Argos - ineptitude causing the near loss of a bargain

Inside shop Manager is in charge...outside shop he isn't.
Yup, and he was presumably handing out tickets inside the shop as that's where the people who joined the queue at the front were.
The OP said: "Just as I get in, the manager comes out with about 5 tickets, 1 of which goes to one of the people who had pushed in ".
So it's evident that if he was inside the people in front of him were as well.
Maybe the OP will clarify but it looks to me as if the manager just started handing tickets to the first people he encountered rather than ensuring that he handed them to the people who queued.0 -
Where does the OP say Argos designated a queue?
Why don't you just read the OP?
He said: "customers could go in a browse the catalogues, but for the offer they needed to be in the queue".
If Argos hadn't designated a queue then everyone would have walked in when the shop opened and gone to the ordering points.0 -
The OP turned up just as it was opening if memory serves...there's no way he could know if someone was absolutely 'pushing in' in my book.0

Just read the OP (properly).
That way you'll stop making a fool of yourself by making observations that don't relate to what was actually said.0 -

I've never heard of Argos designating queues before (been to 3 new store openings) but maybe they have so...
...you could join the queue...go in and browse and come back out and join the queue where?...perhaps in front of the OP who had just arrived as the store was opening?
...you are more than welcome to try and police that scenario.0 -

You really do have serious problems understanding plain English, don't you?
Look:
I got to Argos just as it opened and there was a large queue, we were all waiting, when we saw 2 people just walk into the store
Got it now?you are more than welcome to try and police that scenario.
Had the manager used some intelligence he would never have got himself into that situation.
He would have handed out the tickets before opening the doors so that any earlier indiscipline in the queue would not have been his concern.0 -

I quote OP:-
'I got to Argos just as it opened and there was a large queue, we were all waiting, when we saw 2 people just walk into the store, everyone noted'
...a large queue where you could go in and browse?....and come back out and rejoin the queue..and do so several times.
...a large queue which we can assume as the OP is honourable they joined at the end of just as the store was opening? So therefore the last minute OP may be mistaken as to if/when/where these people were in the queue before they (the OP) arrived? Y/N
...large queue...everyone noted...hmmm?
Note...we disagree on this but I would never call you a fool..why did you call me one?0 -

A queue doesn't work like that. You're either in the queue or you're not. If you leave the queue at any time, in my opinion it means you forfeit your place in it.I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.
