My order arrived yeaterday with the invoice clearly stating 4 bubble baths £0.00 but no bubble baths enclosed just the rest of my order. Any advice would be welcome
I got the same. Not going to pursue it any further because I got the wipes I ordered and free delivery, anything else was a bonus. Have better things to do with my time than pursue a battle with Avon.

I'd like some advice too please, sadly i dont have better things to do with my time than pursue a battle with avon lol.

I will be writing but would welcome advice as what to say. I know an order is accepted as a contract when payment is taken? The invoice i received with the order must be the same and it clearly states the bubble bath at nill, brochure etc with what i ordered and the cc payment.

How can the payment be debited and an invoice raised and they can just take away the bubble bath? surely they are not allowed to just take something away with an im sorry but tough?

help please and grateful thanks as always

I have just contacted them with regards to their T and C's. Their words are that once an order has been accepted it is a "legally binding agreement between us". I have highlighted this point to them and shall see what they have to say when they realise they have broken said legally binding contract....

Unfortunately for Avon I won't tolerate shoddy service nor am I one those customers that companies rely on not to complain ;)

  • Prestigious British toy store Hamleys had a run on its stocks of numerous toys after a loophole on its website was exploited by consumers who bought goods for as little as 40 percent of their original price, The Guardian reported.

"We can confirm that this weekend our website experienced a technical error," Hamleys chief executive Nick Mather was quoted by the daily as saying.

"We addressed this issue immediately and it was resolved within 24 hours. We would like to apologise to customers who were unable to access the website and place orders during this time."

Details of a glitch in a Hamleys voucher scheme, which allowed customers to claim a 60 percent discount on products, were published on the website HotUKDeals on Saturday afternoon.

By Sunday morning, The Guardian reported, more than half of the store's top-selling doll and toy ranges were out of stock.

The company promised to honour any orders made on its website as a result of the mistake.

One consumer bought a full-sized snooker table, which cost 13,000 pounds (19,300 euros, 25,300 dollars), for slightly more than 5,000 pounds, the newspaper said
  • i still haven't received my order, is anyone else still waiting? I checked the lynx site and it says 'out for delivery' does anyone know if this means I was out and they tried to deliver or if my item is waiting to be delivered? it says it was picked up on friday.

Hi, mine has said Out for Delivery since Thursday and I'm fed up of waiting in! I'm hoping that they will leave a card if I'm not home but I really can't believe that its been in a van for 6 days and still not made it here! I think they are making it up as they go along.....

    price: £4.00
    or 2 for -£24.00

Whilst we appreciate that you are upset that we are unable to process your order, the promotion was to buy 2 items at the regular price of £4 in order to receive the 2nd item free of charge. Since you have not in fact purchased a bubble bath from us we are unable to proceed with this promotion.

If you would like to take advantage of this great offer please place your order again and if you use voucher code DISCOUNT at the checkout, we will give you 20% off your order. This voucher is valid until 31/12/2006.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Regards,

    Angela Campbell.
    Avon Customer Service Centre.

    To which I have replied:

    Angela,

I refer you to my original email which asked not to receive correspondence if it was going to be a standard reply. Further to this, I note that your recent reply was clearly cut and pasted, as is made obvious from the repetition in the first few sentences. I expect that your reply this time will be more detailed, considered and making an attempt to address the issues in my original email.

Avon Cosmetics must resolve this issue in the following way:

    1. The £5.50 debited from my bank account for the delivery of promotional material shall be returned immediately.

    AND

    2. Either:

    a) Avon Cosmetics Ltd choose to supply my order in full as detailed in the order confirmation and delivery note.

    OR

    b) Avon Cosmetics Ltd choose not to deliver my order in full but apologise for the manner in which this delicate matter has been handled and donate a figure of £20.00 to a charity of my choosing in way of an apology.

For the final time I wish to point out that if this situation cannot be satisfactorily resolved that I will be left with no choice than to begin proceedings at my local Sheriff Court under Scottish law. Unfortunately I am being forced by yourselves to follow this route and am prepared to do so.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Alan Shave
