep (I was reading) and they cranked up the volume again so once again I was forced to bang on the wall...they soon quietened down after that and I was able to put my book down and go to sleep.0 -

Yes, are you OK, SA? I don't like it when regulars go quiet - not that you have any obligation to post (well, yes you do), but you weren't overly happy before you disappeared so just a little look in to let us know how you are and whether there is anything we can do would be good. And if there is anything any of us can do, please do shout. Thinking of you."Green pastures are before me,
