Thanks Z, Chev. He's knows he has it cushy, he still owes me £3 for something I bought him for his holiday but last night all I got was "need to pay you tomorrow don't have that on me", so I'll hold him to it. OH also asked him to bring in chocolate last night (SS tried to claim it was £1.89, when the £1 sticker was still on it), OH had 2 squares and put it in the fridge. This morning? No chocolate, SS had eaten it during the night. Told OH to pay SS 10p, the relative cost of what he cost to eat before SS demolished the rest without asking.

Morning all, got my hair done last night which although cost me £50 (not bad for what I get done) has cheered me up. OH asked me this morning whether we should let SS off without paying dig money whilst he's on holiday. I've said no we shouldn't otherwise he gets the wrong message and will think (an earlier incident where he stayed with his sister for a few days and pulled this one was mentioned on Pippi's diary) that all he has to do is be out over the weekend and not have to pay dig money. I said to OH if he was renting somewhere he would still have to pay his rent money, its no different.

Can I have other people's opinion on this? Should we let him away without paying dig money whilst he's on holiday, he's only away for a week (8 days actually) but the way it falls means he would pay 2 weeks if that makes sense.

SS still owes me for his travel adaptor and padlock. He went and bought this huge suitcase yesterday and its cheap plastic and VERY bendy. I've travelled a lot over the years and this will not survive getting thrown about by baggage handler but he wouldn't listen.

I really need to lose some weight before the holiday and am desperately trying to cut out all carp but not doing very well. OH is still not smoking which is a big plus but took the nip with me when I said to call the agency this morning to see if there's any work even just for a few days. What is it they say, the squeaky wheel gets oiled?

Get him to pay the rent money Unix...and by DD, then you will definitely get it!! He really is taking the P atm, very cross with him.

Neither of my boys are earning (one @ Uni and other @ school/college), so have no money to pay for anything, but they work round the house, hoovering and ironing as well as doing some much needed gardening, so they are sort of paying their way. They also cook meals and always do the dishes...though DS2 has got out of that now he has broken his wrist :o Neither ask for very much, if anything, it's usually me who keeps offering to get them things. :D Looks like you have been landed with a PITA for a SS.

Sorry for the rant, hope it hasn't upset you.

Have a lovely holiday when you go, I am always trying to lose weight before going on holiday, rarely manage it, then come home heavier than ever (sorry, not very encouraging) :o! Just relax and enjoy yourself, you have been (and still are) under a lot of strain, trying to lose weight as well, especially if you comfort eat (me too), is just going to make you feel worse. Just try to eat sensibly and healthily before you go and say you will get back onto the slimming bandwagon when you get back.

Right, off to see if DS1 and Dh need help packing the car - DS1 back to uni today, sad a bit, but can't wait to use his room as a craft room again!! :)

Of course you can let him get off with the rent - just move someone else rather more grateful into his room while he's away. Win-win...

  • Keiss, I'm not upset. I know you're right. Just nice to know I am right and not being mean. He's 20 and working full time and does naff all in the house apart from when asked. He's supposed to clean the main bathroom once a week and doens't do it.

So Keiss, you're another crafter? :j I love my crafting stuff. What's you favourite to make? Have the other nappy cake to finish tonight and am slowly doing the 30th birthday hamper. Have red and cream flannels to swirl with a strawberry lolly centre for a flannel cupcake. for it. I've got really nice pink paper with little strawberries on it, but will scan it so I can use it again. Then I'll cut this for the cupcake case. I really need more double sided sticky tape. I got some fab stuff in Blackpool (it had red plastic backing) and it was mega sticky and although I've seen the 3mm stuff on ebay I've not seen the 6mm which I prefer.

Ok, I was bad at lunchtime I bought a nice top for my holiday (bought a polo shirt for OH as well). Only bought from the supermarket and it was 25% off so not too bad (£17 all in).

Well done on getting something nice for yourself (and OH!) Unix :T!

I make loads of different things, I have been knitting since I was 4; sewing since 7; got into cross stitch again last year and have recently joined a local quilting group.

I did an Xmas stall last year and am due to do another this year (). Last year I did sock cupcakes, soap & flannel reindeer and loads of things inspired by this thread. I will be getting into the sewing bits much more now that DS1 has gone :D.

Should have been shopping this afternoon, but really don't feel like it...far too hot...was 27 degree earlier and must be even hotter by now :eek::eek:

Need to get Dad's present wrapped and posted today, it's his birthday next week, I have knitted another pair of sock for him...his request!

Enjoy the rest of the day....looks like it will be another lovely one for most of us.

I've finished my latest nappy cake and delivered it (A lot easier delivering it when its someone in the same building). OH being a grumpy ****, had huge row last night over how many burp cloths I put into a nappy cake with him insisting it was X and wouldn't believe me even when I showed him 'ingredient cards' from previous ones. I don't care whether 'he's' suffering and told him that and gave as good as I got last night. Sick of his behaviour and I think he now knows it. He's on VERY thin ice.

So now he's a nappy cake expert? The thought of that makes me laugh so hard my buttocks start to loosen...
