    Hello gang

At least it was nothing too serious about your car SA but can understand why you were nervous about it - I hate things going wrong with mine.

By the time you posted this morning I was already out of the house (I say house - I live in a flat) at my breakfast meeting (or at least getting ready for it). The meeting was ok - there were 6 of us and I have had some feedback - it seems I need more structure (why do I get the feeling that I am being nagged??). After breakfast I had to head to Stratford upon Avon to a rather swanky hotel for a lunch meet - jeepers I hate lunch meetings. We had to be there for 11.30am so we had a bit of chit chat then the chairs were put in a circle and we had to say what we were worried about with our businesses. Lunch followed - what a farce - they gave me sea bream and I am allergic to fish, so it was whisked away and one chap was given chicken so his plate was exchanged for mine - I had chicken with some odd gloop, squashed new potatoes with mint and garlic butter and some roasted fennel (I assume it was that but didnt eat it because I don't like fennel), followed by sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce, blob of ice cream and half an alpine strawberry...I wish I could have had the fruit salad as it looked much nicer. We each had to talk about our businesses and share a secret - mine was a pole dancing certificate but someone else was even more shocking because he admitted to having a particular part of his anatomy pierced numerous times - why would anyone do that to themselves?

Came home via the scenic route - had to go to docs to pick up my prescription (in desperate need of eye drops) and no soon as I had got home then I needed to go out again to a committee meeting:eek:

I was asked today too if I heard the thunderstorm we had last night - what thunderstorm said I? It seems that there was a storm at about midnight that went on for 2 hrs - I was woken at 2pm but thought I just needed the loo so got up attended to my needs and then went back to bed - I never heard a thing:eek:

Hope everyone is ok. SW dont let the trolls win - just ignore them, don't feed them and they will buzz off.

    See y'all tomorrow.

    Hi SA,

great news that the car is fixed & within your means too.

Hope the interview hurry's up while you're all fired up for it.

Please give love to SW - haven't had many direct chats with her, but she comes across as a delightful character & I know has been a great support to many so to come back soon.

Must dash to catch up with all other diaries now

    xx

    Hiya!

Still no sign of an interview.... the manager must still be off sick. The HR manager did say that they would arrange something at short notice as soon as she got back, so I am just trying to chill about it.
Yesterday was weird at work - my current manager acting totally over the top, all excited, loud and giggly - doing my head in, in fact

Young male colleague doing everything he possible could to avoid a rather tiresome task we were given a couple of weeks ago. It involves ringing previous customers (lots of them) - I can see a mile off that he isn't doing it but manager is having none of it and assures me that when I am not there, she hears him making SOME calls - yeah right! And I am the Queen of England, don't you know! :D But.... I don't care anymore - I am out of there at the soonest opportunity. I am far too good for there and now I know it.
Apparently the manager who is set to interview me is in her fifties, thank heavens, a little bit of maturity at last.

Wordsmith, the plan is that if I don't get this job then I am being put forward for the second job. The former is higher paid, more responsibility and only open to internal candidates and I think (secretly) HR lady wants to see me get it, well I hope so ;)

After a couple of relatively quiet weeks, Fatty family came back with a bounce yesterday - gang of kids outside before, during and after school. MrF back playing with his remote controlled car for a few hours and - the icing on the cake - playing war games on his machine in the bedroom. It woke me up at 1am and finally I had to stamp loudly on the floor at 1.30am and it stopped.
Very, very luckily, I have an appt tomorrow morning with Anit-Social man at HA before I go into a meeting for something else. What a clever bit of planning, SA, to know that it would be a very timely meeting indeed. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THEM!!!!!!! :( I think the Summer Holidays are going to be awful if something isn't done beforehand.

I am so tired this morning......

Off to walk MrT and then my last day at work for this week. I am thrilled that I refused to do overtime - I am finally learning how to say NO.. taken a while, but I got there.

Car is running beautifully - I am so happy, I love my little car.

Off now to get things underway. Have a good day everyone.

I am not sure what has happened with sw - I can't get to the bottom of it, but so much goes on behind the scenes with pm's and so on, I just want her to come back into the fold, even if it is on one or two selected threads only. We would look after her, wouldn't we? :)

    Hugs

That's great news aboutyour car! :) I am just reading the 'No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' stories and now I have you in my mind as Mma Ramotswe with her tiny white van...

It's very sad that SW has disappeared off: someone with such a lot to offer, I do hope that whatever has happened doesn't go too deep and we get her back.

:D So many of us must know exactly that feeling! Someone once told me just to say 'no', don't qualify it in any way. 'Sorry, I can't' is much more effective than 'Sorry, I've got to feed the goldfish' because the other person can always start solving your 'problem' and suggesting you get the goldfish fed some other way, whereas 'Sorry, can't' has no comeback.
Having said that - I find the qualifying phrase is a really difficult habit to break!

    Hi SA
sorry that your manager is being so carp. That is really rough. Don't let her knock your self esteem. She has a go, because you are probably better at her.

Well done on not meeting your friend. I think maybe she may be a bit toxic for you....

    Phew about the car

And ref SW I really hope she comes back. I hate it when regulars get picked on. Especially when they are as so supportive as SW is

Can it get any more complicated?

Colleague at work tells me, yesterday, that poorly person is back at work and asks is my interview scheduled? First I have heard of it ... and I wait.... and I wait..... and I wait until nearly going home time when HR lady comes into office and asks me for a private word... :(

Bosses have now decided that the person who goes to work in the new position has to be employed by the company for a minimum of a year as it is a highly secure office. Now they tell me! So..... I can still apply for the other, lesser job or... there is a vacancy coming up in the office I worked in on Monday. However, the manager is on holiday until the middle of July and nothing can be done or discussed until her return. Big boss man wants me in that department to make use of my telephone and communication skills but it means a wait and it means letting the other job go. Grrrrrr  It is a nice office though and the team are really nice. I would be happy working there, I know. But it could be the end of August..... can I wait?
I suppose I will have to.

Very quiet on the Fatty Family Front - this usually happens when I have kicked off about the noise. I am still going to talk it over with Anti Social man - it is obviously always going to be a problem if something isn't done. Their lifestyle is such that they just can't be quiet. Added to the fact that they don't work and are there 24/7 ther is no let up or peaceful time to take advantage of.

    I sound so moany - I do apologise :o

Off to HA this morning and haircut this afternoon ( much needed and long overdue) then a couple of days off to dwell on my future plans. No news of job abroad as yet, but I don't think I want to move again. I am pretty settled here, or will be when I get a decent job sorted out.

    Update later.

Aww, SA. These things are surely sent to try us. You are being set up to be sooo happy once all the right changes have come about. It must be horrible waiting, but if at the end of it you get the right job, you can put it all behind you then. Can you still go for interview for the other job, just to see what it's about and to let the bosses that be know that you are serious about moving out of your department? You can always turn it down if you are offered it, but it might widen your options at the moment. You could talk to HR and say that you really need another job and you are concerned that the one coming up in your town, although it would be the best option, might fall through and you would be stuck where you are.

You aren't being moany - if you can't pour it out here, where can you? I am hoping things go your way, even if you have to wait a bit. It will be worth it.

Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.

you are not a moany old whingebag:rotfl:

What a b*mmer about the job now being highly secure and all that malarky..still fingers crossed for job in office in your home town. As for boss woman being all loud and giggly - was she drunk?

I have some news too - the schlep-us around-us students are leaving and other people in the block are going too. Now landlord and his chaps are waiting to see if the dope smell is still around when the 'problem' tenants have gone - I swear blind it is cat woman downstairs who stinks out my flat either with un-neuteured tom cat wee, dope or her bad cooking (switch the ruddy extractor fan on you lazy fat lump of lard!) Cat woman is not yet leaving.

In other news...my peas have pods so now I can look forward to 6 pods of peas:cool:
