    Hi guys,

Had a nice time horse riding yesterday - got my favourite horse back after he has had a break with a sore back. He was really up for it and it blew a few cobwebs away, I can tell you

Then..... on the way home, one of the engine warning lights lit up on my beloved car's dashboard..... it is the fuel injector light and it has happened once before - resulting in a hefty little bill. I did manage to get home, the performance didn't seem to change, but it will need to go to my mechanic a.s.a.p. Urgh... no money, no time... I was really down about it yesterday, but I think I have got a sort of plan worked out.

Tomorrow morning I will get up very early and take the car to the garage at 8.00 when he opens and ask him what he thinks? Then I will dash home and get ready for the interview, text my current manager and let her know there is a problem. Then I am spending the morning in the local office that I can reach on foot. After that I shall have to play it by ear. I can't reach my workplace on foot and there are is negligable public transport. But.... I am not going to stress about things that haven't happened yet, and may not.....
It may not be anything worse than taking just a half day off tomorrow.. help me Guardian Angel, please?

dojoman - sw is OK and has been in touch. Work and other factors have just meant a bit of a break from MSE has been neccessary, but I am sure she will be back soon. I have told her that we all miss her dreadfully but she has to look after herself and put that first and foremost. Hurry back though, sw.... :)

All quiet downstairs on the Noisy Neighbour front - I am now sure that other stuff has been going on. I know that other people have complained about them - hence the remote controlled vehicles no longer being played with outside for hours on end. The washer dryer is only on during the day. TV noise from bedroom stops dead when I go to bed - someone has had a word with them - definitely. I expect when there is a number of complaints from different addresses, it becomes more of a problem as it is not going to be just a personal vendetta. Not that mine is/was - I just wanted some sort of quality of life. Got it now - hooray!

Stayed up and watched Coldplay at Glastonbury - incredible. Absolutely fantastic and must have been amazing live. Beyonce today - she will be good as well, looking forward to that.

So that is it really - flat and garden tidy up today. Wash my poorly car and hope it isn't anything too drastic or costly.

    Keep you informed....

    Hi everyone,

Another beautiful day ahead, interview this morning, car off to mechanic in 30 mins - let us hope that all goes well.

Worryingly - I have been in touch with savingwannabe and it seems that something, or someone, has upset Kit and she says she has finished with MSE. :( Why does this have to happen on forums? I believe that there is a "duty of care" on boards - posters owe it to themselves and others to take care over what they write and respect others. sw is the sweetest, kindest person who, I know, has had problems with trolls and the suchlike in the past. I pray that she changes her mind and comes back to the board. Until then, look after yourself, we really miss you.... ;)

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Beyonce was amazing at Glastonbury, as I thought she would be.

I have succesfully put off friends visit and explained that I can't finance it or find the time and she has accepted that. Phew!

I am going on a detox - no booze, chocolate or junk food for a few weeks. I am feeling a bit bloated and slow at the moment. I am going to get rid of the muffin top and back to the slimline, racing version!

    Speak soon,

Fingers crossed for your interview today and the car.

Can't believe that your friend is such a cheeky mare - I am pleased that you said no.

Weekend was fairly quiet and a bit traumatic in places. Went camping on Friday and the rain lashed down (thankfully I had put the tent up before it got too heavy), went into town for dinner and then made my excuses and went back to my tent (I was soaked)..felt a bit bad because the folks I was with are boozers and I am not. Slept reasonably well, Saturday we went to see a waterfall (pretty) and then went on a massive hike, was lied to about the steepness of the hill which was almost vertical and the weather was atrocious you could barely see a hand in front of your face and certainly couldnt see anything behind. Coming down the hill was scarier because by that time I couldnt see a thing so I was helped down and twice landed on my backside:mad: The chap leading the walk seemed to think it was funny. When we got back we were supposed to be going out but I sat in my car for a while reading and then decamped to my tent and dozed. Missed going to the pub with them again and slept solid from 8pm until 9.15am yesterday.

Yesterday we went for another walk and then I discovered that we were going up another hill and I couldnt cope in the heat so said that I was going back to the car. Got my tootsies bitten by wood ants, got scratched by brambles and stung by nettles. Felt thoroughly exchausted - drove home but came off the motorway a bit early to hit a local Little Thief where I had a lovely pot of tea and a hearty early starter breakfast - at 3.45pm:D

Dunno, why I go on these walks - I prefer a gentle ramble not a yomp.

SA, how did the interview go? And how about your poor car?
I am sorry to hear about sw, I hope she eventually feels okay to come back. There are undoubtedly some obnoxious creeps around and I'm sorry if she ran into one of them.

Horace, that weekend sounds like seriously hard work! It's one thing going walking, quite another to put other people in danger especially if it's done under false pretences.
Reading in the car would have been my preferred option, too!

Thanks for your posts and interest even though there is not a great deal to report back.
I took my car to the mechanic and left it with him. Hopefully it is just an electrical glitch and nothing too major. I have got to ring him just before 5pm. At least I will have some notice if I wont have it for tomorrow.

The interview was postponed again!!!!!!! I got a call at 9am saying that my interviewer had not gone into work and was still poorly. However, the other staff member has withdrawn her application and it is only me applying.Just my luck at the moment if I still didn't get it.... :( As soon as the lady is back at work, they are going to reorganise the interview, sooner rather than later. Can't come soon enough.

I did spend the morning at the other office though, and it was brilliant. Good work, good systems and good management ;) I stayed until after lunch and have just got home. I have rung my manager and told her I am taking the rest of the day off with "time owed" and I will be in tomorrow. A couple of extra hours to watch the tennis. :D

Boiling hot here, and humid.... phew! It is supposed to break tonight, a little bit cooler would suit me fine. Takes me back to when I lived abroad... hot, hot, hot.

Horace - that sounds like a weekend from hell. I wore a pair of sandals for the first time this year and got a corking great blister. How does that happen? They were as comfy as a pair of old slippers last year.

    Speak soon,

I think sandals do it deliberately, one year they are as comfy as old silppers and the next they will bite you at every turn..maybe they don't like being shut away for the winter?

How irritating having the interview cancelled again - can't they find another interviewer? Sheesh.

Up bright and early. I couldn't stay in bed any longer, it is just too warm. MrT, however, is still snoozing....

Update.... I have got my car back. The mechanic has fitted a new sensor to the catalytic convertor (something to do with exhaust emissions) and it is running fine. I managed to rustle up enough cash to pay him most of the cost, and will pay the balance off next week when I get paid. The relief is tangible - I hate the thought of breaking down. Serves me right for sitting there thinking how well my little car was running when..... :( Apparently if the light comes on again it may mean that it needs a new catalytic convertor - it was only replaced two years ago... mind you, that was at K Fit, so probably means nothing!

Can you believe I walked MrT for 90 minutes along by the river, took him home and then walked to get my car - 2 and a half hours walking in that heat and humidity. I was so hot. I caught a glimpse of myself in a window and I looked like a tomato! No wonder I got strange looks in the supermarket when I stopped to buy some dog food that was on offer. I didn't even have gym gear on to explain my appearance.... :o All is well though.

I have got good vibes about things. I think I AM going to get a job at the other office. It did occur to me that now the other applicant has withdrawn I could be interviewed by someone else as the fairness thing no longer applies. Nothing to be compared anymore, but then I realised that they are waiting for this lady to return as she is the Office Manager and will need to meet and approve first.
Only two days at work at my normal place this week, I have refused to do overtime - I am on a Work to Rule until I get a chance to transfer. ;)

Off to get MrT out of bed and out for a walk. Enjoy your day everyone.

sw - if you do pop in for a catch up - email me please?

    Hugs

Hi, SA. Glad you had an enjoyable time in the prospective new office yesterday - it gave you a chance to check it out and them a chance to check you out. Hopefully the people you worked with will tell the manager that she absolutely must take you on. If you give us her name, we will write to her to tell her she must take you on. It makes sense that it is the manager that will have to do the interviewing. Did you get a taster of what the actual job will be? It's frustrating having to wait, but then the best things are worth waiting for.

Glad the car wasn't too bad. It's a bit of a worry about the possible new catalytic converter, though. Still, at least you have been forewarned and so can save up for it.

SW - I am so sorry someone has upset you. Just remember, though, it is just one person and the rest of us very definitely want your input, so PLEASE come back. Look after yourself in the meantime.

Hope today isn't too awful at work, SA - you must feel uncomfortable with your manager now. Remind me, did you apply for both jobs in the end?

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.
