  • :jI have recently used ASDA mobile trade in and it was great. I registered my account online. ASDA sent me Freepost envelope to send my mobile. I sent it recorded delivery (70p i think) about 7 days later i recieved a cheque for quoted amount £51.71. I also tracked my mobile via ASDA trade in site. I am now hunting for more old mobile lol! Thanks Money Martin found the link on this site. There is no paperwork sent to you with the envelope to send mobile, the tracking number is on the envelope (address) but i also attached my account number to phone.
  • My OH used Asda to trade in an old Nokia mobile phone because they offered the best trade in price. He posted using the prepaid jiffy bag & asked for a certificate of postage (only a cheap phone so post office insurance would have covered it). The provided adress sticker has your individual refence number on it, although we included a copy of the letter to be on the safe side. Great, efficient service - cheque received within a week. Will def use them again.
  • Good experience with Asda. Quoted £21.78 and the cheque appeared within three days of receiving the e-mail stating they'd got it. Even though the screen was very slightly cracked and it was over three years old they still paid up! Found two more mobiles in the garage; will try and charge them up, then see what they're worth! PS: didn't send it special delivery or anything - just the basic freepost...

Sorry if this is the wrong place but I used the Asda Tech Trade In website but have a welcome pack from money4mymobile.com quoting the same reference. Are they one in the same ?
    Thanks
  • I used Asda to trade in my iPhone 3GS - which I had used since Dec 09, was quite scratched up and had a crack on the back - but got a cheque for £100.50 within a week of sending it back - so very pleased with the service.

I traded in this laptop which I hadn't used for about six months, fully charged. The manufacturer spec for this model states an 80Gb HD (which I haven't changed). This is the reply I got:

    "Hi Mark,

Many thanks for sending ASDA Tech Trade-In your gadget. It has now undergone testing with our technical team and we have found the following problem:

You traded a Toshiba Intel Celeron M as working (Hard drive size: 60G, Amount of RAM: 512mb, Charger: Yes, Windows OEM: Yes) . However according to our grading the criteria do not match: (Hard drive size: Under 60G, Amount of RAM: 512mb, Charger: Yes, Windows OEM: Yes) .

We are unable to return this gadget and we will go ahead and recycle your gadget and pay you the new value if applicable.

Please note that any additional unlisted items and gadgets can not be returned.

    The ASDA Tech Trade-In Team"

  • Well done Asda Tech
Sent Tuesday(in prepaid envelope i paid extra for recorded)
Email from them confirming they got it Wednesday
Email from them phone accepted payment by Bacs in next few days
    Cash in bank Monday
    Good price to
Second time used same super service
    Will use again
  • Sent in a phone last Tuesday using the freepost envelope.

Received a cheque for the amount quoted today.

Quite impressed as the phone was a foreign phone and in the terms and conditions they said that if it was a phone bought from abroad, i'd get less money. I also thought the phone wasn't working.

But, it seems all was well.
  • Further to my last post on checking their website i noticed a price match promise
Ever though they had already paid me i contacted them and they sent me another £5.60
    Well Done Asdatech
