Good luck, SA. Your post last night didn't sound at all negative - it was full of positives and workings out. I have a similar personality - that's why I am self-employed on the whole, because if I work for a company I am not shy about telling it as it is.

Come on as soon as you can to tell us how it went, won't you?

    Hi there,

Not much to report really - I spent the best part of a day and a half preparing myself for the interview, dressed up, showed up, and got told that the lady due to interview me had gone home poorly!

The other candidate has been interviewed but the interviewer had become increasingly unwell and wasn't well enough to stay for mine.

The interview is now being held on Monday morning so, luckily, I don't have to go back to my office until after the interview. That would have been horrid, seeing as I have yet to go back after my "wonderful" review on Wednesday.

I did ask to do the written assessments and I have completed them. I think they went well and were really enjoyable. If that is the type of work that the department does, then I know I will enjoy it. Real nitty gritty finance, old style maths, and balancing it all at the end of the task.
    My forte!

So, fingers crossed for me? I will start psyching myself up again tomorrow and start all over.

Visiting friend has asked again if she can visit, but has informed me that she can't afford the fare and will I pay?
The stupid generous me of the past would have done so without a second thought.... not now though. I shall inform her that it is a No
Go :( I am certainly not going to stump up the best part of £50 for a visit that I don't particularly want to happen. I am not in the right frame of mind anyway.
Feeling a bit subdued and down in the dumps...

    Off horse riding this afternoon,

What a let down about the interview. Still, at least you did the tests, so a) you looked eager, and b) you won't have to do them on Monday. Fingers and everything else are crossed for you all right.

What a cheek your "friend" has, asking you to pay her fare. Well done for declining her offer. Just as well, though, eh?

Sorry you're feeling down in the dumps. Not surprising at the moment - but it will pass, I promise. Riding will hopefully clear your mind and get those endorphins pumping round your body. Can you plan anything else nice for the weekend to give yourself a bit of a boost?

Fingers still crossed for interview, and I also think your friend has a cheek. (And a brass neck - she could at least have made a suggestion where she took part of the cost, like meeting you halfway or something!)
