Well, can't believe I'm actually on here... everything seems to have spiralled drastically out of control at the moment. So I've been making lists like mad, redoing my budgets like every day (when I'm not drinking or stayed late at work or both *cue bitter laughter*).
Where to start?
This month has been expensive to be fair - I had my car tax which i'd managed not to have any money put aside for, so had to only get 6 months and of course all from this month's budget - £71.50.
Of course, had my unexpected car repairs (semi-expected, I lie
) - had an ongoing issue with disappearing oil - i.e. not leaking and not burning off but mysteriously going somewhere. I do a helluva lot of miles, so this is a priority for me. Anyway, end of week before last, found a somewhat massive leak had sprung. Randomly had my friend's friend (who works for Drive Vauxhall) look at my Corsa, and he diagnosed it straight away as the rocker cover gasket had gone and the oil pressure switch had gone. He ended up fixing it for me the next day - came and picked it up from work for me, replaced both parts, filled the oil up to max - 4.5 litres he put in!!! - and dropped it back to work for me... and charged me a total of £62.00. Which was unbelievably good of him - mates rates you see.
However, it did !!!! up my money even more, it was always going to be a tight month, have my sister's birthday and my friend's birthday near the end of the month so had to get them both presents.
On top of all this, I've utterly failed at stopping smoking, and because I'm not budgeting for it, it's ruining my budgets completely.
So
I've spent literally about 4.5 hours this weekend completely redoing all my budgets to a more realistic amount for everything. As I thought, there's no pigging way I will get to move out before Christmas. On the upside, I'll be covered for every eventuality and will eventually be debt free and moving out, even though it'll be longer again than I thought.
There's no saving this month unfortunately, my budgets are shot and I'm ... well... F*CKED to put it bluntly. But not so much that i couldn't budget what was left. Forget petrol money, I NEVER dip into that, so I have that put aside spearately. I have £46.20 left for food money, and £48 elsewhere. THIS IS IT UNTIL 29 JULY. See what I mean about F*CKED??!!!! Hehe, luckily I can work all this out. I'm allowing myself 7 cigs a day. I can do that. Usually I have about 12, but that is excessive and it's when I smoke for the sake of it. 7 is doable. I go over when I drink, but I can't afford to go out for a drink for the rest of the month, so works out!!! So, including today, as I havent had any yet as haven't been out (can't smoke at home - parents don't know/pretend not to know that I smoke...yes, I'm 27!) yet - so there are 19 days including today left, at 7 a day that is 133 cigs. Round up to packet size, and that is 140, or 7 packs of 20. Pack of 20 is about £6.50 so that's £45.50. that is the "elsewhere" money all but gone which I've budgeted for. I've already done food shopping this week, just need couple of little fresh bits so I have £6.20 for the rest of this week for that, then £20 for w/c Fri 15th, and £20 for w/c Fri 22nd. Then the next Friday I get paid.
So it's not too bad when I look at it like that, just needed some planning. And whilst I cringe to look at £45.50 WASTED on cigs, I'd rather plan it in than not and then find I'm borrowing money to fund it and owing next month, etc, etc.
Onto work, it's been better this week, not so hellish, but I had the letter through about my promotion when I got home on Wednesday and it showed the new salary and my new job title. Only the new salary was only £2k higher, not £3k that they had told me! The letter came from HR and so naturally I assumed they'd made a mistake so when I went in on Thursday I emailed one of the bosses to ask about it. Basically she said the director had been denied any funding initially when she had applied so she was pleased I'd got a letter at all (!) then she said she would ask the director about it and come back to me. Later on I got an email saying she would ask in the afternoon or on Friday as the director wasn't in a good mood as lots of things going wrong at the moment (no !!!!!!...some my fault, most not, why does she think everyone is stressed, staying late, drinking etc???!!!). Anyway, I then never heard back on Thursday when they were both in the office by the way, and had nothing on email on Friday when neither of them were in the office. On Monday everyone is in and we're having a rather-suddenly-called-by-the-director dept meeting in the afternoon so I may chase on Monday, but before the meeting as suspect it's not going to be a nice one. Personally I feel that if they didn't have the money, they shouldn't have offered it to me and the way the boss responded to my message asking about the discrepancy was incredibly unprofessional. My parents, dad in particular, is up in arms about it! He keeps saying it's so unprofessional and so unfair. My point is that all the motivation I had because they'd given me a promotion, has now been negated and then some, because this has happened. So i still don't know what's going on. Unfortunately it's kind of the way our dept slash company is run. Unprofessionally!!!
Moving on because work is depressing ... although everything is at the moment, feel like I'm in some kind of horrible limbo!
I had 100% again on my OU assignment which was good! :T:j:beer: It's assignment 3 of the course, so only 2 more to go, ooo er! I'm behind again, but that's a time issue, and I'm hoping to do some today after all my updates on here! No surveys today so far so no distractions! May see my friend later but only at her house so no cost except petrol which is covered, I have a little extra as no work on Tuesday as I have physio for my knee in the morning and haircut (which I've already paid for) in the afternoon.
Got wrist cramp now, must stop typing!!!
Oh... also I have nothing in moving savings now - and nothing in my pig for my 365 savings. HOWEVER I have budgeted to make the 365 savings up over the next couple of months, as this is actually my Christmas and January birthday presents money this year (I have most family birthdays in January!).
Off to update everything...
Love to all

Day off on leave today - had physio this morning, much happier with it this time, I have some clear instructions, exercises and massage of the knee to do, so that's good. Getting my hair cut in a minute - she comes to our house and does it cheap. I alternate getting just cut, and cut and colour, as I only have highlights so it doesn't hurt to skip every other one and of course is much cheaper. So today is cut only, so £10, but I already gave mum the money on the weekend so that's covered. When I have colour as well as cut it's £40, but it's two colours and still a darnded good deal! :j

Well, sorted out what was going on with work and the lack of the full rise. Basically I'm being blamed for a high profile c*ck up - which genuinely is not my mistake. I argued my case but I could tell they didn't listen. So they said they had decided to drop it to 2k rise, and review over the next 6 months to get the extra 1k. If all this is true, then it was very unprofessional of them not to tell me about it until I had the letter and of course queried it. What we think actually happened is that they've mucked up and are maybe using this high profile issue as a get out clause. It's so ridiculously political there. I'm half considering looking for other jobs, but the trouble is, as a whole, I like my job and what I do, and I'm good at it. Yes, workload at the moment means I am missing a couple of things, but that will get better now I have my new guy. Anyway, too upsetting to think about right now, I'm trying not to think about work too much today!
Love to all

No update really, nothing has happened! Work was busy yesterday, I couldn't help but feel resentful at times. Interestingly it wasn't demotivating about the money thing - I was really busy and I kept plugging away at everything, it's almost made me want to work harder so they feel bad, but I already put a lot of myself into this job so I can only give so much! Hmm. I'm not going to lie though, I really don't want to be there. It feels like every time one of the bosses looks at me they're thinking "God, what an idiot." hey ho. Thinking like that won't help - but unfortunately in our workplace things like that are usually true, they don't hide their disgust with things too well.
At least I'm still getting a rise, but I don't want to fall into the trap of just feeling grateful for that (although I am!), because they did still do wrong and I mustn't forget that.
Rock and a hard place.

Hey you!
Know how you feel, only I didn't get a rise, but I think in these times employers take their employees for granted knowing there isn't much out there at the mo, so they have your security. Thinking about different ways to earn some cash but need some to start with haha!!
big hugs

Hey Stephie
I know they've got us trapped in a way. I keep thinking about a part time job, but my issue is time, I literally already have none, I'm always tired, barely see my friends anymore, and sometimes have to work weekends so it wouldn't be fair to an employer. Dunno, I can keep trucking on for a bit but tbh I'm feeling more and more drained - which is a lot to do with living so far away from everything so there's always a half hour drive to contend with - I just keep feeling something's got to give eventually.
Hope you're ok, notice you've been a lot quieter on the forums lately...
Take care lovely

Heyo
Yeah have been a bit distant lately, just getting a little apathetic about the whole debt thing, it's not so much that I can't afford to service them properly, it's more the opposite, I have paid the ones that have been hanging over my head like the broadband and phone to the old flat and the hideous store card but now I have the biggies left, and part of me really can't be bothered any more, just want it to go so trying to think of 'get rich quick' schemes so I can get out of it quickly.
Work have got me doing a lot of training clients lately which is cool, better than sitting behind a desk but still makes me think they are basically getting it for free. When I leave they are gonna need a new receptionist, basic designer and training person to replace me. They have got a new intern who they are paying minimum wage to do half of my job (basic design work) so I feel a bit rubbish about that as they wouldn't give me a payrise... They promised to train me up, get me on advanced HTML and CSS courses but none of that ever materialised. I guess I wasn't worth it.I am holding out for the civil service to start recruiting again in September as it would suit me down to the ground, they pay well and they pay you to do charity work (something close to my heart that I can't do now that I have 2 jobs) so that would be amazing if I got it... we'll see...
Is there anything you could do online to earn a few more pennies? like some of your work skills?
Lots of Love

Hey Stephie
I sort of see what you mean about the debt - you've achieved the little things that you can tick off the list, which is what keeps you motivated, now it's the long haul and nothing exciting to tick off! I'm drawing a blank with get rich quick schemes. It's slowly dawning on me I either have to sacrifice more money per month - but quite frankly I'm struggling a bit with my budgets at the moment, think I cut them back too much! - or that I have to settle in and accept that the balances are going down slowly.
Wow in some ways your job sounds great, lots of variety. But it's awful that you feel they don't think much of you. I'm sure they do, really, but maybe it just doesn't come across? Have you asked them about the training at all? Any chance they could have forgotten?!
Civil service sounds good though and only a month and a half for you to wait - doesn't sound too bad does it!!
hope you're having a lovely weekend poppet.

Not a huge update from me today. Am completely skint, literally have money for petrol and cigs and a bit of food and that's it till 29th. Sucks!!!
Have done my first Shred today, wow that was harder than I thought, very very impressed for a 20 minute workout! I'm going to try and do it most days... we'll see. Don't know where the time will come from.
This week is set to be the worst one yet for work, not only are we moving our offices at the end of the week, but our head office is finally closing (we have another one!) and all the staff left there are moving to other sites - approx 5 sites in total and they're all doing that this week as well. Since I have to talk them through setting up their phones and do all the system programming for them at the same time, my week is looking very full! That's before I even look at the 240+ outstanding support tickets I have sat there... I swear I have a workload issue and that it's not all time management - I work hard all day.
Grr, don't want to think about them.
My friend thinks I should seriously start looking for other jobs after the blaming incident and subsequent reduction of my payrise. She thinks they're completely out of order. I do too, but I can't help but feel guilty too, it's in my nature, even though I know that it wasn't my fault. I hate that they make me feel so worthless, they have no idea how hard I work and how much I try. They just see me as a failure and don't even hide it, which is the worst thing. That's why my friend thinks I should leave. I'm torn because I do love my job as a whole and I like the people I work with and generally what I do there. I don't like the management's attitude towards us, and that goes right up, not necessarily just immediate management. We're treated as less than muck sometimes, and it makes me wonder why I put so much effort in for them. Why do I come in early, stay late, take calls on the weekend etc. Why do I even care? Why am I getting upset about it now?
I guess it sort of hurts that even after nearly 3 years with them, they still don't seem to view me as being any kind of valuable member of the team - it's more like I'm a nuisance.
Hey ho, it's saturday so I'm off downstairs to celebrate this fact by sitting alone in the kitchen with my reduced, one-day-out-of-date Tesco finest Indian. Less than £2 for 2 items, can't go wrong. :T
Have a lovely weekend readers xxxxxxx
