Just wanted to say I am sorry to hear you've been let down about the job. It does seem that people outside your immediate situation are taking you seriously, though.

It sounds as though you have decided to go for the Nice Office job? Have I read you right? There's a lot to be said for working with people you like. :)

    Hi everyone,

Meeting with Anti Social Man went well. He has given me the name of Boss Man in local Council Housing dept and told me to fire off a letter with all the documentation from the last 18 months of Fatty family issues. He said that they would either do something or reply in writing that they won't. IF they won't do anything then I go to the local Councillor again and bring him back into the loop.
Because I am HA and they are Council tenants it makes it a bit disjointed - if they were HA tenants he said he would sort it, once and for all... ;) but he can't, unfortunately.
And..... he has a meeting with the local Police next week on another matter and is going to bring up the issue of MrsF and her little gang of kids that she is assembling around her every day. I am getting some strange looks off people when I am describing the situation.... it must be a cause for concern.
Whilst at the HA I was approached by a.n.other and asked if I would be interested in standing for Chairman of the Tenants Federation! The election is coming up in July/August. I was very flattered to be asked and will certainly put myself forward ( for the title alone, if nothing else!)

My Sky package is going to cost me £60 a month :( but does include landline rental, broadband and all my beloved Sports channels so I suppose it is not too bad but after 6 years of paying nowt.... it hurts!

I have had my haircut. It looked so nice, until I took MrT for a walk and it started pouring with rain. Hey Ho.

I do hope that they aren't fobbing me off at work. It does seem to be one thing after another. I don't want to be in my current office much longer or my weird manager will start kicking off about something else, I just know it. Head down and out of trouble SA - you know how it's done....

Pizza and a glass of wine tonight. I can't face watching the highlights of the womens tennis, all that shrieking and grunting - it is like watching Spartacus all over again.... :D

    Hi SA

Deep sigh about job situation - why wouldn't they have thought about secure thing in advance - and fingers still crossed for job in nice office.

Someone once told me just to say 'no', don't qualify it in any way. 'Sorry, I can't' is much more effective than 'Sorry, I've got to feed the goldfish' because the other person can always start solving your 'problem' and suggesting you get the goldfish fed some other way, whereas 'Sorry, can't' has no comeback.
Having said that - I find the qualifying phrase is a really difficult habit to break!

This is so true - it really is easier if you can just stop feeling obliged to explain. After all, it's none of their business why you can't or to judge whether your time is well spent. I am trying very hard to do this now as I am utterly fed up of taking on extra stuff at work that ends up destroying MY personal life when someone else says they can't do it because of THEIRS! Enough! I am currently owed more than an entire week's time in lieu and this week has just been ridiculous - at one point I actually got so cross and frustrated I shouted at someone and left the room. I haven't done that in over 7 years, despite how mad my current job is. Obviously I apologised because it wasn't professional of me and fortunately my boss has found exactly the same difficulties in communicating with that person - who simply has no empathy whatsoever. So I am on work to rule now too lol! Fortunately job is going well so it is not likely to cause any issues, if anyone even bothers to notice.

I miss SW too :( there shouldn't be any need at all for anyone to be upset by an online stranger  if she comes back here we will look after her and turn any trolls to stone. And we have a karate expert here, remember - I'm sure Dojoman will also help us if anybody picks on SW again!

I expect they asked for it!

Any chance you will be able to get back the time they owe you?

Hooray.. a day to myself (and MrT of course)

I have done my little cleaning job, washing is on, and the sun is shining... wonderful!

I am going to drink some tea, read the paper, browse the internet followed by a walk for MrT and settling down to watch the tennis.
It would be nice for Murray to win but I cannot switch my allegiance from Rafa (swoon, swoon) but it will be good either way, I am sure.

My garden is looking lovely.. my new little hedge is gradually inching up, which I am so pleased about as I planted it very late. I have containers beside the front door which are full of brightly coloured bedding plants that seem to grow bigger every day. Pampas grass is really taking off now and sits alongside some bamboo. MrT lies out there for hours in the sunshine sunbathing and waiting for anyone to talk to him and of course to terrorise the poor postman, who thinks it is hilarious, as it is all for show and doesn't faze him a jot.

I couldn't sleep again last night - the sounds of a James Bond film from the bedroom below at 12.30am put paid to any chance of a good nights slumber. By Monday morning Council Housing boss is going to have a dossier on his desk.I am not putting up with it any longer.

My car is running well and the light has stayed off. Let's hope that he has cured it with the new sensor and that a new Cat wont be neccessary. It will be so convenient if I can get a job that I can get to on foot - no more car worries. Fingers back crossed.

Not too much to say so will sign off.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hugs

All sounding good and positive, SA. I hope you had a good day (apart from chasing trolls away). Gosh, soon we might have to address you as Madam Chairman, or Madam Chair, or Madam Chairperson - I'm not sure which, they all sound pretty awful. Perhaps we should just go for Ma'am, Ma'am.

Hope you enjoyed the tennis. I'm afraid I have no idea who Rafa is. I don't have a TV so don't keep up with things like Wimbledon.

Copper! Welcome back, missus. Am off to search out your diary, which I am sure you've updated ...

    Hello all

I can't stand James Bond but do like Rafa..he's rather hot:o I stopped watching women's tennis with the Williams brothers started playing - all the grunting makes them sound like warthogs on heat:eek:

Feeling a tad despondent today, I have realised that I hate my part time job but need the money and today I started to look for something else. I have no idea why but I feel as though I have regressed and become stupid.

Dumbo here signed up for a silver jewellery course for Monday only can't do it as I have to do the ring around for Tuesday's breakfast group. Talking of breakfasts I switched from the Holiday Inn to the Crescent Theatre and now the Novotel have come back to me with a fab price for a plated meal as opposed to baps which is what I would get at the theatre. The Holiday Inn also phoned me so I told them that I wasnt setting foot in there again and that perhaps they should think about their paying business customers before telling them that they are an inconvenience:mad: Must admit that I make more profit if I use the Theatre so not sure what to do at the mo.

I just feel worn out and am wondering what the point is? Maybe i should get a boring 9-5 job..part of me is feeling like this because I am skint:( Oh grumble and whinge.

I wonder what delights Cat Woman has in store this weekend? I have noticed that Doris who lives next door sometimes cooks goat and tripe which has a smell all of its own - why am I more bothered by smells? Doris is nice though and she doesnt make any noise.

Have to insure my car this month - I got a quote from Direct Line..a whopping £750! I rang the Post Office and have removed the motor legal protection insurance (I don't need it as I have access to a free legal helpline with the FSB) but have asked for protected NCD because I have more than 9 years of No Claims...cost to lil 'ol me is £382.08 which includes cover for my business travel as well.

    Hi guys,

Beautiful day, let's hope it stays like it all weekend.

Wordsmith.... Who is Rafa? Rafael Nadal, 25 year old Spanish (Mallorcan) hunk who is about to be deposed as World No1 tennis player on Monday :( by a guy called Djokovich. These two are the finalists at Wimbledon tomorrow. Now you are up to speed, I hope :D

I have composed and sent a two page letter to Council Housing boss about the neighbour issues along with various letters and emails that go back over the last 18 months. I am a bit hesitant this morning over whether it is a bit strong. Nothing is exaggerated or untrue, it is just my nature not to enjoy confrontation and I wonder what will happen now? just have to wait and see. It was quiet last night and I had a lovely nights sleep. Such a difference.

I was slightly alarmed yesterday by seeing MrsF writing something in biro on the tummy of a young (shirtless) boy yesterday evening. Not only do I think it is wrong, but I didn't like the way she was holding him either. If it was my son I would go bananas. There is something about all this that just doesn't seem right.... :(

I have seen a job advertised in the local paper for an Administrator in my town. I am going to apply for it as I am not holding my breath for anything soon at my current workplace. It just doesn't seem to be happening for one reason or another. Keeping my options open, as usual.

I was talking things over with my lovely boss at my little cleaning job this morning, and he assures me that it is not me with the problem, but my micro-managing Manager. He has a number of people of different nationalities working in his business and said that it is a constant threat that misunderstandings can arise. It is just one of those things and it has to be worked with rather than against. He boosted my confidence right back up again - it is so nice to be able to bounce things off someone else, especially when they are sensible and mature :)

Poor Horace, bad smells, bad job, bad brekkie venues..... Sorry!
Well done on the insurance though. You must drive a nice car for the premium to be that high. My little Fiat only costs me £200 a year and I don't have as much NCD as you.

    Off to hang out washing....
