Nice little surprise when I got home a £20 Boots voucher as a thank you for completing a survey a while back, had totally forgotten about it. Will hang on to it for the moment. Also got the reminder for my tax return, checked to make sure i remembered my login so will get that done in the next few days. I'm not leaving it so late next year.

Anyway off to bed, have splitting headache.

Afternoon all, finally decided to stock up so I don't have to spend so much each day on stuff from canteen. I've bought cereal to leave at my desk, and stocked a drawer with cereal bars, cup a soups, cup pasta etc. OH has depleted my piggy bank by £8 now (my £2 savings jar) for cigarettes. Can't say I'm pleased but he says he'll pay me back. Not really the point, its my £2 savings pot. Started sorting out my tax return last night and will get it finished off shortly.

Had a thought (dangerous, I know!) should I sell my Boots vouchers on Ebay? Seems like they sell for aroun 80% of face value. On one hand it would be more off my debt and Boots to get to here is a nightmare, on the other I could use it to stock up on a few bits (yes I know Boots can be more expensive).

Today's off to a good start, I've not spent anything on breakfast. Have had cereal at my desk (from the box I bought yesterday), I've also realised that just buying cereal out of our work's canteen would cost me over £200 a year! That's frightening. Not sure how long a box of cereal will last me, two working weeks maybe? If that's right then that's roughly £30 a year buying it myself, thats a huge saving.

  • A hug and a woo hoo for the cereal in the drawer and the lunch bits in the drawer - I'm on a challenge myself to cut down the spends at work or when out and about on food.

:) we'll keep each other company.

Its difficult Pippi, have gotten out of the habit of having breakfast at home on work days as prefer another 10 minutes in bed in the morning. Trying to get as many yellow sticky bargains as I can. OH says our freezer is packed (previously couldn't get in to it as his and SS stuff was right in front of it and too heavy for me to lift). So will need to investigate the freezer and see what there is. I know we have a leg of lamb in there (present from a friend who's partner works in MrT's and got it for 30p!!!!!).

Glad you enjoyed the silence Unix, it's nice sometimes isn't it!!

Ooooh, what kind of dog you have, and when are the puppies due? We had two litters out of our first golden retriever when I was a kid...it was wonderful...and hard work!! So sad to say goodbye to them, though we did keep a pup from each litter. (sorry, just realized info about dog was on another thread!)

Good luck with raiding the freezer. I did a stock-take last weekend, but have since added lots of stuff (mainly HM from other stuff taken out of freezer)...it multiplies!!! :rotfl: Really need to update my list and get a menu plan sorted out for the next two weeks.

Been out all day (working...and knitting) and off out again tonight (fun messy stuff!!!) Only on here as needed to contact suppliers of DS2's weightlifting shoes. he's had them just under a month, and the leather is spliting around some of the eyelets!! Apparently this is a common problem with this make, so have been offered a full refund, or an exchange with another brand which doesn't seem to have this problem. Need to discuss this with DS2 when he gets back from walking the dog...it's getting dark out there now, so they won't be long! Our dog doesn't like being down the fields in the dark!

Hope you have another peaceful evening! xx

I have a husky, Keiss. Well, a few. They are a handful, but lovely and just big teddy bears. Unlike their name suggests they hate the rain/wind and snow (I think I've spoiled them) and prefer being snuggled up with me.

Well done on your stock take Keiss, I need to do mine but will do it tomorrow. Have washing machine to empty, then bed. Did some Tarot tonight (about £12) so that's at least the minimum done.

    Night night all.

morning all, no spends for me this morning. Had cereal in work (yay). OH paid me back money he owes me, ok so it's not in £2 coins but as soon as I get any I'll put them back into my jar.

Have been clearing out some clothes to take to the recycling place this weekend. They only pay 50p a kilo but with heavy items it soon mounts up. I think (not weighed it yet) I have about £15 worth so will put that towards my hair appointment next week. Does anyone else use these clothes recycling places?
