Argos - ineptitude causing the near loss of a bargain

I quote OP:-
'I got to Argos just as it opened and there was a large queue, we were all waiting, when we saw 2 people just walk into the store, everyone noted'
...a large queue where you could go in and browse?....and come back out and rejoin the queue..and do so several times.
...a large queue which we can assume as the OP is honourable they joined at the end of just as the store was opening? So therefore the last minute OP may be mistaken as to if/when/where these people were in the queue before they (the OP) arrived? Y/N
You need to apply some critical thinking - I can see this is difficult for you so I'll give you an example.
He said "We were all waiting when we saw 2 people just walk into the store".
so:
1) If he was waiting, he must have been in the queue - otherwise he wouldn't have been waiting, he would have been walking up to the queue.
2) If he was in the queue he would have noticed if the people in question had been in the queue ahead of him and said that they 'left the queue and entered the store', rather than 'just walk into the store'Note...we disagree on this but I would never call you a fool..why did you call me one?
Because of the evidence.
And I didn't say you were a fool, I said you were making yourself look like one (by repeatedly making statements that showed that you hadn't bothered to read and understand the OP properly).0 -
So if if Argos give me a slip of paper saying I was in the first 5 in the queue and I wander off?..have no knowledge as to when anyone arrived before me. They could have queued and viewed multiple times perhaps?
Why do you insist on continually talking about things that didn't happen?
I'm sorry but it really does make you look foolish because we are talking about a specific incident, not some hypothetical that you choose to make up.
There was no mention of anyone "wandering off" with a ticket.
If the people who "pushed in" arrived before OP then he would either have noted them leaving the queue and entering the shop or exiting the shop and joining the queue.
What he couldn't have seen was them just walking in.
You need to attempt to visualise what happened from what the OP said, not keep trying to impose your own unrelated alternatives onto the actual story.0 -
Moglex....I visualise the OP arriving just as the store was opening and joining a long/large queue and getting it wrong because they were not fully informed...am I therefore foolish?0

I fear so because although it's been explained you still don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that any normal person can easily tell the difference between someone approaching a store and walking in and someone leaving a queue and walking in.
If you had applied a little further critical thinking to what you had been told instead of dreaming up little fantasies of your own you would have noted that the man who "pushed in" handed over the ticket when challenged which he would hardly have done if he had queued legitimately.
Please read the OP again carefully before you come up with any further scenarios that don't relate to what we have been told.0 -
The OP arrive just as the store was opening....Y/N
If the answer is Y....how can the OP or anyone make a comment on anything that nobody actually witnessed?0 -
...it's your opinion...thanks for not calling me a fool! So if if Argos give me a slip of paper saying I was in the first 5 in the queue and I wander off?
That never happened though did it? The OP said the Person who pushed in walked into the store before the manager gave out the tickets therefore, he didn't join the queue, and must of pushed in to obtain a ticket.
Gonna have to agree with Moglex here Gordi. You're clearly wrong but you won't accept it so are clutching at straws.I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

You are just trolling now, aren't you?
Nobody can be so dense that they still wouldn't understand even after all the explanations you've been given.0 -
All this over a tv, sheesh0

You told me I'm foolish and dense...you've lost.0

I thought this thread was finished.
I'd just add that I'm not even sure that 'pushed in' is the right expression.
It sounds more as if they simply wandered up to the manager when he started handing out tickets and he was so dopey that he didn't notice that they were not in the queue.
As someone said earlier, it was his organisational skills that got him into the situation in the first place. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
