Happy New year everyone.
After a few days away (from the diary), OH being as negative as possible and SS I tore strips off of, ordered a new mattress (old one is quite past it for my back), we've been bad and ordered it through the catalogue (via quidco) but will pay it off before they charge us interest. Planning on getting back to tarot tonight (OH back to work tonight so I'll get peace). Just sorting out my tax return and wondering whether morally its ok to borrow some of the money out of SS's balloon payment fund to pay my tax (sub £100) and pay it back at end of the month. What does everyone think? Yes i should have already had the money there but car repairs were necessary last year (haggled the garage down to £55 for my exhaust).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Hya Unix, well done on the Egg card. :T:T We had one lurking for years...DH just kept forgetting about it. Managed to pay it off last year, so "only" have the 0% free one (15 months) and the Mr T one we use and (mostly) clear every month.
Going to try a new tack in trying to save money for the next few months. Going to take out so much cash for the month, and see if we can manage to survive on it...food and odds&sods spending at least. Going to try and avoid using the CC as much as possible this month...we'll see how it goes, could be interesting!!
Hope this year brings you happiness and peace of mind...and some money too! I can vouch for a new mattress being a god-send. Once you have a good night's sleep, you can cope much better. with all that is flung at you.
Take care if you are out and about today, the weather is foul !! xx

Thanks Keiss, i'm actually thinking about keeping a spending diary this year to see exactly where my money is going. I am in a bad habit of buying at least one bag of crisps a day and a chocolate bar, might not sound like much but its at least £1.50 (average) a day which is £360 a year...... that's basically my car insurance! I've started putting £2 coins away (£10 so far), not sure what to put this to or whether to also put it in my signature. Have crackers for lunch today (trying to use up what we have in the house).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. hi Uni, glad to see you back after your few days off, sometimes they're necessary.
sounds like a spending diary would work well for you if you get little bits each day, try it for a month and see how you go.
as to your question about the borrowing of money, i would say only do it if you've asked first. you've understandably been really annoyed when he's helped himself to your things or not paid his way so i would by the same token make sure you got his agreement before borrowing it.0 -
What is the SS Balloon fund? Is it something he pays into or just you for him?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

its for his car loan Dragon, rather than trust him to save it up (over a year) he has to give me £60 a month to put away for him. That way we know its there.
Good point LT, I would ask him but have a funny feeling he'll either say no or cast it up to me forever. I might just wait and pay it last minute, I get paid on the 27th anyway.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. i think a last minute payment may be your best option to be honest. I'd hate for him to have something to fling at you when you're next reading the riot act to him.
don't know why you're tired but i am as well all the time at the moment but that's because Mr LT decided to talk till about 1am this morning. and i was good by getting in bed by half 11 which is my only resolution this year.0
