Would appreciate your thoughts on this one please chaps:-
texted a friend asking for an expensive piece of DIY equipment back (they borrowed it a year ago), no reply. Then I get told (I drove past her place to check and its true) that the said DIY equipment had been put out on their balcony and had to rusted beyond repair (its also electrical!). She's still not texted me back (that's been 3 days), yet she texted me as normal at Christmas etc. OH says leave it but I'm angry we'll have to fork out for a replacement when she borrowed it. To let you understand OH used this to do some extensive DIY in their place as her OH had started it and was making a mess so they were happy for help and got a very professional finish. She has saved a fortune by having your OH do the job and therefore should replace the equipment if its broken.

I've told her I need it as doing work in our house and my Gran's (which is true) but she's still not got back to me. Think I might text her again Dragon, that might prompt her to respond. This is the 'friend' that held onto my wedding pictures for a year, she also promised to make me a wedding album as a present and never did.... then she claimed she never did it as she wanted to do it together (but funnily enough never said). I saw her (and it definitely was her) before christmas and texted her (once I got where I was going as was driving) to say 'hi, saw you in blah, blah', she claims it wasn't her but she was with somebody that wasnt her OH.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Agree with both Dragon and lucielle, she should certainly replace it or reimburse you with the money!

She did save a fortune Lucielle. My OH tiled their whole bathroom for them. Her OH had read the tile packet and started in the centre of the room which you're not meant to do. He'd also put way too much adhesive on the tiles he had put down (4, which was now stuck fast). OH offered to take these up but would mean breaking them as it would look odd. They said no and asked OH to do the rest. He levelled the rest as best he could to the ones that had been put down already and then started on the walls. OH finished their whole bathroom in one evening, a decorater had quoted 3 days and £400. OH didn't take a penny off them. Our tile cutter got forgotten that night (we got chatting over coffee) and she kept forgetting it when meeting up. Its a professional tile cutter (the type the big companies use) so its not cheap.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. As promised on LT's thread i said i'd explain more. Basically he tried to start an arguement, first over dinner (did bacon and eggs with 2 fresh warm buttered rolls and apparently it wouldnt fill him up and why couldn't i cook something else), then over a comment he made about his job he said he couldn't be bothered with it (full time job at his age earning more than most at my OH's age!)... we told him to remember how he felt when he didn't have a job but he kept talking over us then started shouting and threw his mobile..... nice huh? It got worse, much worse. Then I snapped and said no more, leave. Am shattered, off to bed.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
